    I think you're underrating the gameplay value of hexwraiths. They're just so fast. If you're not charging, they're stupidly fast. Claim objectives, charge seemingly safe support heroes & deal some mortals, just fly up in front of the opponent & block their advance. Yeah they're a bit weak & chaffy, but chaff this fast is big useful. I'd put them in 'C'.

      Yes, this video had too much Hexwraith slander!! (I just like the models, undead horses are cool, pretty good video otherwise)

    The only thing that I have noticed wrong with this video is lady olynder can use her “no rest for the wicked” trait once per battle to bring back slain models, where as nagash can use his invocation of nagash every hero phase
    Other than that loving it

    Dreadblade harrows are probably the highest game play value for 145 points. Opponent can't leave objectives unguarded and it allows you to give half your army 5 up ward, all out attack rerolls to charge etc. Funny interaction if you make awlrack your general you can teleport 3 heroes along with one unit each all around the battlefield. Very memey but not many armies could produce that kind of surprise/escape

    The Mortal Realms Magazines allowed you to pick up so much of these at a fair discount. I picked up Lady Olynder and Kurdoss for £8 each... Depending on your country EBay is still offering many of these sets at a fair discount.
    Last editions started sets were so annoying due to the incomplete unit sizes.

    • @MajorSvenGaming

      Yeah it was great.... I remember picking up the ethereal court for about £12 , 5 Hexwraiths for around £8 and 10 chainrasps for about £10.... Easily have around a 2000pt army for less than £100.
      It's good for one late rules and narrative campaigns with ghosts ect...

    Mournghul yeah is kind of bad. It once was amazing, almost a must field unit, & got nerfed into the ground. I used to use a Necron Nightbringer as one a mournghul counts as, and would still be tempted to run it on occasion since that is a very cool model.

  • @hendrikmoons8218
    @hendrikmoons8218 Год назад +1

    I got 3 of them mournghouls, I realy love the model. They are also a great heavy hiiter in the computer game version.
    That being said, this model belongs more in a flesheater court army.
    Swap out the 4+ unmodifiable safe for "when he causes wounds in any phase, heal that many missing wounds.
    Lower his points to 220ish and he should do fine. With a limit of 1 par 1000 points.

  • @Cadigan1
    @Cadigan1 Год назад +1

    You didn't cover the Sorrowmourn Choir box with Lady Olynder, 8 Myrmourn banshees and 10 dreadscythe harridans. I recommend anyone interested in starting an army to look at local stores for deals. I found the Sorrowmourn Choir box for 70 euros.

  • @Malisteen
    @Malisteen 2 года назад

    The vanguard box is nice, but it's brought down a bit by the Knight of Shrouds on foot really just being a very lackluster hero, when the competition for hero slots in this army is brutal. Olynder, kurdoss, reikenor, awlrach, cruciator, torment, guardian, executioner, dreadblade... these heroes are all amazing. Fitting a knight of shrouds in is a really tough sell. Even if you do want one, you'll want the mounted version, which is not only faster and tougher but also has a better command ability rule.
    So basically the vanguard box should be rated as though it didn't include a hero at all. Still a decent way to grab a bunch of battleline, especially if you want chainrasps, but personally I'd only rate it an 'A'.

  • @NexUtInfinitus
    @NexUtInfinitus 2 года назад +1

    You kind of lost me when you gave Spirit hosts a B and Hexwraiths a C. Spirit hosts are auto include to bodyguard your hero’s. Hexwraiths can double there move, cap objectives from across the table and can be included in bounty hunters. Both should have been A or S tier.

  • @lockepersonal
    @lockepersonal 2 года назад

    Can't decide between this army and Flesheater Courts. FC are older, but some models are spectacular.

  • @Malisteen
    @Malisteen 2 года назад

    I'd also rate the value of the ethereal court a bit lower. The problem is the spirit torment - these heroes are good, but there's a chainghast unit meant to go with it that you'd like to have as an option, but the chainghasts are only available in a box that comes with a different, imo better, torment. There are times when you might run a torment without chainghasts, or two torments, so it's not a completely worthless inclusion, but between the torment and the mounted knight of shrouds (better than the non-mounted version, but still hard to fit in the new rules), you're basically paying a huge tax for access to your basic support wizard guardian of souls. Overall I'd call the bundle a 'B', but imo most new nighthaunt players would be better off looking to pick up just the guardian from resellers on ebay.

  • @afireinsidebrad
    @afireinsidebrad Год назад

    For a 1k game i plan on running a Warlord regiment, with Knight of Shrouds on Steed, 2 Dreadblade Harrows, a Guardian of Souls, 20-man chainrasps, and 5-man hexwraiths
    Knight has the Soulfire Ring and Hatred of the Living, Guardian knows Lifestealer
    What do we think of this list?

    • @BudgetWaaagh
      @BudgetWaaagh Год назад +1

      Looks solid/fun to me! You'll have a lot of mobility and nighthaunt in general have a lot of staying power. I'm not a super competitive player by any means but best way to get a feel for any list or army is getting games in with it
