Quality job, well done, I am a little puzzled about the access to the bath trap and waste pipe, also with the quality of the bathroom equipment used and your time spent waterproofing etc, surprised you didn’t use a de coupling mat on the floor which would be stuck to the floor with tile adhesive and then tiled directly to it, saves a big step into a lovely bathroom,
As much as this is an advert for Abacus it's a damn good one. I watched the whole thing and feel like I've learnt something.
To be fair there is generic information in this video that can apply to any bathroom. The fact that Abacus put up the money for the production is something we value. We could not have made it without them.
Would love to see the same video done in an old 1930s terrace house with knackerd old brick walls on a tight budget, totally different kettle of fish getting a good quality finish
One of these is exactly that from this guy
Chemfix for fixing bolts screws into crumbling walls.
I’ve just done a full rip out of my stone Victorian terrace my walls were all over the show but i boarded all of it level with wood batons packed and fixed to the stone … my room is square and plumb .. it’s first time I’ve ever done a bathroom so if can do it then anyone can
Klobmiester how did you acquire knowledge of what to do and what to get?
@@Wild-Storm RUclips videos
What an absolute pleasure to watch Roger!
As a time served plumber and bathroom fitter, I can’t stress enough just how easy you made that look. Your explanations and attention to detail are brilliant and most likely will spur youngsters on to want to go into the profession.
I will be incorporating abacus into my own bathroom once the extension is finished. Thankyou for all you do Roger and keep up the fantastic work!
Very nice of you to say these things, thank you
This is what RUclips was invented for! Roger you are the best! Really like the video and Abacus seems to have really understood the market place and I will be using their solutions in my up coming bathrooms and private client work, thanks to you and Abacus for this information and instructions
Robin Clevett kkkabklKkkkkkkklllllllllj
michael nicholas lmaooo
Belt and braces brothers haha
You tell em Clevett😉
I really like the detail and positive demeanor you put into this video.
This Guy is very well respected throughout the british plumbing industry. Has been writing columns for outr trade mags for many years. he is the one to listen too when you need the right advice.
WOW! That was a pleasure to watch and I have learnt so much! Thanks for taking the time to make this video, I can see already you are the Ed China of the plumbing world ie does it properly the first time, looking forward to watching more of your content, thank you :)
Thanks for posting this. Being following your tips and advice for years, and after seeing your video on shower trays my confidence in bathroom fitters has dropped further, so will be saving and watching this with a view to doing my bathroom myself!
I'm right in the middle of doing my bathroom and I have been following this advice to the letter (from the Abacus video on their own feed) . It is looking excellent. Thanks Roger!
Wow a fantastic job roger! Really interesting to watch. One of your best videos yet!
I am in the middle of a major renovation /extension project. I have to fit out a bathroom and two ensuite rooms. This video has been brilliant and informative. Roger, I am massively impressed by your presentation generally and I have subscribed. I suspect I will be watching lots more videos of yours! Cheers for this fantastic free resource.
I would make a rather unusual comment here, and it is about UK.
After seeing scores of videos from all over the world, I think the videos from UK are the best. And you Roger are somewhere right at the top. The amount, quality and usefulness of the content is top grade on each count. Thanks mate. Really grateful.
The worst, IMHO, are from US where you have to deal with the ego and self praise of the person presenting the video. There is LOT of faffing around and the juice is scarcely 15 percent in terms of words and time. No doubt there are some brilliant videos from Americans and many bad videos from UK as well, but overall these are non comparable.
This is one of the best videos I have ever seen. Very detailed, Very good standard & workmanship.
Excellent video Roger, I really enjoy watching you explain plumbing in simple terms
AWESOME !!! I absolutely am overjoyed to watch you; Roger ; and Robin. I learn soooo much and its soooo clear. SPOT ON ROGER!!! SPOT ON !!!
As a maintenance engineer I like the easy of access to all the isolation values and the daily in water proof makes it look extremely professional 👍 top marks.
