Rob you inspired me to paint my NH army with this colour scheme. I loved it so much and I loved the way you helped us with your skills. I discovered few minutes ago you're not here anymore. I'll miss you so much. My deepest condolences to his family. Rest in peace, Rob.
I am nowhere near this level yet. I am using other YT'ers whose guides are more battle ready to learn to paint. This looks fantastic and I hope one day to get to this level. Subscribed as a target level.
I'm about to start my dreadsomething wotsits - the ghosty horse fellas. This tutorial (and the other two) have been fantastic, thank you so much for posting
That technic is amazoing ! cant wait to try it out on bases fortesting before doing it on my nighthaunt ! SO , many , options now for this kind of fading
Thank you for this tutorial! I am new to painting and just tried to paint the weapon of my nighthaunt like you did. It absolutly rocks, thank you very much!
because of this tutorial (god knows how i came here) i'm going to start this hobby again! * edit * I tried it... it was horrible 😂 i've still got a looooot to learn. But great fun!
Great video, clear concise instruction and good camera work. Seems I've found a new painting channel to follow. interesting that you painted the base first, I always paint mine last but it does set the tone of the model doing it from "the ground up". I'm personally loving these nighthaunt models, and while I am a GW fan I also support non GW products and have found some very similar models from Fleshcraft Studios that I can't wait to use this technique on. Thanks.
I love this. How little you had to do to get amazing results. I still dont fully get wet blending but gonna be trying to incorporate as one of my main skills in painting
I'm not planning one but I do have to paint one at some point for my own Nighthaunts army. I'll be using the airbrush method in my Thorns of the Briar Queen video though.
Dude I'm just about to start painting the Hexwraith and some Nighthaunts and I was totally wondering on how to give this spooky effect on the robes. Your technique look just amazing, I just truly love it but as I start the painting, a bit unshure/afraid on how to make it clean ! Great job and thanks a lot :)
Sadly I cannot afford to buy Soul Wars to paint it. It would probably also be all I was painting for 2 months if I did. I only get 2 days a week to paint and 1 day to edit videos.
Very cool tutorial, can't paint to paint mines ! Thanks for this. However, with the new "easy build" the seam lines are very showy. Would you have an advice to quickly fill them up?
Amazing tutorial, i was so confused by a bunch of wet blending videos but this is so simple, and it worked out great. One thing though: the music you use in the background drives me kinda nuts, would be better off just having it silent tbh haha.
love this video, I've always wanted to paint some spoopy undead but you've inspired me to get the soul wars set and give the loaded brush a go because you've explained it so well, do you have a video that goes over wet blending as well? I still feel i'm not 100% on it and you explained loaded brush so well
RobPaintsModels A GW Citadel technical paint. It's kind of like a wash with a green ghostly gloom. I thought of maybe using it together with the loaded brush technique. I may try it
Stunning ad usual Rob! Love your work, hope to see more video 😄 Random question : Any idea for a color to match with a bright purple armor ? I start painting slaanesh warrior of chaos and I need some good colors for the cloth 😁
Just wondering, why do you go with that scheme for bones as opposed to the usual zandri, sepia, etc. one? Just for a different look or you find it to look better?
Ah gotcha. thanks for the response, ill try out that color scheme for some of the skeletons im working on, seems like it might work for like a commander or something
I'm loving this technique, but im having a real trouble with it on some of the new Nighhaunt models. Specifically on Guardian of Souls. It’s all these ”Smoke” ”Ethereal fire” parts.. Any tips?
You mean the channel logo? I wanted something that could go on a business card. It might not stay as this particular design but an Imperial Knights face wasn't really an option.
Beautiful figure as always. Thanks for sharing. So Rob ... How are the Imperial Guard going? From what you were saying it sounds like you have at least 400 pounds worth of models there. So I'm guessing you'd be asking at least 800 pounds plus postage to Australia must be another 50 to 100 pound. Am I at lease in the ball park with respect to what you are looking to get? This is fine by me, just wanting you to know I was serious when I said I was interested. I'll be keen to see your videos painting the remaining elements of the army. Regards, Rob.
This isn't my type of colour scheme, but this could win a golden demon I like the fact that you used citadel paints and there were some good techniques.

Whaaaattt? Rob passed away? I cannot believe it! I've used so many of his guides on my painting journey 😢
I’ve never heard of or seen that loaded brush technique. Very cool! I learned a lot in this video - subbed!
MiniJunkie spotted in the wild
I found this video back when I started painting, I still come back to your videos for tips and advice. Still some of my favorite videos for painting

You explain things beautifully and since using your techniques my painting has improved immeasurably, thank you mate.

Top stuff, you made the loaded brush technique look really easy, I'm keen to give it ago now!
Very nicely done. Simple and affective. Great breakdown of loaded brush technique
because of this tutorial (god knows how i came here) i'm going to start this hobby again!

I tried it... it was horrible 😂 i've still got a looooot to learn. But great fun!
I've never heard about loaded brush before! Looks superb, great job man!
Thanks for the tip, i’ve never heard of loaded brush before. Im currently painting my nighthaunt for aos 3rd ed. enjoying their classic style.

