@@AbisolaAkinbola 🙏🙏🙏
This is my current struggle!
@@angieemm Keep going. You got this.
The best way to get your friends and family to subscribe is to make them think you're telling jokes about them. wink wink.
Even though I recently got monetized (largely because of your videos) I still love watching these because they are still insanely helpful
Congrats!
This is one place where I have to give RUclips some credit. That 4,000 hours goal and 1k sub goal really go hand-in hand. 4000 hours seems like a lot but with 1k subs that's a single person watching 20 minutes of your content a month. Becomes a lot less insurmountable when you break it down like that.
hmmm.
I definitely watch more than 20 minutes a month for my couple of favorite channels a month-- so if it's quality content it should be doable for those wanting monetization, but not there yet(if the right audience finds them). lol
Oh just try and get a friend or family to watch a 2 min video and like it. Then youll understand how hard it is. I am convinced that people buy views to reach their 4,000 on fiver and the like

💚Longer Vlogs👍🏽Thank You!!
The fear of camera or being judge by others stop us making videos. I am a nutritionist and have many life stories to tell. I need to start, but the fear stops me. Do you have a video to help people like me ? Thanks a lot for the videos that helped me so far.
@@pacificbase I have the same problem. I have a cooking channel and am in the background. Viewers hear me and see my hands. On a day I feel quite confident, I make a short appearance for the beginning of the video. For the fear of being judged and making mistakes in front of the camera, I put off the channel for 2 years. Now I wish I had not. All the best take the courage show your skill, watch likewise videos and get the idea. The world need to see your talent 🤞💐
@@Gloriasplatter thank you very , very much ! I will try and see how i look. Usually we don't like to see ourselves, because we think we don't look as good as we want :)
@@pacificbase I know what you mean 😉 But we look better than we think we do to the outside world. We need a lil kick to boost our confidence. Although I am a very sociable person, love people, I wasn't comfortable in front of the camera 🙃 I shied away in front of strangers. I didn't have social media until the start of the channel. I did it, now it's your turn ❣️ Do a small home video with subject related content and you bring the voice for your viewers. Then decide how and what need to be changed for the others. I am a constant chatterbox normally but in front of the camera I run out of words, stammer and also act weird 😁 Now I learned how to record and then do the voice over later 🙌 take care ♥️
Thanks Roberto! I am half way there, and the journey has been a awesome experience.
To all future RUclips stars and future entrepreneurs. Lets keep working hard till the time we achieve our goals.
I remember the grind. Consistency my friends. 40 hours per video means 100 videos will do it.
YUP!!!!
Lol i aint making 100 videos lol... 🤣
😎
Very true.
I hit mine awhile back but with 200 vids I have only hit 655 subs
Most valuable tip (or reminder) for me personally is that I need to keep being focused on the topics I really can deliver. NO RANDOM VIDEOS 😃
Thanks Roberto!
I been watching your videos for about 2 years now and been taking your advice. My channel just got monetized a few months ago. Doing these steps really does work you just have to be consistent!! All from my iPhone!! Thanks for helping me !!
I appreciate your breakdown of the 4000 hours into a stepwise goal that's realistic and down to earth. 🙂 Best tip was "no random videos"! Focus is key to getting to the goal.
Oh yes, that was great advice. That and knowing that shorts don't help watch time.
Cheers, thanks for the video breakdown, RUclips ain't a sprint it's a marathon, or maybe a Triathlon, loads of stages to get through before thinking about becoming monetised, and ultimately becoming a successful RUclips creator.
Hi Roberto Blake. I have been subbed to you for a while. The main tips that has resonated with me is not doing random videos and making videos that are at least 8 to 12 minutes long. Thank you so much for the information.
Roberto, just want to say thanks for all of the info these last few years. Putting a lot of your tips to use as we debut here at the beginning of December. All of our classes feature Epidemic Sound music - 99% remixed, however. Some sick tracks on their platform! Thanks Again. Cheers!
hmm🤔
dont quit guys, keep grinding, keep trying new things. just found an old post of a photo back when i had 159 subs. today i have over 20,000! keep on grinding!