I'm 36 just going through my level 2 plumbing, eventually I'll move onto level I also ran my own construction company until so called tradesmen ran it into the ground, it's really refreshing to see that there are still guys like yourself that care about what there doing, people's mistakes cost me thousands and eventually my business, so it's back to square one but I'm determined to do it right this time and be the guy that everybody calls to get the job done and it's watching people like yourself that really make that possible
THANK YOU
Jamie legend mate, hope it’s all going well
Jamie Hi I see it’s been a year since your post. I hope your doing well with your new business !! I Wish You The Best 🙂
@NORF FC SIMPLE AS your entitled to your opinion my friend I just shared my personal experience,,,, they said they were experienced enough to carry out the work that was required but unfortunately that was at best sub standard and when your running against tight schedules you don't always have the luxury of hindsight, but thanks for your opinion 👍
@@amateurdover5980 cheers bud sorry for the late reply stay safe son 👍
@@CarolJDeines Hi carol I've only just seen your comment but thankyou for your kind words hope your staying safe 😉
Found this when looking for tips to fit my new bathroom. I’ve fitted several but always looking for new tips
I have to say I really like this guy. No patronising bullshit, this guy is great!
These frames seem much nicer than the ones I’ve used from eBay in the past. That basic frame looks very nice. I’m having a couple of those definitely. And the toilet frame looks much more friendly than the two types I’ve used in the past.
Top bloke 👍
Absolutely amazing job. Watched it start to finish and totally impressed how the work was carried out. Fancy coming to do mine?
Never been so excited to watch a 57 minute video. Excellent job as usual and exceptional editing. You are the man. Thumbs way up even before the video ends. 👍
Absolutely brilliantly done roger!
I have just done my bathroom install on my level 2 6035
It looked nothing like this one 😂
Thank you for sharing your years of experience with us all
Very helpful with the added entertainment factor of having exactly the same voice as Billy Murray!
Thanks for a very comprehensive installation guide. I went on the abacus website but couldn't find the bathroom kit you used which clearly made the entire job much easier.
Excellent video, and a valuable resource. This channel needs more than 43k subscribers
What a video Roger. Amazing. Thanks for doing this.
Great video mate. I'm a third year apprentice and this is really helpful!
Beautiful, clean plumbing work!! Pleasure to watch!
Just started watching your vids mesmerising how you create a truly amazing bathroom..got a lot of knowledge on how to do it the right way keep these coming please 👍👍
It does not get any better than this anywhere, a truly superb quality Product fitted by a top quality trades man. Pure
Pleasure for me to watch this, love it . Thank you.
Extremely professional great to watch !
Great vid.
. You have an awesome personality. A pleasure to watch.
Fabulous work Roger, love watching your videos. How can I ensure that the work carried out on my house is done to the same standards that you adhere to? Thanks again and keep up the great work 😁👍
I love this video, just come back and watched this a second time as a means to plan a bathroom in a project for 2019. Is there a separate product list for the video?
Great Video. Learned a lot. Love the thought processes by Abacus. Really clever but very simple too.
Well done Roger another excellent job and everything high quality.
This might be the BEST educational video EVER seen for how to make a bathroom/wet room. Thank you for taking so great care of our craftmanship and getting people to understand why solid work actually cost more than east-european crapworkship. The only thing we do different here in Norway, is to cover the entire walls with OSB sheets, under the cement sheets. Then you can have 60 cm c/c studs, and thinner cement sheets. Details thus. Thanks and best regards from Plumber in Norway.
excellent video, easy to follow. i really enjoyed watching it, lots of new stuff, few reminders through advices. thank you for putting so much effort in producing this video.
Great to see a shelve not silicone sealed in and with future maintenance in mind. Love the European isolator valves as well. Thanks for sharing.
Simply brilliant, thanks for great info
Amazing video, this must be the first full hour video i have watched uninterrupted, great detailed instruction, this has inspired me to go and put the kettle on and have a nice cuppa, cheers.
