What is this black magic?! A food youtuber who doesn't waste time and gets straight to the point. A youtuber who replies to pretty much every comment. He makes vegetarian ramen. Has deep soothing but commanding voice. These were all unknown to me before... I thank thee.
I’ve just researched his channel and he said he’s not vegan. Can I just say it makes me so happy to see non-vegans still cooking and consuming plant based recipes! Actually giving the food a chance even if the diet doesn’t work for them!
I find it fascinating how people react to food from the East in how versatile it can be. Not having any meat products/byproducts in food is very normal to me bc I grew up with it. I find it funny how some people completely lose their minds in not having meat every single day. Btw, about the dishes: I really did try these and they were AMAZING. I even took the time to make the garlic oil. You guys really need to try it.
I grew up in a family that eats meat in every meal, and my significant other did too. But I have been trying a lot more plant based meals and every time I offer to make dinner for my family or s.o. they ask me what it's going to be and whether it will be vegan/vegetarian. If I say there will be no meat/animal products, they just give me a look of disgust like that's the craziest concept they've ever heard. It really makes me sad that people think that way, it's unhealthy to eat meat like that but they refuse to try anything that is plant based because all they've known is meat meat meat.
I eat vegetarian everyday, except for sundays. That's when the meat is bought in the house. Meat is a weekly yummy speciality in my house, cause meat is far more unhealthy than one can imagine, but is far more tasty than vegetables. Eating it occasionally doesn't hurt a person. Eating it daily is like inviting cholesterol into your house.
Just be *very careful* as garlic in oil can quickly develop botulism and send you into a coma, if not kill you. I would buy it and keep it in the fridge or make it at home and invest in a PH meter to make sure it stays acidic enough to inhibit the production of botulinum spores. They are not visible and odourless, so there is no way to know they’re there.
I grew up the same way, vegetarian. I married a meat eater and he is shocked by how many great tasting dishes I can make vegetarian or vegan. Slowly but surely, he is eating less and less meat :)
I was a huge meat lover for most of my life and never ate vegetables or anything healthy for that matter. Recently I felt like I was having a heart attack and decided that I needed to make a life change for my 2 year-old daughter. Switched seemingly overnight to a plant-based diet and it has been difficult to say the least...but these kind of videos motivate me to keep going. Thank you for sharing these recipes!
Dear Mr. Young, I made the Shio Ramen (without the dried seaweed and used packaged noodles) and it was still superb! One small thing I learned from you, going forward, is I now put soy sauce, sesame oil, sesame seeds, etc. in the bowl first, then add the soup or stew. The dishes taste much more vibrant. Thank you so much for your delicious work! Peace and blessings from Texas USA ♡♡♡
I don't have a big appetite lately, so I started watching food videos to make myself hungry if I haven't eaten in many hours. This video DID THE TRICK. Thank you. This looks so, so delicious.

Thanks!! I know my way around making udon and ramen with fish and other meats, buuut my gf is vegan and ive found my goto food to make for her has been homemade pizza. So it was nice to see what kinds of things I can use to substitute for the meats flavorwise. Although she is allergic to mushrooms and prefers me to not use any msg in her meals so developing umami is a bit of a puzzle (not a chore, I really enjoy using my knowledge to work around the constraints so its fun)
its only 9AM here and i just got done making a spinach, kale, corn, onion and green bean version of the Tan Tan OMG!!!!! so so good i added some sauerkraut and sesame seeds on top with some noodles i got from a "instant Asian noodle bowl" it does smell unreal and tastes better then anything i could have paid $10 or more dollars at a restaurant.. thank you Wil Yeung!!!
As someone trying to limit dairy products, and who cant stomach much meat, I seriously thank you for these amazing recipes!! I've been on a serious weight loss journey (lost over 70kg all on my own 🥳) and I've recently been allowing myself more things like noodles and breads in a balanced lifestyle but honestly I was running out of delicious, healthy ways to prepare meals. This was suggested and I think it's going to be a lifesaver, especially as we get into the cooler months here in Australia!! Thank you so much! I can't wait to try!! (Also, omg, as an almond milk enthusiast I cant wait to try the tan tan recipe!! I love it when things are vegan!!!! 🥰)
Ramen, ramen and more ramen. It doesn't get better than that. Seriously y'all, make the black garlic oil. It's worth the effort to have that black magic on hand.
The Tan Tan ramen is DELICIOUS! I thought the Satay one was my favourite but man this one was FABULOUS! I added broccoli florets in stead of bok choy, king oyster mushrooms and marinated tempeh but left the spicy oil out and both my 2 yo and non vegan husband loved it! Thank you so much for all your work, delicious recipes and straightforward channel! From Prague with love!
I feel blessed that your video came up on my veggie ramen recipes search. I can now make ramen with ABSOLUTE confidence. You my friend have gained a new subscriber. Thank you!
Finally an easy ramen video ! Everytime I was looking for some ramen recipes it seemed so complicated that it was very discouraging... Here I got all of the ingredients in my kitchen (except for mushrooms but easy to find) I'm so happy :')
I made Ramen with the seared corn and cabbage, it was toasty and savory and amazing. I used a miso base and had some shrimp stock. I used a sweet soy sauce and sesame oil. I also used straw mushrooms and chive blossoms. You are amazing. I am excited about the possible combos.
Hello, where I live, we do not have sea weed. What does it taste like so I can use a nice substitute. Well I live in the hills of northern India where we can see the Himalayas daily and habaneros are easily grown in our region. Idk if it will give you an idea :') and I am vegetarian. We can easily find the square shaped tamarind packets and Tibetan, Bhutanese ingredients too.
Thank you for making Ramen feel possible at home! I'm making ramen tonight inspired by your combinations! Keep up the amazing work with all you are doing, your channel WILL blow up and be so important for vegan culinary style! Aimee in DC

Eat enough protein. I recommend taking 40 grams of protein powder per day to worry less of protein intake.
I appreciate you did a single serving. Makes it so much easier to gauge the amount you want to serve.