Thank you I will implementing these steps on my channel. I loved the part about making videos that people can come in at any time and still get value. Thanks 🙏🏽
The math breakdown was helpful in giving a realistic look at what needs to be accomplished. Shooting for that 4000 hour goal looks daunting, but breaking it down to minutes and creating videos that are evergreen make it possible to "eat the elephant" one bite at a time. Thanks Roberto!
That was my goal!
@@RobertoBlake you nailed it! 😎
More useful info as always. Consistent, Quality Content is the Key to YT Success.
Thanks for all you do Roberto! My biggest take away was the breakdown and the structure.
As a Maker, I suffer the sickness of overthinking and the "squirrel"/distraction factor.
You put this in a way that is easy to digest and frees me up from over thinking it.
(Stay on target!)
Duuuuuuuuuuuude. I needed this so bad right now. Thank you!! 🙏🏼💓
I now know what to do, thank you for this video. Keep up the good work!
Thank you for the breakdown Roberto. I have found that Shorts are giving me the biggest return for subscribers which feeds well into my long form content.
As always, your input to all of us in spot on.
Good luck with the studio build and resist those new power tools
Thank-you for this video and all you do.
Thanks for breaking down some of the logistics and breaking it all down into the smaller steps to make sense so they can be put into action.
I’ve been using Epidemic Sound since starting my channel earlier this year. I love it. I love that I am able extract the stem I want. Mostly instrumental!
Just hit 1,000 subs so this video is exactly what I needed to hear, thank you!
Congratulations, that’s amazing 🥳🥰
Like you suggested, I made 100 crappy videos 😁 Working on the quality and waiting for the views to soar 🙏 thanks for your tips and being so helpful! Take care and stay safe 🌹🤞
Much thanks Roberto! Working towards it already as soon as I watched it. Good to see you back. Big up
Hey Roberto 👋🏾 you're the BEST! Thank you so much for all that you do in giving us small content creators so much information and inspiration.
I last commented here 4 months ago about my editing and adding music - fast forward to today, I'm editing (it's not perfect) and adding music too!
Great video! The most helpful tip for me was breaking down the best average video duration you should strive for in your video creation. My average view duration is good but most of my videos are 5 minutes or even under. Gotta start working on making valuable content that is hitting that 8 minute+ mark. Thanks for all the great tips!
I thought I had done the math on the 4K watch hours as far as I needed to. But the 3 minute AVD was a new light bulb for me! Thank you!
Be persistent in whatever you're doing! All you're hard work will be paid off someday! It's difficult and hard work to make a channel, and you'll meet some days where your channel feels meaningless. But if you are persistent, and keep up the good spirit, everything will change for you! Good luck to all youtube creators!
Thank you for this encouragement
Yaaaaaaaaaaaas on what you said for b roll👏🏼 I’m modeling my content after Shelby Church’s visual storytelling vibe and it’s already, dare I say, (incrementally) upped my analytics game😛
I think several tips were golden. The breakdown of 100k views is something to think about strategically... Viewer longevity seems to be key. But evergreens and no randoms i think are the best take aways.
Focusing on evergreen content and no random videos are some of the strongest points. It's tempting to go for that overnight blow-up success strat but that's not a strategy just gambling. Thank you again Roberto I appreciate what you do
Thanks for this steps! Hope ill get there soon! To those who are here watching this well succeed soon! Have a nice day!
Ever green content or repeated play and adding value. Got that! Thanks buddy! Love your advices.
I've never heard anyone break this down so clearly. Thank you for the concise information!
Roberto you are the truth! Always appreciate your hard work & the content itself💯🚀📣
I agree, he's great
@@Je.rone_ no doubt about it!
I just started my channel a month ago now and this video really reassured me ! I'm still far from getting monetized but having you breakdown the 4000 hours goal make it seems like it might actually be possible to reach !
Roberto, you are my RUclips cheat code amigo! I've learned a ton in a short span! You're a legend 🙌
I'm shooting for monetization by March of 2023 💪🏾💪🏾
All of them were helpful! But especially #6 was something I was relieved to hear. TY! 🙏
Loved the video! The most helpful part honestly was the advice you gave on editing videos and making them less stagnant and boring by adding music and cutaways. Really appreciate this video it was much needed!!!
