Roy, I've never repaired a car (never had a person to show me anything about them) but the way you walked through each step gave me the courage to try it out and after about 2 hours (mostly fiddling with the air intake) I was able to do it! Thank you for putting this video together.

@@RoysGarage808 my 2005 camry le, 4 cyc wont turnover. THought is was battery, replaced it, but nothing. When I turn the key, nothing, no click either. We tried tapping starter, nothing. All lights, signals, radio, windows work so. I check to fuses under the hood and the 5 amp fuse (someone suggested) under the dash port cover on drivers side and it's good. Does this seem like a starter solenoid or starter itself? Thank you sir!

Thank you sir! That "hit the starter" saved me! Sometimes it's this easy.
I tried everything from testing the starter relay, battery voltage, and fuses.

No need for anti seize on the bolts unko, they shouldn't be as tight and stuck as the original OEM starter, just torque it to specs and you good to go at 27 ft lbs unless you live in the East Coast on the rust/salt belt then yes anti seize is a must

Great video Roy. got to get mine fixed, it just makes a thunk. I had a new battery a month ago. I wish you had turned the key to the see what your this vehicle sounds like defective. I will try the hit test. I used to get a Chevy to start by banging on it and then turning the key.. mahalo

Great Job Roy! Just wondering, did you have to buy the Denso starter from a dealer or some place online? I have a 2005 Camry since new and it's been very reliable. Just basic maintenance really. I'm still on the original brake pads and shoes at 73,000 miles!

I got it through my local parts store. The great thing about Denso is that Toyota uses Denso for their cars. So getting a Denso is basically the same as getting an original part from the dealership! Sometimes I’ve been able to find them on Amazon but not always, I usually work with my local parts store. Thanks for watching 🤙🏽🤙🏽🤙🏽
