Thanks 1A. Very helpful video. I just replaced my starter on a 2011 Camry LE (2.5 ltr) as you did in the video and I had plenty of room to work in. I had seen another video that suggested taking out the air filter but I'm glad I didn't waste my time with it. Your videos are excellent and are a big reason DIYer's like myself keep coming back to y'all for parts and advice. Thanks!
Michael Derosier, please how do you know you your starter needs replacement? My car toyota aurion 2010 makes a grinding noise a lot of time when I turn it on
@@1AAuto I had trouble with the ratcheting device on the starter shaft in an '05 Camry. The grease was so thick that it would hold back the ratcheting pawls in cold weather, allowing the ratchet to slip. I was unable to access the pawls because the ratcheting device was stamped together, so I liberally oiled it with light lubricants, which I think diluted and flushed out some, if not most, of the heavy grease. Hopefully the resulting mixture will stay thin enough to allow the return springs to push the pawls into position even in the coldest weather.
If you have a 2011 Camry 4 cyl built after 5-1-2011, the setup is a little different inside. I ended up taking the battery out to have enough room to torque, but all in all, a fairly easy job. Thanks 1A for the great video!
My car wasn’t working today when i tried starting my car. Then I gently hit my starter solenoid a few times then my car was working just fine 😂. Thank you for the video
Am wondering what prompted the replacement for this car's starter? Trying to help a friend with a 2007 2.4L Camry that has a no-start, no-turnover with a good battery. Also pulled DTCs P0328 for knock sensor 1 circuit high, P0335 crankshaft sensor A circuit, P0339 crankshaft sensor A circuit intermittent, and P0300 Random misfire detected. Can hear solenoid on starter click, but engine won't even turn over. Voltmeter showed 12.28v (engine off of course). Ground terminal under battery tray was tight and no corrosion. Battery terminals are tight and clean, too. All the videos I've watched and forum posts I've read point to the starter. I'd like to know, if you can recall, how that car acted before the starter change?
+MUSTANG408W Thanks for checking us out! We unfortunately do not have the issue causing this to be replaced as this was filmed 3 years ago. If you have troubleshot everything and want a definitive diagnosis a local reputable mechanic will be able to tell you for sure what is causing the no-start and advise from there.
I appreciate your video they are very helpful. I Have 2007 Camry i took of the battery the other day to put fog lights on when all and done i put the battery back on, but the car won't start. Today i changed the starter watching your video. Still won't start. Battery is good everything works but it wont' start its dead silent. Can you please Show me where the fuse is or rely that is the only thing i am missing on my diagnostic?
+Juan Tellez The part in this video fits your application, and the install should be the same or similar. Buy this part on 1AAuto.com: 1aau.to/m/Shop-1AAuto-c
You go to their website and you put in starter and you get a remote starter as the only thing showing we have to scroll for every part imaginable ridiculous

I changed my starter in less than 30mins. That 14mm bolt in the back is NOT fun. Thank you for a great video!

Tough product 💪. Will buy again
Excellent tutorial! Thanks for sharing.
My two screws broke on the radiator support that goes into the sheet metal. Any quick fix?
Thank you very much I think I can do this myself.
That was AWESOME! TY 🙏

magkaao brand new starter camry 2007
You should post the engine size.
+Daniel Revo It is the same part for both the 4 cyl 2.4L and the V6 3.5L for the 2009 Toyota Camry.
This is not for 3.5 v6?

Why don't you take out the air filter for more room? It's an extra step but you have more room to work with
I agree with you 💯% 👍
Both screws broke on the radiator support. Both screws are broken inside. Feel like a total dumbass just got a new job, what do I do?
I just replace mine and now it stars but dies after a few seconds. Dont know why 😐

For anyone who sees this comment this is 99% of the time a bad alternator. Batteries don't really do anything to the vehicle once it's started.
You go to their website and you put in starter and you get a remote starter as the only thing showing we have to scroll for every part imaginable ridiculous
For someone who doesn’t know anything about tools this was kind of confusing. Felt like it could’ve been more in depth
