  • In this video I'll be showing a quick and easy method of painting up a Nighthaunt Chainrasp The techniques are all straight forward, though there is a small amount of wet blending. Don't be put off, it's a very quick method that gives decent results and will have your miniatures looking great for the tabletop.

    I’ve had my half of the box set sitting built based and primed white like your …since not long after it came out,liked that there was not an air brush in sight🙂🤟 your painting scheme and a few twists and I actually think I could paint this entire Army b4 Halloween ,,,thank u 4 the Inspiration

      Yerse! That’d what I like to hear, Ian! I tried an airbrush for a while but couldn’t take the cleaning all the time, so just spray cans for undercoats and brushes after that. It may not be as quick but I love brush painting :)

      Cheers Isamu64, much appreciated! :) They're such great miniatures. When you look back at the old metal ghosts and similar the nighthaunts just look a lot more ghostly and floaty! I love them! :)

    This is the best painting scheme I've seen!!! But, a quick question: what primer did you use for this model? It already has a bit of shading to it, and I'd love to capture that with my nighthaunt too!

    • @BrushandBoltgun
      @BrushandBoltgun  Год назад

      Cheers Natalie, very much appreciated! :) It’s actually just white spray (either GW, Halfords or Army Painter). The camera doesn’t like white minis on white background so goes very ‘cold’ and makes bits look pale blue and shaded. It is just sprayed white though. :)

    Will white scar do the same as what you had for you base? Also what colors did you use because that white base looks like it has a hint of blue turquoise in it

    • @BrushandBoltgun
      @BrushandBoltgun  Год назад

      Hey The Townhouse, thanks for watching! It was just TT Combat white spray paint. The camera kept going wonky filming it and giving it a cool/light blue look, but it is just plain white. I’m sure white scar would be sound. :)

    Rob, are you a member of any of the Mortal Realms facebook groups ? I note there are a lot of newcomers to the hobby joining these groups so your paint tips could be very useful to them.

      Hey there Beyond hope! I'm in a few of them but I'm never certain whether they'd get the hump if I posted up there? May give them a message and see what the script is. Good thinking! :-)

    Great video again, thank you! Just a quick question, do you use varnish to seal your models afterwards? I only paint my minis for display purposes and so I don't really think it's necessary (different story of course for tabletop) but was interested to know your thoughts?

    • @BrushandBoltgun
      @BrushandBoltgun  3 года назад +1

      Cheers Tom, very much appreciated! :) I do! I use Halfords Matt Lacquer. I think it's meant for cars, but it's a really good varnish and I've never had any problems with it. Worst thing I've had is being distracted and spraying it too close, gave it a shine, but that's the same with any varnish. Cheap and in a spray can, so worth a look! :)

    Hi! I like your videos! I have a silly question at first step, when you use nighthaunt gloom and nihilakh oxide, do you use both or could be we choose below both paints?

    • @BrushandBoltgun
      @BrushandBoltgun  4 года назад

      Thanks Oscar, much appreciated. To be honest, you could paint the ethereal bits in either. I have some painted with Hexwraith Flame, then the glaivewraiths are Nighthaunt Gloom, Nihilakh Oxide and Black. I think provided you get the fade to white you could really play about with the colours you use. :-)

      Hey there hybridharris, thanks for watching. It’s sprayed with Halfords white primer initially. :)
