I've watched many of these Onkyo no sound HDMI chip fixes since I have this issue with one of their flagship units. You've received some pretty strange comments and I'm not sure why because your video was clear, concise and well explained. I even picked up a new tip from watching your videos so thank you.
Glad to help
This is a problem that is easily fixed with the right tools
Great video. I've fixed many of these, esp Onkyo, in the same fashion. Just one tip, use some flux around the chip. Helps with any oxidation in the broken joints.
Great point!
Weller makes some of the best soldering irons around.
Well explained 👌
Thank you 🙂
Quick fix...Nice!
Those hot air stations aren't meant for soldering(Or anything really.) they're junk that fall apart and might burn your house down depending on where the parts fall. Try Atten or Quick.
I haven't experienced that problem. For a casual hobbyist it works fine
@@GearsAndTech They work just well enough to be sold on scAmazon and not a penny more.
I have a TX NR 656, and the HDMI out isn't displaying image on TV. I can hear the sound. Can I reflow the hdmi chip? Pls help
Yep. Should fix it.
Look at the camera!!!!
Fake it until you make it.
No other option
So this is a commercial ;-) video .....
I'm not sure if that's totally fair. I actually fixed the unit, and showed the tools used and that it worked.
I even spoke about alternate methods based on equipment you may already have