Brilliant Video Roger...Addictive viewing beginning to end with good info and tips on the changing world of Plumbers. Abacus really have a simple concept quality product.
Great information and I really like the background music.
another great bathroom video... I am feeling more and more confident to carry out my own shower waterproofing, and to think i was going to tile on plasterboard !! I now know better... thank you and great to see new products and new ways to do things, i want my bathroom to last for years to come...
I would like to see another one of these videos Rodger. Very informative.
This video has helped me out a lot! Thanks
I am in the process of changing two en suites changed in my house. I thought I would watch this to see what's involved. Very impressive. Hope the guy who fits mine is as knowledgeable and uses the same techniques as this guy. Top job.
As an architect, I salute your clear thinking and explanation of necessary details, bravo!
Another fantastic job Roger. I f I was refurbishing my bathroom, I would do everything you do, particularly after watching your video. I do fit bathrooms when asked, as a carpenter (our two trades cross paths ) but i find it difficult to be competitive when doing this kind of work,. Like you I won't compromise by old school work practices but do find I price many jobs that I don't get. I think you covered a lot of those point in your podcast with Robin. Very interesting and useful video. Thanks Roger.
Well Done, mate...learned a lot!
Hay 👋🏽 thanks for the in depth lesson thanks for uploading and great job 👍🏽
Master.. master of his craft.. I am in the states and he is absolutely a perfectionist in his craft. I am not a plumber, or a tile person, but just watching him and his standards are as good as it can get. Just amazing.
I could watch this guy all day! His work is so satisfying and makes me want to train as a plumber
Great job man, I've done severals "Abacus" products and I really please with then high quality....
Beautiful beautiful beautiful work. Bravo!
Amazing.... What a great job.... Proper plumber best I have ever seen 👍
A class all the way Rog'
Also, well done to Abacus, a family company serving the larger family of plumbers.
I'm a construction pro since '85 and the Abacus system certainly is a 'problem' prevention bit of kit, well worth the money to install.
Mate that’s some quality workmanship i must say I’m very impressed. I wish my customers were more willing to spend money on the extra bits of protection but after seeing this video I can show them and I’m sure that’s enough to change any customer mind to spend that bit extra thanks :)
This has got to be the best install I have ever seen....
I normally stay away from videos that are this long but I have to say this was an enlightening 1 hour.
Lots of good tips for folk - tradesmen included - in this video chap. Good job.
Roger , your video's are very informative and have really given me a great insight into planning my extension. Thanks for making these brilliant videos and wish you were local so that I could pass on the work to you. :-)
Fitted my off the floor toilet and wash basin using Geberit UP200 and basin frame way back in 2013. Put Geberit's duofix metal channeling under and behind the toilet and basin frame. Plasterboard then just screwed onto the duofix. My plumbers had never seen anything like Geberit kit. I had to fit the Geberit frames to the wall myself as back then they didn't have a clue. I agree with you that Abacus have a very compelling set of solutions. Well explained set of options and things to be considered. Fitted Villeroy & Boch Subway toilet and V&B Sentique 800mm basin.
fabulous advise and presentation , thanks so much
Thank you for the informative video! I learned a lot.
I could Abakiss you after watching this master class. Amazing.
Perfect skill, perfect raw materials, very skill
Thank you for providing such an excellent plumbing program.
this is the best bathroom build video I've ever seen on youtube......I have converted a garage into a bedroom for my mum and want to add a bathroom suite myself...Thank you Roger, for the guidance...
Thank you. We appreciate your comment and also the help of Abacus for their vision and support. It takes a lot to film all this.. We only wish we could do more
Mate.. I learned and am still learning so much atm from you. Sponging it all up. Planning phase of my first renovation and just figuring out how much can do my self. The amount of value im getting from these is insane.. prob saving lots of future costs also with your insider wisdom. Thank you.
Going to def join patreon if you have it set up.
Great to hear! We have looked at membership but we need to offer something of value that we don't already do. We get good support from our sponsors which allows us to make these longer videos.
very impressed and great use of the latest products!
