  • I will do a before and after test to compare if tension spring does something to the FPS on this dan wesson.

    Even if it will not increase the fps. Making it more stable could be a worthwile endeavor I believe. The question is the strain on the parts - it could decrease the longetivity of the internal mechanism (also making the cocking and the double action trigger harder)

      Thats true
      So is it worth doing ? Probably not
      😆 i made this video to debunk al those people that go: yeah bro you should stick some cardboard between the spring, mine has got over 500 fps now, bruh! 🤣😅

      @@HappyDude1 I was checking this video as I wanted to buy one and by mistake I ended buying two :) (for a price of one new one)
      Both were second hand, one in almost new condition, the other fully functional, but showing signs of ware.
      What I have found is that the almost new one has harder hammer spring, which suggests to me that this fix might work in case of weak hammer spring. Unfortunately I don't have a chrono and the range seems similar to me (about 50 meters, the new-ish one seems to be more accurate and consistent) so it's just a speculation.
      One other idea might be that it could affect heavier ammo more as that spends more time (using the gas more efficiently) in the barrel and the fps creep is a thing.

    • @HappyDude1
      @HappyDude1  2 года назад +1

      @the dutohlav
      My spring is also weaker because of the extra tension 😅
      Its best to leave it alone
      And maybe you should also buy a chrono to test the fps

      @@HappyDude1 hi buddy, I got far more that 500 ft,ps out of my Dan Wesson! it must have been going well over 5,000 ft,ps, "before it hit the ground and it killed an Elefant sone dead on the first hit!", I throw it out an aircraft flying at 10,000 feet high!, ha, ha, ha, got yer! ok lets stop joking around now, the answer is yes you can get a little more out of a 6 inch Dan Wesson, but it's only a little more! nothing like 500 ft,ps though! unless your firing 1 grain ball's!, and you can "improve it" without spending any money on it too! first take out the power valve, then carefully strip it down by undoing the brass screw. once undone gentle re-move the valve, watching for any other bit's that can and will come out with it, it should come out like this,, valve, spring, flat washer, "O" ring, also inside the valve body is free floating an aluminum ring. do not re-fit that aluminum ring, you can leave that part out as it's only a gas volume restrictor, that aluminum ring is not fitted inside the 2 inch snubby Dan Wesson as being a short Ars revolver and hence it has a bit more power to push to get the pellet/ ball out with! now is the tricky part, with a very good pair of wire cutters cut off one Coile from the valve spring, that valve spring is way over the top in strength to start with, all it needs to do is close the bloody valve, and nothing more than that! you could try putting in a lighter spring! but I just chopped mine down a bit, remember it must still close that valve "but only very lightly", however it's the Co2 gas pressure that slams the valve closed, and it keep's it closed, until the hammer strikes it bumping it open, and that is it, now carefully put the valve back together again and Wack it back into the revolver!, now you listen to the crack it makes when fired! I cannot tell you just how much power you will get as I cannot be bothered to crony mine, and all crony's read different anyhow! a lot comes down to Temperature, humidity. exact weight of shot, tightness of barrel (or lack of it!), and your willingness to be bitterly disappointed! but I can say is my Dan Wesson now shoots 6 inches higher than it did over the same distance! and a lot of plastic ball's go right through the same box I was shooting at, and come right back at me, still carrying a great deal of force! like "ouch, I just shot myself, again!" this is what I have done as a modification to my Dan Wesson, but then, I know what I am doing, (honk honk!) but if you do it, you do it at your own risk! however if you do fu£k it up, a new valve only cost's £20! have fun, and stay safe

    If you want to increase the speed, several operations must be done:
    * Increase the diameter of the gas hole with a drill, but very little. So that it dumps out more gas. Or, insert a weaker valve spring. Then it will also dump out more gas.
    * Mill out some material behind the hammer with, for example, a dremel stone, and thereby get longer and stronger blows with the hammer.
    * And, replace the hammer spring with a harder one.
    Then you will probably increase fps by 25-30. Possibly more.
    But is also a risk. It's a bit of a game of chance.

      The key to increasing the fps is increasing the air pressure and hammer hitting power.then it will work.of cause if you have professional machine.you can design a new valve and it will work better.but remember if you do not have professional tools i don't recommend modify valve.because i tried before.and its not that easy.according to my experience.after i managed modify umerex and i turn it to a pcp pistol.and now it can work on 20mpa air cylinder.and the hammer has enough force to open the valve.now it works perfect and so powerful.

    Don’t forget kid, FPS =/= Joule (Power).
    Just because a BB is faster it doesn’t mean it’s more powerful in comparison to a heavier BB with less FPS.
    FPS doesn’t really matter.
    I have .44 cal S&M Magnum 3" airsoft revolver. Meaning 6mm.
    And I have 0.25g plastic BBs and .90g steel BBs.
    The 0.25g plastic BBs are way faster than the steel BBs. But the steel bbs with 0.90g do have way more power even though they are slower and lose velocity faster. Tested it against a door. Plastic BBs bounced off, the steel BBs went straight through by a shooting distance of around 7meters.
    Speed =/= power. It depends on the weight of the projectile.

    Does your pistol have a 4.5mm barrel that opens into a larger 6mm barrel 'shroud'? I've heard that these 6 inchers have only 2.5" of effective rifled barrel.
    That could be the reason why the hammer spring mod did not work. We well know that releasing more CO2 won't work after a certain point considering the barrel length is kept fixed.

      Indeed, the idea with gas is when you hit the valve harder it opens up more and more gas goes trough and you get more fps. But it allready opens up completely so it doesn't matter how hard you hit it. Unless there is a weak spring in it from the factory. If you want more FPS you need more pressure

    • @PHATTSTER
      @PHATTSTER Год назад

      @@HappyDude1 more likely that the valve even if fully opened by the hammer striking it does not have the volume inside it to hold enough gas to push the BB any faster, and I can tell you now that it don't! power as in ft,ps comes down to gas presser, valve gas flow, and valve overlap timing!, if the gas valve has little capacity, or presser, or under timed, you won't get power, if the gas valve is over timed, you waste gas! but with a little mod done to the valve you can get a little more out of it! but at a cost of using more Co2 up with every shot, so you need to balance the tension of the hammer spring with its striking ability to fully open the valve, and that is all it needs to do! smacking it like a sledgehammer is not needed. and you can improve the gas valve capacity but not very much, however it dose improve the power.
