    What you do is called a, "happening," and it's something that creates itself with almost no effort--It becomes what it was supposed to be. I like when that happens. Love all your cards so much. 🥰 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍

    Hi there Julia. How creative are you, and clever you using up the white pieces of the serviette by making a faux vellum!!! I never in one million years would have thought that you could achieve that, but it does look great. I love the stamping and the spritz of colour to give the faux vellum the aged look. Perhaps this is something that we can't do with vellum as it is like plastic, and everything smears on vellum with the exception of Stazon ink. I have just received an order of 150gsm vellum, and this will last me a long time as there are 20 sheets.
    Julia I loved your cards today, and I have always been fond of the vintage Christmas cards. I was wondering what you were going to do with the little boo boo, and in Julia style you cleverly covered it up. Just goes to show that we all can make mistakes, and there is always something we can do to cover them up! It was so beautiful that you used your mother's twine on your card, and of course it helped to cover up the little boo boo... LOL! 🤣🤣🤣
    Julia, what is art glitter glue, and is that the glue adhesive that you always use?
    Ann Melvin's Positively Papercraft I have been subscribed to her channel for a long time now, and I like what she does. I also absolutely love and have subscribed to Natasha Foote from New Zealand... I really like the way her cards come together even though at times they start out looking like a hot mess!!!
    Today I made a couple of cards with another in the process of making, but I am waiting for the watercolour to completely dry.
    The two cards I have already made were extremely fiddly (and stressful!!! 🤪🙃🤪) ... lots of stamping, painting, fussy cutting and then arranging all the cut out pieces face down on some low tack paper with a heart shape die in-situ. I then ran it through the die cutting machine to cut out the heart shape, and then removing it carefully so that all the bits stay attached to the low tack paper. Next I placed foam tape on every piece within the heart shape, and then placed it carefully down onto some cardstock gently pressing down on the low tack paper to adhere all the embellishments. Of course the exciting thing was the reveal when I removed the low tack paper to see a stunning and colourful heart... one with cherries, and cherry blossoms, 🍒🌸and the other with gardening tools, bird houses, and birds. 🐦🐦🐦I placed my masterpiece onto a co-ordinating colour cardstock before placing it down onto the white card base.
    I was truly delighted how they turned out, but told myself that I don't want to do it again, because it was very time consuming, STREESFUL and FIDDLY!!! Funny thing is that I can see myself making them again, because they are stunning.
    Wishing you a wonderful day in your craft studio with Miss Cordelia.
    Blessings, love and hugs from your Aussie friend Gloria! 🥰☕🍰💐💖💝💕

      @SeniorSusieStamps  Год назад

      Hi Gloria - OOOOOHHHHH I can just see those cards you made!! I know they are stunning!!!
      I completely understand Stressful and Fiddly - those kind of cards rack my nerves. But they are usually very rewarding in the end.
      Art Glitter Glue is my glue of choice. It dries clear, has a fine tip you can add on. And it dries just fast enough - you can hold for 2-3 full seconds and go. However as glues go it is on the pricey side of the spectrum. But I find with the fine tip it goes a long way.
      I am working on Thursday's video today - so many scraps and I have most of the cards planned out now.
      Have a wonder filled week - the coffee pot just came on - Yay! I must go up and check on Cordelia before my day starts. Take care my Friend!! Julia

    being an older video you may have heard this already...
    the lady who you mentioned you saw the technique from, i just can't recall her name right this minute, laminates two napkins at a time by putting one napkin facing the front, one napkin facing the back and then the copy paper in the middle. that way you are maximizing the use of the laminating folder. pretty smart she is! lol
    i haven't yet tried it but i have purchased some napins...lol...
    interesting fact: she uses matte finish laminating folders. i have looked and looked and i find they are only available over in england and area. the price of getting them shipped here (canada) is not worth the 'trying it out' card idea. if for some reason you do find matte finish folders at a reasonable cost, i think it would be worth a try as it add a really different effect.
    thanks for all your videos. i have been binging lately!
    and looking up at the video i realized i have not subscribed.... i will change that right now!
    looking forward to watching more..
    thanks!

      Hi Sheryl - Yes I like that matte finish as well. Of course I have a huge supply of regular laminate folders, so I haven't really looked for the matte. If I happen to find some, I will make note of it in a future video. I was delighted with the way the laminate made the white napkin backing so useful. Welcome to the Channel - I'm glad you're here!!

      @@SeniorSusieStamps It is a big thing; the sheets are 9 inches wide. I have only used it to laminate posters that are 8 1/2 by 11 inches. It is two sheets on rollers, and you crank it by hand, and it does a good job on cardstock. I know it is sticky on both sides just like the sheets you use. But I will watch your video again and try what you did, I have lots of pretty napkins. You prompted another adventure for me.

    • @SeniorSusieStamps
      @SeniorSusieStamps  10 месяцев назад

      Hi Angela - I have 2 favorite glues - Books by Hand PVA glue and Art Glitter glue. The PVA has a little more slip time. And the Art Glitter grabs quicker. So there are lots of times I use both on a card. With the laminated vellum I would definitely use Art Glitter. Here are a couple of links.
