This is legitimately one of the best Covers I’ve ever heard. Every aspect of this is perfect. Everything is heavy, but still Soulful and Melodic… The drums, the vocals, the lead, the bass… These guys just play so damn well together. The way the vocals and the lead are supported by the Bass-player keeping the perfect pulse, while the Drummer is keeping the perfect groove-while also playing tasteful, satisfying fills… What else can I say - These guys are just really fuckin good.
This is awesome for sure...great vocals and playing. But my vote for the complete best RUclips cover of this song is: ruclips.net/video/NrV2Kfqv36k/видео.html
You knocked my socks off. As an old dude, that flew a freak flag, I know you get it. Sorta like Stevie Ray met Stills there. I dig it. Great playing and singing. You have the curse. You will look outside the box for answers in music and life. Play on Youngblood!
Yeah, great call: Stills meets SRV. I'm ancient too, so Stills was one of my guitar heroes back in the day. Few people these days realize the esteem he was once held in as a guitar player. In those old Playboy music polls he used to be ranked right up there with Clapton in the blues and rock categories, and higher in acoustic. Its not that us oldies don't still hold him in high esteem, but rather that he's faded from view among younger guys.
It's kinda weird to see Davy playing a strat. He should more often! Although the Tele he is currently playing in 2018 sounds mighty too. But wow, what a performance here! Incredible!
WOW!!!!! So I wanted to hear Almost Cut My Hair and seen this cover and thought, "Well I will listen this F-IN guy chop the song all to hell". And DAMN was I surprised! This cover literally Blew Me Away!!!!!!! Never heard on Davey before but he just gained himself +1 fan! WOW, just WOW!!!!!!!!!!!
Davy messaged me on Facebook years ago around the time his first album came out he gave me some great advice. Was 15 when I discovered him in guitar world. And he became my guitar Idol..my playing always has a little hint of Davy Knowles in it. One of the few guys with their own truly unique sound.
Fantastic version! Stumbled upon this a few weeks ago and have been watching it 20+ times since then. Davy Knowles - you've got yourself a new fan! Inspiring guitar work!
Un-like most young people today.. These guys really hit the " MARK " in a class- less music industry that mostly, rewards talent- less so called, stars... Thanks to to guys like this..( BLUES MUSIC ) , still. has a pulse!!!!! BLUES-POWER !!!!!
I have to admit I was not expecting much when I saw a young guy playing this but has both a great voice and conveys the emotion of the original - well done! Also great sentiment expressed via solo on guitar
I saw these guys in 2019 in Morristown, N.J. (I'm lucky to live 10 minutes away!) and Davy and his buddies blew my mind. This was their encore and I was so thrilled....one of my favorites. Great video!
Absolutely great performance. Amazing voice and guitar. This guy is going to be a legend Mark my words. Hopefully he does not let fame ruin him like so many do.
I saw them open for Chickenfoot in NYC 2010. Davy Knowles sounds like a blend of Stevie Winwood, Paul Rogers and Billy Gibbons. They kicked some ass that that night, for sure !
It was about 2009 or so (they were all teenagers then) that I first saw Back Door Slam. Quickly became one of my favorites. This guy can play & sing with the best of them.
Davey gives a reason for a strat to exist. Fender did not realise what their strat could do until this man picked one up. Davey a product of pure Isle of Man .
This was back in the days when he was still playing with his mates from the Isle of man before the corporate suits decided that he needed a pro-band. They were really good too
Happened to hear them doing outside woman blues...made a trip into the city to see them at the Hammerstein, and they just blew the roof off the place....his playing is effortless, and his voice is just as good
This is legitimately one of the best Covers I’ve ever heard.

Same guy years later. ruclips.net/video/zamNyFrgXQ0/видео.html
This kid has some unbelievable tone on that strat.
really
great voice
Davy can make a Gibson sound good!
this is the same kid with a Tele, he just grew up a little in this vid :) ruclips.net/video/zamNyFrgXQ0/видео.html
Really sick colour too. Anybody know what it’s called?
The best cover of this song hands down...
This is awesome for sure...great vocals and playing. But my vote for the complete best RUclips cover of this song is:

That's exactly what Davy Knowles does. Perfect description!
Guitar wank actually.
You knocked my socks off. As an old dude, that flew a freak flag, I know you get it. Sorta like Stevie Ray met Stills there. I dig it. Great playing and singing. You have the curse. You will look outside the box for answers in music and life. Play on Youngblood!

