I followed this story every single morning as it happened in real time, before I started my work day. I would wake up in the morning, and the first thing I would do, before I would get out of bed, was check my news feed to see if the boys were okay. This was the best story for me for 2018!
What is rarely mentioned that was actually pointed out by one of the rescuers was the stench of faeces that filled the cave that the boys were in. It must have been horrendous for everyone involved
They were expecting to find dead bodies so when they spelled the feces they immediately thought it was the smell of dead bodies. Imagine how happy they were to realize all survived
I’m from Thailand. You cannot imagine how big this was, it really was a rescue epic. All Thai media reported live from the scene, each story update on twitter got retweets in the thousands , donations, volunteers of every kind even interpreting volunteers when the foreign teams started arriving on scene. No one could remember a search (then later rescue) operation of this scale. People clung to any update on the story, you get emotionally invested. If you were in the country then, you’d know that the situation was very bleak, but we still prayed All in all, it was a beautiful story. Thai people have their differences but everyone united in national collaboration which turned global and a story of survival against all odds.

True; however, I often don’t keep up with the news or virtually any form of what is occurring in other countries. The funny thing is how I obtained the information.
One of the Navy Seal was a doctor. He just went in there and give medicine to the boys. There was one Thai guy who invented a pump to pumped out water for 24/7 and keeping the water level stable. That man's wife told him. "Don't come back home until you see them". Another fact was It WASN"T a rainy season. The storm arrived too early due to climate change.