This is an excellent tutorial! Thanks, Rob. Subscribed.
Bravo. I'm new to the hobby, but I'm a huge fan of Ben Komets and this has convinced me to finally try the loaded brush.
ty so much with your guide i painted my first warhammer model :D
This is what I was searching for ! Thx for that tutorial, keep it up !
Good video I enjoyed learning the loaded bursh
I like the fact that you "fixed" the hood by filling in the gap and removing the studs. Hope I can get mine half as good looking!
This is beautiful! I definitely want to watch the rest of your stuff!
I'm a totally noob in the miniature painting world, but this loaded brush technique is so amazing. Thanks !
Lovely painting Rob. Another great video. I've not used the loaded brush technique for a while and you've inspired be to give it a go again. Thanks.
Fantastic. Great trick with wet blending. Thanks for sharing. Came out Awesome.
Awesome work

nice ,gonna give that loaded brush technique a try.
Hi Rob cool video man keep it up really enjoying your content on RUclips
WOW fantastic will try this
How do you base coat the model? Do you use GW Primer, paint Abaddon Black, or airbrush with Abaddon Black?
Amazing this loaded brush technique 👍🏻👍🏻
Awesome video, I learned a lot so thanks
can you do this with any craftstrore white you can find?
Do you have a tutorial on the knight of shrouds on ethereal stead or will you be?your work is amazing thanks for teaching me so much
I'm not planning one but I do have to paint one at some point for my own Nighthaunts army. I'll be using the airbrush method in my Thorns of the Briar Queen video though.
I got alot to learn!!!

Yet not to learn something from one of your videos. Keep em comin!
Amazing technique. I learn something more today. Great.
Rob you the best.
If you do a painting tutorial for each model in this set i will def. buy one for myself.
Sadly I cannot afford to buy Soul Wars to paint it. It would probably also be all I was painting for 2 months if I did. I only get 2 days a week to paint and 1 day to edit videos.
Your videos are amazing!
Amazing... iam so going try the loaded brush on my word bearers... ill post a video on my channel to show you how it went ...
Did you paint it all black before you started?
Would love to see you do a Lady Olynder tutorial!
Amazing grazing tip, thank you!
Very cool tutorial, can't paint to paint mines ! Thanks for this. However, with the new "easy build" the seam lines are very showy. Would you have an advice to quickly fill them up?
So cool!
Could you list the brush used? Did you use primer?
Excellent! What size base are you using?
Wow love this Rob, thank you
No problem! I'm glad you like the video and I hope you find my others just as useful :)
Great work👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Amazing tutorial, i was so confused by a bunch of wet blending videos but this is so simple, and it worked out great.
One thing though: the music you use in the background drives me kinda nuts, would be better off just having it silent tbh haha.
Veryyy naise. Good instructions :)

I still feel i'm not 100% on it and you explained loaded brush so well
I do a fair bit of wet blending in the Sepulchral Guard video.
Beautiful
Gorgeous❤
Thanks for sharing. Now I know a new technique!
What do you think about the technical paint (hexwraith glow?) to help painting the glow?
I don't even know what it does so can't comment.
RobPaintsModels
A GW Citadel technical paint. It's kind of like a wash with a green ghostly gloom. I thought of maybe using it together with the loaded brush technique.
I may try it
Stunning ad usual Rob!
Love your work, hope to see more video 😄
Random question :
Any idea for a color to match with a bright purple armor ?
I start painting slaanesh warrior of chaos and I need some good colors for the cloth 😁
Ivory is usually a good match with purple.
Just wondering, why do you go with that scheme for bones as opposed to the usual zandri, sepia, etc. one? Just for a different look or you find it to look better?
Truthfully they were the paints I had out at the time. There are so many ways to paint bone I rarely use the same recipe twice.
Ah gotcha. thanks for the response, ill try out that color scheme for some of the skeletons im working on, seems like it might work for like a commander or something
Looks like taken from Minas Morgul. Love this scheme colour!
Many thanks for this great vid.
Do you airbrush the W&N varnish? If so, follow-up q: thinned or out of the bottle?
Only if there are no metallics otherwise I use a brush to avoid dulling them down. I don't thin it in either case though.
Great video, you have a new subscriber.
I'm loving this technique, but im having a real trouble with it on some of the new Nighhaunt models.
Specifically on Guardian of Souls. It’s all these ”Smoke” ”Ethereal fire” parts.. Any tips?
Really nice video :)
I think I remember Bob Ross use that "loaded brush" in his TV show videos back in the day.
Waldgeist Rob the Boss
Yep, very cool! Loaded brush rules :)
Nice! Why the change of emblem though?
You mean the channel logo? I wanted something that could go on a business card. It might not stay as this particular design but an Imperial Knights face wasn't really an option.
Sweet! Thanx!
Great video
Beautiful figure as always. Thanks for sharing.

We should take this discussion to email.
This is witchcraft
What is this wizardry?
You have given me creamy blends
This but amazing 👇👌
S P O O P Y
That is all.
This isn't my type of colour scheme, but this could win a golden demon
I like the fact that you used citadel paints and there were some good techniques.
Now I need to buy a new army
