I know myself enough to know that fostering isn't something for me. But I want to help people and animals. And so I save every scrap I have to one day buy a big farm with a lot of land around it. Then I plan to invite organisations to fee-free do rescue work for animals, from elephant to mouse, and rescue work for humans, from baby to adult, on my land. I just want a small flat for me, three rooms, a kitchen, a bathroom, a tinsy bit garden, and the rest they can then use. And I can see everyday how animals and humans are getting help by people who can do what I can't. :)

I would love to create a cat rescue that focuses on pregnant moms, neonatal kittens and singletons. I'd name it Kitten Season, and do the best I could to take the burden off local shelters during kitten season, so older cats have a better chance to get adopted...
I am also autistic and broke AF, so I feel like that dream is way in the future, if it ever is to happen at all. Even getting and keeping a job is impossible for me, so I feel like this is an unrealistic aspiration. I love cats. I want to help cats. But...

I’ve been dreaming of doing the same thing in my area! We only have 1 shelter and they don’t have the room to take in a lot of pregnant cats and kittens.
I just started fostering kittens after being inspired by kitten lady. I didn’t even know fostering kittens was a thing. I’m currently caring for a litter of five healthy 6 week old kittens!
Among the best moments:
- seeing a paw come from off the screen to tap Shelly's shoulder
- watching the cat pawing a photo hanging on the wall behind Chris and Shelly

About a month ago my husband and I took in a kitten from outside. Hes been the sweetest addition to our family. His name is Franklin

What an outstanding idea! It always bothers me when I see cats ,( and dogs), having to live in this small space day in, day out for months. That's not how they normally live; they need space to roam . At shelters you can see many of them become lethargic and depressed and they look like they're giving up . It breaks my heart! This idea solves that whole problem.
How wonderful of you to use your lives to help out all the wonderful cats that deserve love and to be cared for. The world needs more of you!

My indoor outdoor kitty went missing a year ago, I’m sad but I just hope that somebody thought she was a stray and brought her into their home.
The best part of the pandemic was getting to "meet" various tv personalities' pets, including the weather forecaster whose cat walked in front of his computer camera mid-forecast. I did also enjoy getting to see the kids and spouses, of course.

I'm glad you have a professional, clean/healthy place, and very loving rescue. I know of one in my area where it seems to be normal, but underneath these cats/dogs are so sick and unhealthy. She is medically abusing her animals and they need help. She has been shut down many times, but she is a former layer so she can always get around it.
Kitten Lady, I just love the work you do and I’ve been a subscriber for a year now! My parents sadly won’t let me foster kittens now, as I’m only 13 and we travel a lot, but right when I reach adulthood, that is what I will do. Love you! 😘
I spent my first few semesters of my VT training hanging at the Catcade!
I rescued a pregnant cat and I fell in love with one of the kittens and kept the one of the kittens aswell

I want to thank you for this video. This is something Ive been toying for down the road. I knew that had to be a lot more to it and this video has been very helpful in putting me in a good direction. Often I wind up helping strays and ferals but no place for them to go. Im not sure how it will wind up but for the first time I feel like I have some direction to look in and several very good ideas for someone in my position considering this. I thank you for that and I also thank you for the wonderful work that you do.

I loved this, Hannah. You and your friends/colleagues are such inspiration. I’m looking forward to start fostering in the future. I unfortunately rent and my landlord isn’t too thrilled on the idea. But, I will definitely be doing it in the future. Take care and keep up the great work.

Usually I don't like hair dyed unnatural colors because it's not done very well most of the time, but Shelly's hair is a good example of how to do it right.

If I was to open a Cat Rescue, it would be for unwanted or surrendered Seniors. Before I moved from Auckland to Hamilton, I was looking after a neglected senior. She had to battle with three dogs for food. It was really heart-breaking. I miss her so much! So, yeah, that's what I'd do! Thanks, Kitten Lady, you are appreciated!
That is so awesome we rescued 6 kitties and love them all we have a mishtive maker named Chewie a mom type cat named muffin a shy kitty named boo and recees also Yoda and lastly we have Obie who is my little man. I love them all

My kitty is from the Catcade! Hes a one eyed tabby boy. it was love at first sight, he didn't want any one else petting him, but I got headrubs, he's spoiled rotten now
I have 1 cat and 5 kittens,the oldest used to have 2 other siblings but we were not able to save them,the first lasted 2 to 3 days and the second lasted like probably almost a month due to how long they haven't been feed.the third which we manage to save and are fully grown by now were found on the floor cold and slightly skinny but now he is a 1 or 2 years old healthy cat and his name is mocha😊
Oh and the 4 kittens currently 4 month now were left on my uncle old car which he never used,luckily they were okay and when they turn 3 month we decided to take care of them because well turns out the mother took 2 of the kittens and put them on a hole at the back of our house and fortunately,the first kitten is okay but the second had a broken arm and we took her to the vet.the first is garfield the second is coco the third is vanilla and the fourth is vanilla sundae because I don't have any ideas for a new name and my new kitten that were found by my brother while he was working out,she just suddenly rub herself on his feet obviously he was suprise and my baby brother called me to go outside and suprise suprise I saw a cute kitten age probably 2 months or 3 but her other eye is blind don't know how that happened🤔 and her name is bambam 😁

Ok, to ANYONE who's never done chiropractic care....TRY IT! It makes a HUGE difference in how you feel, and this is coming from someone who has suffered lower back injuries and surgeries to fix those issues. The mobility issues post surgery are why many people don't recover long term.

