Another incredible part about Sora VS Nokt is that her creating a techno-bee, is a callback to her threatening to do it with the tech of Rapton, in S1E7.
What I also like about the Jay vs Nya fight is how Jay is the first ninja to use Shatterspin just like how Jay was the first ninja to learn Spinjitzu in the pilot episodes
I definitely agree with your number one pick here! Frak and Sora’s character work was amazing in this fight, and gave me a whole lot of respect for Frak. I really do hope he becomes a Ninja, because he has seriously earned it!
Something fun about the fights with Lloyd and Sora in particular are how much their relationship grows throughout the season. When Sora stresses after Lloyd falls into a coma, I really felt for her - it also makes her next match against Frak more intriguing, since this is her first match without someone she's come to rely on and genuinely view as a mentor figure. She presses on, in the same way Lloyd had done in prior seasons whenever Wu wasn't there. Really hoping we explore more of the dynamic between Lloyd and Sora in season three too.
Tbh I'm kinda inclined to disagree on #15 because I think that the reason that fight works is because Cinder just tries to "brute force" his way through things, fighting right off the bat, while Sora keeps her focus on what's really important, preferring to fight only when necessary to keep Cinder off her back. I think it's a good showcase of her character and even personality, in the sense that she's a pretty general person and doesn't take hard to holding grudges. Still though, nice video! I enjoyed it.
My favorite fight out of the tournament of sources is Lloyd vs Ziatrix the animation and high stakes and the pay off for Lloyd’s vision really helped it.
One good thing about Sora vs Cinder shows is the same thing we get out of Cinder vs Nokt: Cinder is a one-trick-pony, and kind of a small fish outside of shatterspin.
DRS2 Has some of the best fight scenes in a show, so it's funny that my top 5 didn't come from the literal fighting tournament that took place Also just gotta say your EPs are INCREDIBLE. I listen to them literally every day. I was wondering, how much of the instruments are real and how much is MIDI? Can't wait for the next ones!!
Thank you! The songs are basically all MIDI but I’d love to record live instrument versions eventually. It’s just a matter of finding the right team/equipment/studio space to do it.
@@bendobricks Okay yeah that makes sense. There are times where it doesn't sound like MIDI at all and more like the real things so congrats for that XD
I wish all these fights ( minus some ) were a little longer, and given different objectives, something like Euphrasia VS Zeatrix is fine…just boring like you said. I think your top 5 make, and least five all make sense. My personally favourite fight ( though definitely not the best ) is Lloyd VS Mr.Pale, went on just the right amount of time, actually felt like a bit of a fight, good character work and to me…showed a friendship Lloyd seemed to have developed with someone outside the team ( kinda like how Cole has Karlof, Lloyd has Pale ). Have a great day man, nice work!
Really did show how strong Nokt it and the threat him and the 5 could bring since we don’t know what the other 4 are capable of if just one of them is this strong
I loved the fast paced fights of this tournament, but I think in some ways, the Ninja were dumbed downed or nerfed to advance the plot. This might just be may, but my brain couldn’t help but come up with scenarios of how the Ninja could have won each fight, or at least have done better. For example, Zane could have frozen the ground in a sheet of Ice, making Zur slip, which could have let Zane get a chance to knock him out. Sora could have used her Tech powers to cause the floating platforms to malfunction, and make them drop her opponent, or Lloyd could have used his powers against Nokt, like making a figment clone of himself to distract Nokt, while sneaking up behind, invisible using Light, only for Nokt to sense him with Mind. If just felt like there were a lot of missed opportunities.
Bendo, do you plan to do another video like one about Ice chapter? Like - 1 hour long, analysing everything about season... And if you plan to do another one then which season do you plan to do.
I want to eventually get into doing deep dives on the Oni Trilogy and Seabound respectively but I’m not entirely sure when I’ll get around to doing them.
The animation and visuals are great but the choreography and ideas for most of the fights could've been way better there was too much gimmicky stuff going on. The only in tournament fight that was fully good imo was sora vs nokt imo it was the only one with great fight scenes without any extra stuff getting in the way like trash game ideas or trash dialogue. And i like that even though they both had a gazillion powers at that point, that they weren't using them like obnoxious pokemon trainers and were just straight up going for eachothers heads on blitz mode. Like lloyd vs zeatrix they were just doing way too much zeatrix was riding in a bubble like a hover tank and lloyd was shrinking ant sized and then it's like bruh.
With the Lloyd vs Zeatrix fight, I cant blame lloyd for dreading it. I mean, how hars do you have to hit someone with a CRYSTAL SWORD to literally SHATTER it??? 💀
That is also a very high possibility but I’d still be willing to believe that Nokt’s shatterspin could be powerful enough to counter rising dragon regardless. Not sure about everyone else tho.
Honestly I didn’t really care for any of the fights that much. Not that they were bad by any means, they just weren’t really my thing. I thought the best by far was Nya vs Jay but that was more so for the story than the actual fight
Rising dragon can break through the energy barrier created by shatter spin, allowing you to hit the user when they are charging up/using the barrier for defense.
@Bendobricks i have a serious concern for dragons rising,I believe it's respecting the charecter of Lloyd but not what came before let me explain,So Lloyd is nerfed and his element isn't special anymore(the baby dragon has it too),yes i do not want him to win every single time but it feels like the writers just don't respect what came before for this character by changing it constantly yes change can be for the better like sora said but right now it's demolishing the legacy certain characters had,I want him to teach that baby dragon his element or protect him, protect another chosen one, that's good writing, but right now specially in S2 part 2 little of what we see for Lloyd is actually Lloyd, other fans have said this before(yes being in toxic ways) but this is an actual problem,What do you think?
19:30 In my opinion this fight is very anti climactic,Hear me out,Why in the 16 realms give him a fight and fackout of him losing if he actually is gonna lose his next fight, this is good charecter work but terrible storytelling to me
Another incredible part about Sora VS Nokt is that her creating a techno-bee, is a callback to her threatening to do it with the tech of Rapton, in S1E7.
Omg I didn’t get that Such an awesome callback
Ok, but the callback to the techno-bee in the Sora VS Nokt fight from "Mindless Beasts" was great to see.
I guess you could say that was, un-BEE-livable.
@@KTWhatsup Sir, take my like and leave. 😂

