I laughed so hard when he said "I'm a muggle, hello."
Whether I believe in her personal faith or not, she seems like a lovely person inside and out, and that's all that ultimately matters.
When they started doing these 'Have A Little Faith' videos I actually thought, "I bet they won't cover witchcraft." I stand corrected. I was thrilled when I saw this, but also a little concerned. Mockery is a pretty easy stance for people to take when it comes to any form of paganism. But I was very pleased with this. Essy was a wonderful representative of the faith. Zach was awesome, as always. Thanks so much for including us
I love this! This whole series is great, it portrays religious and non-religious people in very honest ways. I think we are all trying to figure out this beautiful slice of the universe that we've been born in.
She has an amazing voice!
I've found that my students (I teach religion and will likely be using many of these videos in my classes) really like the various NRMs (New Religious Movements, which, while witches, Paganism, and Wicca all harken back to indigenous European religions are grouped together with NRMs sociologically). Those involved in Paganism, Wicca and Witchcraft have tended to either be very creative individuals and/or working at the forefront of technology or science-based industry. With respect to the latter, I've found it interesting how many practitioners describe modern witchcraft as almost like the next step in science, not about controlling nature, but experiencing it personally and living in accord with it.
Paganism, Wicca and Witches are very closely related. NRMs encompasses many groups (including Cao Daism, Bahai, The Unification Church, Scientology and basically anything that came around after the industrial revolution as a religion in its own right). Wicca and witches are almost interchangeable, though some practitioners have a strong preference for one label over the other. Paganism might be understood to loosely include Wicca and/or Witchcraft, but it broadly includes anything that tries to re-establish the indigenous European religions, and is very seasonal and tied to the natural world. Yes there are still those who worship Odin, Thor and the like and they would be group under the loose umbrella of Paganism or Neo-paganism (though again, many object to the term "neo" in front of paganism because they believe their faith is not new, but harkens back to something much older than at least Christianity, if not other "major" world religions).

Actually Witches follow Wicca which is a Pagan religion. They aren't closely related. They are one and the same. You can look at it like this..Roman Catholics are Catholics and Christians. You can be a Catholic without being a Roman Catholic but both are Christian religions as they believe in Christ.
The earth tied ancient religious revival (represented by Paganism and Wicca) is a bit more complex. Since we have incomplete records, they all exhibit some "act of the imagination" which they recognize. So whether Wicca is Pagan, Neopagan or something else depends on how you define those terms and how great an "act of imagination" is utilized. SO yes, you can certainly make the case that Wicca is part of the Pagan/Neo-Pagan movement, but you could also make an argument that they are different. At the very least they are very closely related.
@@milpol I'm a witch and I do not follow Wicca, from other witches I have learned that Wicca is a religion whereas witchcraft is a craft/practice and you can virtually follow any religion you'd like to or even be an atheist witch, which I happen to be! Not trying to harsh the mood just trying to correct misinformation,
Blessed be
Having a bad day + HELLO, I'M A MUGGLE = Now a good day.
I think Essy did an incredible job of laying out the groundwork and communicating the general belief system of Wicca. 😊
As for Zach: he is simply amazing. He's hilarious, thoughtful, and so open and incredible. He really just brings so much light and joy to every person he meets, as well to everyone who watches his videos, which is a beautiful talent.
Finally: Happy Beltane! Blessed be!
With perfect love and perfect trust,
- Starwing Crow ❤️
She has such a beautiful voice .
Her voice is amazing and lovely and true
I think the conclusion that I've drawn from these videos is that, in the end, we are all just people, and we all desire community and a place in which to be ourselves.
Thank you for doing this series, Zach. I look forward to all the "Have a Little Faith" videos and appreciate you showing us all about these different religions.
I love when media shines a positive light on paganism (or at least a part of it). This was truly spectacular and it being posted on Beltane is wonderful too! Blessed be!
Excellent video! I kinda wish the Witch had gone into more detail about her specific path/tradition; but I understand that she was addressing a wide audience and had to couch things in general terms. Blessed Be.