I love the idea of a cat arcade , kitten lady has truly inspired me we now buy cats pride litter instead of tidy cats to help other cats, we also now have it in mind to foster I don’t know yet but I love cats.........

I just had a mother reject her litter. There were two kittens in the litter. One died before I was aware that she had them and had rejected them. The other newborn kitten that she rejected died during care a couple of days later. Can you discuss this issue in an upcoming segment?

Hope all your kittens have homes to go to when they're "ready" ( old enough ). If I was looking for kittens, the gray one & the lighter colored tabby ( together at the end of video ), are very cute. However, I already have enough for my small space.

You guys are the real heroes , when my kitten Simon died of FIP I was broken. You gave me hope.... I’ve had five cats from 2019-2020. Luna was my first cat. She was a year old when we had to get rid of her. She ate though cords and it physically shocked my mother and Luna was not a nice cat she bit and scratched EVERYTHING and EVERYONE, then there was Simon. He was the best cat anyone could ask for , he was sweet cuddle loved to play and he was so close to me and my family. He loved our dog Wilson too they slept together and played together but I noticed something was wrong with his actions and breathing so my parents took him to the vet... when I got home they told me he had died, the vets had to put him down because he was suffering. He had FIP, there are two kinds and he got wet FIP where his lungs filled with liquid. He was slowly drowning. If I Hadn’t notice he would have been In agony. Next was Link. He was sweet and had a soft quiet meow but he was strange, he was afraid of everything which you can expect for a kitten in a new home but he only came out to eat. He didn’t like playing and the only person he liked was me , and he also wouldn’t drink water unless there was ice in it. We noticed that he actually couldn’t see some of his toys including the laser pointer and we noticed that his eyes where quite crossed we hadn’t taken note of this earlier, but then he stared using the bathroom outside of the litter box and on the seats of our furniture and carpet, and it was two days till we got new carpet so my mother decided to return him. Then there was Rosie she was a kitten we where tracking, she was born at a rescue and we said we would take her when she was old enough. After months of waiting and photos the day came and she was given to us... not even 24 hours passed when we realized something wasn’t right, she would go to the bathroom laying down and al she did was sleep. Granted she was very tiny. Then she started to burn up and would lay motionless we panicked so we took her to the vet first thing in the morning and they took her. My mother told me that she would be going back to the rescue to be taken care of. I haven’t seen her since. I don’t even know if she is dead or alive she had a deadly fever. And last we have Emmy . She is doing amazing and is the kitten I have right now. She is 4 months old and a real panther, she loves going on walks in her kitty stroller and playing. She is a real sweetheart but not a lap cat she is a ball of energy and I love her and she loves the grand cat tower her sibling have ruled before her .Thanks to Hannah I never lost hope. Thank you Kitten Lady!!!❤️❤️
I just got a couple of kittens and they’re very small (116g and 126g) they’re now losing weight and I have no access to a vet. I feed them kitten formula mixed with water and they lay on a heating pad. They don’t move much and only meow when I pick them up. They’re also really bad eaters. It’s very hard to feed them with a syringe or a bottle. I need advice

hey hannah! i have a 8 year old cat sense i have had sense she was around 6 months old. she has never been abused and she is very loved and we always feed and have a clean litter box for her but for some reason she is just super scared of everyone in the house. she does not like toys, they always scare her. she is always hiding under my parents bed or under the table. i would love to help her be less scared and i just want her to get used to me so i can play and love on her. could you make a video or do you have any tips of helping my adult cat get more socialized?

Just had a question, I know nobody will probably respond, but has anyone had to deal with a bout of coccidia in a litter of kittens? We had a litter become infected and we only have 1 of 5 left alive :( He has special food and meds from the vet but I was wondering about anything else we should potentially know... I just don't want to loose this last one...

I would love to get a cat (or 2), but it costs a lot. $150 for vaccines, license, etc. Plus, my apartment complex requires a $500 pet deposit, and a $40 monthly fee PER PET. If I volunteered at a shelter, I would want to bring them all home.
So many shelters have volunteers to do the dirty work, but they also have options for cuddlers. You would be surprised at how many things you can do, even volunteer to help on adoption days at events, etc. SO REWARDING.