Great video Roger!! Happy cloggy man living in France.
If only the bathrooms were all fitted out this way, great instructional video.
Actually that was very informative, and I'm in the trade!
Nice... Excelente vídeo.. i wold love know how mutch it cost this build... geat job.. thankyou
Roger, excellent video from start to finish, thank you. We've just renovated our bathroom, using the waterproof backboards (Nassboards) and sealing kits throughout from Abacus, and installed German steel framed supports (purchased separately in Germany on a trip and brought back over here - far cheaper) hidden behind studding for both the sink and hanging toilet, hidden cistern, etc. All gone very successfully and this video helped enormously. Our finished bathroom now looks superb, 4 star hotel standard.
Hi Paul
I am so glad it all worked out, it is actually a lot easier than the old style bathroom with everything on show.
Thank you Boss and you a such a wonderful teacher
It's a joy watching you atwork
More videos like this please , I have never done a wall hung pan and I had visions of it being building elaborate frames and stuff so I always avoided it
Thank you - I actually feel like I could install my bathroom myself.
All round brilliant..
Wow well done mate you are very talented I love the way you done this you thought of everything on average how much did this cost in matirals? Avoiding the tile and adhesive
Really enjoyed watching this
I am using this video as training material for when I attack replacing my bathroom (DIY). I love all the extra bits such as mounting plates and filling the void with a box - just wow. I showed the missus and she was tickled pink with the idea.
I do have a question though, we are fitting a 1400mm rectangle shower tray and will use a stud wall for all of the pipework, what is the best approach for distancing between the real wall (untiled) and the stud wall (untiled)?
Roger, I am loving these videos - ALL of them !!!!!
nice work, nice to see craftmen ship in modern work
Brilliant video , recommend any good installers for complete bathroom derby area thanks .
Excellent video
That was a great video Roger, Im a tiler by trade 36 years... but been involved in complete installs of bathrooms over the last 15 years on and off when a customer don't want to get involved in organising all the different trades. It's great to watch you at work and it just reinsurers that i'm still doing all the correct stuff to create a beautiful bathroom. It was just like watching me install a bathrooms same process. I enjoy all your video Roger keep them up there great.... Cheers :-)
Thank you Alex
Fantastic! Just convinced my wife that this abacus system is the way to go. Can’t wait to install it looks lovely to work with. Thank you Skill Builder!!
Your wife will love it. Thank you for the feedback and good luck.
Thanks! It’s really useful having these step by step “from to box” instructions to follow. You are doing the DIY’er a great service Roger!
Excellent tutorial on how the job should be done
Love to watch it, you can see the pride and you when you build that bathroom.
Cracking job! and some great advice, though I'm glad I'm not the one paying for the (what appears to me) very mismatched tiles!
Thats how people like tiles these days every tile in my pack were different
Hey Rodger great video, well shot and very detailed. I, like many of the others here remember your TV shows and I loved watching them. I sat and watched this video and enjoyed every minute of it. We are planning a loft conversion to start soon and I absolutely want to use everything I have seen here the en-suite and although I am a confident DIYER and can do most things, I think this might a bit above me, but saying that, a lot of trades people - like you mention - are afraid to try new technology, so for that reason I may well just give it a go.
Thanks for the inspiration.
Thanks Christo. Nice that people remember all that old television stuff. It is a pity they would never let me do stuff in any depth or detail. That is why people have turned away from tele.
always a joy to watch cheers Roger
Thank you, good to know.
Another great job 🤩
Will look into using Abacus product's, especially the sealant 👍
Thank you!
Good man roger excellent work sir 👍
Great video Roger more long ones like this. ps got the jacket thanke /kev
Hi Kev. That is great to hear. We will try for some long videos but it takes a lot to make them
Great video very informative 👍🏻
Great video Roger cheers
This is top rate. How nice for once that manufactures have thought about those doing the fitting and servicing. Not sure what you pay Roger in sponsorship Abacus but it is not enough. I am now going to get one of your bathrooms!
