Here is a list of my hand-picked favorite DVD menus from this James Bond Special Edition DVD Collection: 1st: Moonraker (gives me the chills thanks to an excellent score by John Barry and the beautiful, immersive animations) [6:42 - 7:39] 2nd: Diamonds Are Forever (the most epic DVD menu in my opinion for this collection due to the animation and the fantastic orchestral/symphonic version of the James Bond theme) [4:13 - 5:00] 3rd: On Her Majesty's Secret Service (the second most awesome DVD menu) [3:18 - 4:12] 4th: The Living Daylights (very intense and fits with the atmosphere of the film) [9:58 - 10:42] 5th: Licence To Kill (same opinions as the TLD SE DVD menu) [10:43 - 11:10] 6th: The Man With The Golden Gun (unique in its goldenly way and manages to be both immersive and creepy at the same time) [5:34 - 6:07] Honorable Mentions: Octopussy, GoldenEye, Tomorrow Never Dies, You Only Live Twice, Die Another Day, From Russia With Love, Live and Let Die, Dr. No, Goldfinger and The World is Not Enough Dishonorable Mentions: For Your Eyes Only, Thunderball, A View to a Kill and The Spy Who Loved Me
I kinda wished the Blu-Ray editions of the 007 movies had used these menus instead of the ultimate edition ones. These ones have more personality and are much more unique.
Ive noticed Diamonds are Forever and The Living Daylights menus (my favourite ones) used a version of the bond theme that is extremely difficult to find and is not heard in either of the films, how ever its really well done. Anyone know where to locate this version of the theme by any chance or what its proper name is?
Loved these menus! Few observations 1. Great job finding the right themes and aesthetics to fit these movies 2. Laziest menu definitely For Your Eyes Only 3. I don't even think Diamonds Are Forever has that John Barry cue - different movie?? 4. My favorite menus are probably Moonraker and Goldfinger 5. Those Activate prompts are equally cool across the board 6. Too many movies that same 80s Barry cue. 7. What's with Licence To Kill just going quiet right away? I mean, it KINDA fits, but c'mon give Michael Kamen some love. 8. GoldenEye music isnt even in the movie (but it's on the soundtrack)
Nope. I love those as well. IMHO Die Another Day has everything you could want wrapped up in one Bond movie! (Girl in bikini, twist henchgirl, rich psycho baddie, lasers, gadgets, the car, etc) Moonraker is unfairly hated because of a few silly moments. Otherwise, it's a completely amazing adventure. Love the return of Jaws and the Drax space plot. One of the better non-Blofeld Bond villains. :)
This is what I miss the most from DVD editions in general, the attention when it comes to menus. I miss those James Bond menus.
This was my childhood! My parents r pretty cool so I grew up watching these in bits and pieces. To this day I love bond movies! 😎

That cue and variations of it play in many many many movies
Dr. No and Diamonds Are Forever used The James Bond Theme recorded on many James Bond Collections by the City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra.
Some of the ones I have are different (on top of that “please activate mission”), namely Dr No, Goldfinger, You Only Live Twice and possibly others
Am I the only one who love Die Another Day and Moonraker ?
Paul Hui no ur not the only one, I love those ones too!
Emily Luther finally! Good for you

Better than ultimate menu version

Drown would now red walk Spiders!
The European dvd menus are better
kim98 please, show me on youtube
I don't have any but a lot of them look different and they don't have the "Please activate you navigation system" voice
kim98 you mean Ultimate edition, that - special edition. In Europe the same version with voiceover with same menu
Really, well I live in Australia, so the Australian version of the Special Edition dvd's are different
kim98 your region is number 5 or 2 on dvd box? For example, 1 - north america, 2 - japan, 5 - eastern europe
Rockets Lawyer not your enemy. Done Can Laws your Mission Impossible Driver's Mission Impossible Night Vision CCTV Sergeant!
Ultimate Edition DVDs are better.