Roberto is back 😎
Been super busy with the House move and rennovations!
I’m not a math guy but I know numbers matter so when you were dropping math it gave me a good visual of what I need to do to meet that. And I’m doing it. Thank you for the advice always. It’s amazing and really appreciate your knowledge.
As always you are so clear on what needs to be done ✅ Thanks Roberto!
Great ideas for a small youtuber like me. More thoughts and ideas
Wanna watch your vlog always
One of the most valuable tips from this video is learning tha quality of videos goes beyond editing but also the Production. Nimmin specifically recommended you to me yesterday when I asked a question on his LS. Nice to be here.
Fairly new youtuber. Stumbled on your video and been binge watching. Love your content so concise and informative. Now to implement. My take away is to make content that is evergreen.
Also I love epidemic sound, started using them when I started. Keep up the excellence.
The best tip is evergreen content. I’m doing news reactions but might lean more on streaming TV service reviews.
A1 advice brother! This is a great blueprint although results will always very it all comes down to the grind, The grind never stops 💪🏽
Roberto the best thing I can do right now to help creators is watch the adds placed on their vids. (That is if they're monetized) This time I enjoyed it even more since the ad was one of yours talking about your course. Thanks for always giving us value on every video.
What I got from this is no random videos, longer videos to get watch time, and take it like a full time job.
Thank you for your content. I've been watching a few people in your genre (helping new RUclipsrs be successful), and I have to say, you are the most level-headed, least pretentious, and least subtly mocking. You act least like an "influencer" too.
🙏🏾🙏🏾
Thanks for the epidemic tip def gonna be checking them out!
Most helpful tip for me was “no more random videos.”
Thank you for all the actionable tips!
Great timing! Been looking for these view duration % for a while now. Thx.
Great video! Most helpful for me was the reinforcement that “a video you can’t listen you can’t watch” which is true because I often will close my screen but keep listening to videos (like this one) while I move around the house. Also great is the concept of making a video long enough to cover average watch rate (e.g., 30%). Third best thing, no random videos!
The most helpful thing was the statistics you provided. It exactly follows what we have been seeing on our channel. We don't have a channel that EVERYONE would like to visit, so we have to try hard to make videos that people like us would like to see (people that travel off of the beaten path, or visit out of the way places). I think it is normal to be a little sad when people don't watch an entire video, but what you said shows that it's not even normal for people to watch the whole video. So we just need to be patient and think about things we can do inside of the video that keep our YT friends engaged.
most helpful: breaking down the numbers! and that its now 8 minutes for a video to have ads instead of 10 mins. i didnt know that. thank you!
Key take away for us from this video came at the end when you mentioned playlist. That is generally where we are seeing the most engagement come from our audience.
Thanks a ton for shooting up flares to a brighter destination Roberto . Much’love respect’n’peace’in . - *Justin David*
Needed to watch this! Starting my channel using my iphone first with a mic. You just gained a subscriber!!
Thanks so much for this video !!
It reinforces to me that I am in the right track and to keep with it.
Great tips mate. Especially " no Random Videos" thing. Loved it.
I clocked 400 subscribers 🎉! Thank you so much for your advice.
Knowing that 30% is what is needed provides a sense of relief. It seems like Shorts could at least be useful for driving traffic. Great tips! Thank you!
So very encouraging and inspiring me to power on. One of the most helpful tips for me was when you broke down how to achieve the 4000 watch time hours over a year. It helped me to see how achievable it is with focus. Thanks for a great video…as always.🥳
Im following your steps and growing little by little..👍✔
I KNEW I NEEDED THIS VIDEO! I've been looking for help on this approach for ages, thanks so much!
Thank you for the tips I think the ones that stood out to me was the no random videos I have tried that out more on somethings and having like B roll or some type of extra things added into the video.
Thanks for the info you were detailed in your video. I am thinking about joining RUclips next year because I am doing a lot of studying on this topic. Thank you for the info and be a successful youtuber.