Jays quick everytime
He's as fast as lightning, bro.

People were upset with the quality before s2p2? I loved the fights and was just blown away on how they managed to improve on perfection
Dragons rising has literally changed ninjago, forever.

Thank you. Believe it or not this was the exact video i wanted to see someone do
A funny detail about Mr Pale’s real face is his uneven facial hair since he obviously can’t shave well due to his face being invisible.
One good thing about Sora vs Cinder shows is the same thing we get out of Cinder vs Nokt: Cinder is a one-trick-pony, and kind of a small fish outside of shatterspin.
“Arin turning on Sora”
Hearing that out of context 😂
When Lloyd faces against zeatrix, bro really became an avenger [ Cap's shield, Thor's hammer and the element of size which is similar to antman]
11:35 he has the most devastating power of them all. He's... *nice* ... to his friends, and his enemies

5:23 i mean i always interpreted that didn't work because lloyd was injured

@@bendobrickswe see nokt counter nya's rising dragon in part 1's finale so I think you're right
This isn't in the tournament but the fact that Kai solos Nokt who has all the elemental powers.
Honestly I didn’t really care for any of the fights that much. Not that they were bad by any means, they just weren’t really my thing. I thought the best by far was Nya vs Jay but that was more so for the story than the actual fight
I hope they keep using rising dragon and not abandon the technique
Why was it maybe Lloyd got overpowered cause of his injury against nokt
Rising dragon can break through the energy barrier created by shatter spin, allowing you to hit the user when they are charging up/using the barrier for defense.
The fact that the master of the mind could beat the master of nature but not the master of "brute force" is honestly just depressing
Same dude I love tournaments
Also maybe Lloyd having to forfeit was cause if he lost in the end sora may have lost all her confidence
Imagine if Lloyd did win though. That'd mean he be forced to fight Sora.