12 years later, and still incredible. Keep going Davy !
Only the best musicians can sing and sound like they're an old blues guy but actually turn out to be like 20. That's good shit.
Top notch. I watched this multiple times - and that doesn't happen often. Well done!
Davy messaged me on Facebook years ago around the time his first album came out he gave me some great advice. Was 15 when I discovered him in guitar world. And he became my guitar Idol..my playing always has a little hint of Davy Knowles in it. One of the few guys with their own truly unique sound.
he sure does make that Strat sound good.
Jaw-dropping cover!! ... This guy is a really good bluesman... with all the letters!!

I couldn't agree more. The very best cover I have heard ever!!!!! Amazing......thank you for a beautiful homage to David Crosby R.I.P. 🎸❤
So much energy in his playing, powerful stuff.
That is just bloody brilliant! Completely under appreciated! Davey is an elite guitarist and his voice is fabulous as well!
Fantastic version! Stumbled upon this a few weeks ago and have been watching it 20+ times since then. Davy Knowles - you've got yourself a new fan! Inspiring guitar work!

Pure Blues. This was an experience thank you
I have to admit I was not expecting much when I saw a young guy playing this but has both a great voice and conveys the emotion of the original - well done! Also great sentiment expressed via solo on guitar
If I had a Tardis I would definitely go to this show!
I saw these guys in 2019 in Morristown, N.J. (I'm lucky to live 10 minutes away!) and Davy and his buddies blew my mind. This was their encore and I was so thrilled....one of my favorites. Great video!
You owned this song with your axe and vocals...you were the vessel...you didnt block the flow...just....WOW!!!!!
Love this guy...
Listen to this all night!
this guy nailed it. between his guitar and voice he nailed.
Absolutely great performance. Amazing voice and guitar. This guy is going to be a legend Mark my words. Hopefully he does not let fame ruin him like so many do.
Awww, yeah! One of the best versions of this cool tune I’ve heard. Well done, guys!
Nice cover guys! One of my favorites!
Great Cover of one of the best Pop-Rock songs ever written by Crosby, Stills and Nash. Great performance! :-)
This format was the best ever such a shame they didn't stick together
I quite like his current lineup though. The drummer and keyboard player he has now compliment his style and sound perfectly in my opinion.
This band is AMAZING!!!!
Unbelievable tone. You just kill it! AWSOMEEEE!
Great job! Thank you for posting and for a great job on a classic...
I was lucky enough to see them in a small club "The Yale" in Vancouver, B.C.,Canada, a few years back , an amazing guitarist

I've watched a-lot of his covers of this song and this one is w/o question the best IOM.......that energy!!!!!!
Nice cover. I felt it. God bless you.
Love him!! He's wearing a Led Zeppelin shirt!! That's my man!
The band name is taken from the lyrics to a 'Zep song - "Since I've been loving you" I think...
Dam!!!!!! really enjoy this great job .. keep on keeping on.,ROCKIN
Great chops and soul, he definately loved SRV!
First time I ever saw him was this show and it was this song on RUclips from an earlier show that caused me to go see him. Thanks for posting.

This is a fantastic cover. Your spot on with vocals and guitar.
It was about 2009 or so (they were all teenagers then) that I first saw Back Door Slam. Quickly became one of my favorites. This guy can play & sing with the best of them.

These guys are the REAL DEAL. Great music.
deep deep music and a long gone personal true story behind. Great artists.

Davy, you rock. Incredible version!
Wow, really stuck to the original song, no extra crap of today's music added , fabulous!!!!
Powerful voice reminds me of Paul Rodgers two thumbs up
Just listened to CSNandY as a tribute to Crosby and happened to come across this.
Incredible!
Sometimes I love algorithms; searching for David Crosby you come across Back Door Slam. Never heard of them, but, man, what a guitar player!
Favorite song of CSNY!!