These tips are so useful! Thank you so much! We are making videos for two years now and we really enjoy it, but we do hope to grow and to one day make RUclips our side hustle. This helps a lot! We appreciate you, we have been watching so much of your videos and we have been growing 🤗
Beautifully structured and concise. Thanks for the clarity.
Thank you for sharing valuable information that I could understand. Now I have a working plan. Thank you. Have a great day. 👍
Thanks Roberto! It’s great that my workout channel is inherently evergreen content, but i am also considering adding trending themes (e.g. Escaping Squid Games Workout)
I’m at work but watched the whole video but I’ll be coming back to this video again. Good info. I’m not concerned about going viral. I just wanna make good videos with relevant info as updates come in. I’m always in discord’s and Twitter looking out for updates on my specific content
Great advice! I already got monetized, but this is an excellent reminder of how to grow on youtube. The tip about not doing random videos is especially important. 👌
Do you have any tips??? Other than the one in this video haha
Hey great video 😃 Thanks for taking time out to put it together for us 🙏 This video is definitely one of those "green" videos you mentioned...it will be relevant for a long time 👍
I'm gonna apply your tips and not give up thank you so much for everything with all of these videos
"Quality is the experience the viewer has once they decide to click on the video."
I've never heard this conveyed so effectively!
That was my goal
Gold tips.
It helps to have a clear vision especially when you explained the evergreen content vs focus content.
03:21 "This is gonna help you realize what's normal." - I swear I needed to hear this. There are many useful videos on RUclips about watch hours but none set realistic goals. I immediately subscribed. Thank you, sir!
The most helpful thing was not to do random content. and re watchability. awesome stuff!
Sir thank you !! This is one of best videos I've seen on growing your watch time.
Thank you for the tips Roberto!!!!! :D always such an inspiration!
Congratulations 540k subscribers! Quality content is excellent and helpful.
A friend referred me to you. I appreciate how you’re bringing logic to the table. I can dig the statistics. Fresh.
I’ll use epidemic sounds as well for the exact reasons that you mention, the best takeaways that I got from this video were increasing my video duration without patting the video as well as focusing on contact that will be relevant in the future instead of randomness, which I admittedly I am at fault. Great vid
Thanks so much for sharing 🥰 this is really helpful. Keep up the good work 😘
Great content Bro..I had Noo idea to break it down like you did..Great Tips..I’m still learning Thanks
Greetings to all the viewers, You're welcome.
Content Creator, thank you for uploading.
Here to support, comment, and like all...
I’m really enjoying Epidemic Sound! It’s so nice to find good sound effects, and I enjoy listening to the music even when I’m not doing videos!
You always seem to have the answers I'm looking for. Started following you a couple years ago and got some great advice from the video at the time even though I wasn't ready to commit to the hardwork that it takes. Now though, I'm teaching this wonderful language of Garifuna and my favorite part of this video is that you've included the structure and strategy needed to take the only Garifuna language channel on RUclips to the highest levels and I'm so appreciative of that.
Your advice about the differences between Quality and Value is one of the most valuable things I've learned. It's such a small thing but many creators (including me) believe them to be the same thing
All tips were important together but making evergreen content was the dominant tip for me.
I just started posting videos last week. And uploading shorts daily about 2 weeks ago! Sterling is growing faster here on RUclips than he did on TikTok! My goal is to get monetized here and I know we will do it with your help!! 💜
Thanks for all the tips! I didn’t realize that 4000 hours has to be within 12 months 😳. I’m going to keep at it! Love all your advice and encouragement.
It's not too late to start a new RUclips channel thanks man appreciate it
Roberto, my take away is that my idea is a good start, but I definitely need good music and breaks/ changes in it to keep the audience watching. Great information. Here is to 2022 👍🏼
Thanks for this video! I appreciated your thoughts on both quality and having content that provides value. As a new RUclipsr, I try not to worry so much about my numbers but rather look at the quality of my videos from both a content and production perspective. This stuff is not easy for sure (but it's usually a lot of fun!
Evergreen, I want to put up horse training tips and that hit me. Keep training tips short.
Awesome video!!! Great breakdown and the advice was priceless!!! Thank you so much!!
