  • Welcome to Armory, where we take a look at the lore behind the models. This week we look at the ghostly boogiemen of the Nighthaunt from Age of Sigmar. Because with Halloween around these gorgeous ethereal apparitions are perfectly on theme.

Remember kids! It's not a warcrime if the Geneva Convention doesn't exist!

Lol, but even if it did I don't think it acknowledges Souls as an existing thing.

Back in WHFB Hexwraith were spirits (seemingly not the ghosts of dead people, but things of their own) from the realm of death, that hunted down any soul which somehow escaped (sort of Bounty Hunters/marshals of Morr?). The Necrarch managed to find ways to summon and bind them into service, which is super ironic on account of them basically opposing Undeath. So they were apparently Warhammer Fantasy's Spirit Torments.

Ohw I never knew that, that is actually a really cool piece of lore :o

@@barthelloren Okay minor correction. They emerge on Hexennacht and hunt those that have cheated death not necessarily escaped from it. There's not explicit connection to Morr and what exactly they are is not given. There is however no mention of them being spirits of the deceased at all. They do however absorb the spirit essence of everyone they kill, which is the explanation for the flames in fantasy.

Absolutely loved this video, no filler, straight to the point and so informative. Now I know how Neo felt, after watching the video I thought - "I know Nighthaunt". Subscribed and now looking forward to absorbing your other videos.

This is a great video. I wish more of this existed. Too many youtubers talk about how garbage a unit plays or how OP a character is. Gimme the lore lol

It is sad that, despite this sort of content and your book reviews, the meme vids will remain your most popular for quite a while.
Still, great content, AoS can always use more lore
