- HLG3 | Premiere PRO Color Grading Workflow
In Today's Video I’ll show you my Premiere Pro Editing workflow to bring your HLG 3 Footage alive. I’ll show you my Sequence Settings, the LUTs I’m using, my color correction process and my export settings. There might be a thousand different ways to edit your footage and in the past few years I tried several, but the one I’m showing you today worked best for me.

Thank you this was great!!!
I’ve been looking for a video like this one to explain the whole process in PP. I bought the Leeming luts for my Sony Hlg3 footage and was struggling with the modify settings. Thank you very much for making this video and explaining it step by step. I’m an instant fan and will be watching more of your content! Thanks from Pennsylvania, USA!
Such a nice comment to read in the morning 🙏🙏 happy I could offer some value.
Thanks man!!! Was changing the colour space, but that LUT tip is EXACTLY what I was looking for. Watched a few videos for this, and yours was the COMPLETE answer! Thank you
Thanks 🙏 your comment made my day
Nice little tutorial, thanks for taking the time to make it. I believe you may have forgotten to show us the export settings, as you mentioned it in your intro :)
Thank you 🙏 you're totally right. Still planning to do an updated video to cover the export settings
Nice tutorial! When we work with 4K footage, isnt it better to set to Rec 2020? Rec 709 isnt for HD only?
Great job with the colors. Hello from Las Vegas! If you are ever this way let me know. Quick question, what is the purpose of the Leeming Lut converter if we are already converting it to Rec 709? I usually film in a different PP but really seeing the benefits of HLG3 so trying to understand it better.
Thanks 👌🏼
The first step is only to set the working color space in Adobe to Rec 709.
Leeming Lut Adjusts the colors and contrasts. You could do it manually as well. For me it's more precise and convenient.
HI, if i shoot HLG (Rec709) do i need to change to rec709 in color space override ? Or i just leave use media color space from file and can immediately do color corection ? Thank you!
In that case you don't need to convert. But BT2020 is actually the recommended color space for HLG3. You have the possibility to capture more colors and have more possibilities for color grading.
@@nils.buecker Thank you for information!
but why did you change to rec 709 from the media and the sequence and the LUT . isn't all the same? I'm lost :(
but converting to rec 709 am I not loosing dynamic range? what's the purpose of shooting HLG3 at first? (sorry but I am new with coloring )
I'm sorry. I just saw that I never answered your comment.
BT2020 has a wider color range, but most monitors can't display it.
That's why you convert it to rec 709. But you still have more margins for color grading.
can u share HLG3 For rec709?
@L S: contact me on instagram: baerli92 we can split the cost!
@@LS-is5ob it's 32€, and you bought probably a 1000€ camera and lenses, what is 30€ for something that you will use everyday and something that will save you lots of time ?