I LOVE her voice! So raspy and just on point!
Also, does anyone else find her personality, laugh, and smile make her super attractive?
"I wanna know you where you are, not where you're pretending to be"... such a great great quote from this video.
Thank you for reaching out to us who walk the magik path, there are SO many different types of Nature- based faiths- Pagans, Wiccans, witches, druids, shamans, who are practicing in many ways! Thank you for exploring this path. Blessed be.
Mystic Pizza!!
And her voice...
I don't even know what to say about it, but I love it!
I hope they cover more pagan religions! I'd love to see wicca/druidism and other stuff like that c:
***** It's more complicated than that: "pagan" is a Greek word (paganos) meaning "country-dweller" or "bumpkin". When new religious practices (like Christianity) would come into an area, it was usually in the cities first and then spread outwards. So the people who held onto the older religions were usually the Heathens (those on the "heaths" or "outskirts") and Pagans.
Nowadays, Pagan is a generic term used by practitioners of nature-based spirituality. There is a "Pagan Movement" and there are "Pagan Religions/Spiritualities" - there are even Pagan Pride Days :)
Ah, I didn't mean it like that, oops ;__; I've learnt the term "pagan" is meant to refer to generally any non-judeo-christian and/or non-monotheistic religion, usually based in nature... I guess like how Kanakadea explained it
ccleasimone I know that is how it started out but there are a lot of people who do call themselves pagan today. I hope they do more on out too!
We are stardust, we are golden, we are billion year old carbon, and we got to get ourselves back to the garden...
HER VOICE AND HER TRIFORCE!!
Wow! Her voice is AMAZING! So beautiful!
Ok, admittedly, when they were welcoming earth and she howled, I would have been startled as a visitor. But, Zach takes it in stride. Overall, very interesting, I didn't know very much about witches' and mystic practices.
Omg i lost it when he referred to himself as a muggle! I love this guys sense of humor and his confidence :)
Wow, she has a beautiful voice.
I've been waiting for Zach to hit this religion! I'm a Witch, myself!
she has such a beautiful singing voice
This is an amazing series. Thank you Zach and Soulpancake!
Your humor is becoming one of my favorite things to witness on RUclips!
I am a Pagan witch and I have to say that this was a nice intro to the practice/religion and also made me laugh in joy. Thank you for taking the time to do this video. I shared on my Facebook pages. )O(
I absolutely LOVE Zach. He has the best personality and humor!
The main thing this series highlights for me is that there are people who center themselves with a set of beliefs that others happen to believe in also and so they have a name for it. A religious person isn't really someone who simply prescribes to an ideology.
I would love to see Zach interview any random person who is centered by a simple faith of their own not derived from another's teachings and can't be found in a book. Maybe even just an optimist.
Yay this! I didn't know about this either, very interesting... And jeez, her voice is gorgeous.
Yup, gave me chills!
Very interesting. Keep up the good work soulpancake!
Hello, I'm a muggle. Lmfaoooo
this is so rad
As a witch myself, I started crying during this video. I'm still in high school, and I'm not even what my family would say if I told them. So seeing Essy and hearing her talk about her experiences made me really happy. I'm so happy SoulPancake decided to do Paganism, especially on Beltane, the Wiccan holiday for the coming of May and spring. Everything Essy said, I could relate to. I am so, so glad this video exists.
Great interview and presentation buddy!
I've always felt a draw toward what I would call paganism or witchcraft. A few years ago I bought some books & read a few things & started researching, but then, like most things in my life, fell out of practice. This series has been incredibly interesting to watch & I've been waiting for this episode. This makes me want to get back into my studies! Thanks so much, Zach & Essy for reminding me about how comfortable this religion feels to me!
I actually think I am about to cry in thanks to essy for letting people know the truth about paganism in such a loving but bold way. Essy may the goddess always give you blessing, I don't know about every other pagan but you have defiantly given me more strength to welcome more people towards the true me, because I'm always afraid they they will reject me. So essy thank you.
Why watch ‘Have a Little Faith” if you’re just gonna post negative things about it? Why not ‘Have a Little Respect’ for other religions.
