If you must move to Idaho from some other state keep in mind that TWIN FALLS is the WORST place in the world to move to. Stay away at ALL cost. The skeeters are as big as magpies. The property taxes are like the national debt. If you even look at some other persons' property you will be SHOT ON SITE! It's like 125 degrees in the summer and 50 below in the winter...no middle ground there. In the summer when they spray the crops you will be poisoned daily. The drivers are horrible...they run you off the road for no reason and then they keep driving back and forth so you can't get back on the road. The wind blows constantly at 75 mph all spring and summer and also in the winter when it snows. Oh, the snow is like 10 feet deep every winter! Even deeper with the wind. The drifts are high enough you can reach up and touch the power lines! Some people fall through the drifts and are lost until late spring. Very scary in the spring...dead bodies everywhere - mostly under the power lines!! Crime is horrible. Gangs will kidnap your daughters and recruit your sons. They will put demonic tatoos on your cat! They will paint your front door with goat blood. When it rains it will flood your basement and drown your pets. Then the snakes come out and will infest your garage. Don't go out at night or you can be kidnapped by sasquatch. Yes...they are HERE! If you MUST move to Idaho please move to the Boise area where the weather is perfect, the wind never blows and no one has ever heard of a skeeter! You have been warned!

the pandemic killed it off. The Univ wasn't holding classes, or did only online. The housing prices spiked to unheard of. The rents doubled so avg folks couldn't afford them and most of the property management places are CROOKS, the property taxes went up. And most of the biz PULLED out. You can't survive on vape shops and car washes for employment. Other than those they have p/t work. So of course you have drunks, addicts, and drug pushers left. Generational biz couldn't sustain being forced to close. The city will hire OUT of STATE contract places to work on infrastructure rather than locals. We were supposed to get a whole NEW thriving addition, shopping malls, etc. Instead we got a temple. When ward attendance is down. Sorry that doesn't help the town GROW. In fact it scares off a lot of biz that would rather go up to Idaho Falls where diversity and inclusion is better. Oh but we have the new improved FBI spot that does more data collection. I.E. spying on civilians-that is really what the town & nation needed NOT. The city council will NOT listen to anyone that has good ideas. Oh and we got Lori Vallow Daybell in the correctional facility. The nutcase that killed her husbands and kids.

@@janjbowman Yep. Oregon was great since a bunch of my family moved here back in the 80's. But now, the liberals have a plan, it seems, to make everything broken, so that everyone is terrified and dependent. Even in the rural areas, the state laws and budget stuff is causing problems.
We tried to make do, but we can't have our children here anymore. It's not safe. So we're having to move to Idaho. We'd move to a state where less people are going (I understand Idahoans are sick of the influx. I sympathize) but my husband's company requires him to live in 1 of the 3 PNW states. And WA is even worse than OR (at least when it comes to the war on parents).
So, Idaho it is. We have to do what we have to do to keep our kids safe.

I had to leave CO where I had moved eons ago to escape CA. Problem they came there, jacked up the prices, are desperately trying to make it lil Cali. Then amendment 64 brought the growers, in a state where the water rights were bought up by CA long ago. Agriculture has to compete with the grows that STINK to high heaven. Kids are all experimenting with the edibles, with bad results. CO is ruined. They also landed in TX and ID and TX want them to GO back to CA. I have lived in Payette for over 30 years. The crime is very minor. l agree that there are few high paying jobs. Idaho needs to start putting money into education and children. They are the source of our future. That is a problem all over in the state of Idaho. People come here to retire and buy up homes. The real estate and rents are ridiculous for the wages in Idaho. People born in Idaho now can seldom afford to live here.😥

love the question actually! how i see it, is people are moving here. they are going to use me as their agent, or if i don't work hard, they will use the next person. and two more points. 1 - does this economy not benefit all? look what happened to detroit as a hug example. when real estate is healthy, the econmoy is healthy. 2 - are we not all transplants? Example, if i move into a neighborhood, then should i not be welcome there? same with out of staters. side point, in many ways, i wish we still had "life, liberty and property" as our natural rights. its a big deal and i am proud to help! love the question because i am probably most passionate about that answer than any other :)

Had a guy at the Independence Range in Meridian walk away from me when I flipped my cross out onto my black tee-shirt. I have tattoos of Jesus, Mary and Crosses, got stares yet nobody bats an eyelash at that in New York City. I called the people "Pod People", boring, bland, disinterrsted in learning about others. @@Progen77 dude the tattoo's were probably the issue. If you had a tattoo of Joseph Smith it might have been tolerated-just kidding-no LDS would do that as body art isn't encouraged. NYC is highly inclusive...not so much in ID & UT. Let's just say they have strict guidelines on dress, body art, and well everything. Mary isn't something most would recognize, and crosses are offensive. Which is kinda of silly as most LDS will display pictures of temples in their home. Crosses are just not their thing. If you have more of a RCC vibe, and Jesus on a cross, that is definitely not done in their churches (wards). The focus for them is Joseph Smith, and all their current prophets. They believe they are the one TRUE church and everyone else isn't aware of their full gospel. I bet you scared a lot of people as different STANDS out more in Idaho, lol.