Awesome. Zach's Soulpancake segments are my favorite. Thanks for sharing and exploring the realms of religion and spirituality, Zach!
She so gorgeous as a person and her vibrancy is radiating
I love this series.I love his personality.He's so sweet.♥️😇
This was cool. All the"Have a Little Faith" vid's are so interesting. I keep finding myself wanting them to last longer, to hear more.
I’m a new witch and really enjoyed this episode. I see my practice as a way to be mindful of myself and my impact on the world around me.
This is the most respectful of these types of videos that I've seen yet :)
"She's the Wayne Brady of witches" that may be the greatest thing I have ever heard
Possibly my favourite episode so far!
I was Wiccan for almost 10 years (I don't have a label for what I am now) and it had a huge impact on me and on my spirituality. Blessed Beltane.
Her singing voice is BRILLIANT!
I love Zack!!! Great interviews every time! #LaughterPlusKnowledge
5:07 ROFL!!! She's spot on about expressions of faith being tools. I resonate with witchcraft as a tool more than anything other practice, but I've learned I can do the same thing without the tools & ritual....but once that happens, there goes your community. The upside is that there are fewer distinctions between you and someone else.
It's a fun, embracing, open community, no doubt. I'm so glad you featured paganism, because it seems to be one of the most misunderstood.
You were hilarious & so sweet at the end Zach ; )
Zach is fantastic. I really, really enjoy his open mindedness and the way he expresses his curiosity. Also, Essy's voice is the real deal.
She sang a song of ice and fire. Awesome.
Rastafarians next? Pastafarians?
Wow this is beautiful
Love this show! Thank you, Zach!
I love the emphasis on how we all practice differently. Her ritual seems like fun. Mine are usually more subdued and solitary. Blessed Beltane :)
great video zach. seeing all these different religious rituals and traditions, is kinda like traveling to another country
watching this all at .5 speed made this so amazing to watch
So interesting! Thanks Zach :D
This seems like such an interesting topic.
I loved this. I know alot of people that relate to the nature connection thing. So good.
I really love this series
Haha this was a great video! Zach is a really good presenter, too :)
Wow. Very mind opening!
I love this video the most out of all of them!!
Great series, thank you Zach for opening a window into all believes, is there any chance to look into Santeria ?
Hi Zach! I love your series! They are helping me to be more open to all religions, cause living in the mostly atheist country is kinda difficult to expang my horizont in that way. Greetings from Czech republic.
Wow her voice is beautiful and she seems like a great person! Thanks soul pancake, for replacing my stereotype of witches.
Definitely different, and not for me, but glad I watched! I love what Zach is doing by interviewing people if all faiths.
i love this
This reminded me of the movie Avatar!!! I love how they focus on nature and connecting with your ancestors.
Everyone has different beliefs, it's not fair to insult someone's beliefs. I'm sure these people insulting religions wouldnt like their's insulted
She has a brilliant smile and voice!
I watched this a few days ago and i haven't been able to get out of my head what she said about looking into the eyes of the animal you are about to eat and thanking it for the nourishment it will give you.
What do you think of that? I think everyone should see the wheres and hows of their food production.
Love Zach!!!
what a cool witch! She seems like a nice genuine person :)
This video was released on Beltane, a Pagan holiday. Good timing. :D
her voice is freaking beautiful.

Haha Zach you're hilarious!
Her voice is beautiful
What she says about stardust is really beautiful. Was there ever a season 2 made of this series?
This video was a lot goofier than I thought it would be. It was still awesome though :D
Zach is hilarious! I love this guy
Seriously? How have I not watched this series before?
the song is quite beautiful... where can i get the full version?
Hey whats up Zach? I didn't had a Clue about Witches and I like her vibes, I mean she looks very peacefull and positive.Very cool video!
I love her.. I agree to many people take themselves and their religion to seriously and don't understand the gift of life in animals
That woman is the most adorable person I've ever seen ! I love her ! :)
I love her tie-dyed dress. And those hiking boots are a nice touch. ;-)
