I am American and my boyfriend is from the Netherlands. As soon as Sam said, "You know what I don't like about Dutch people??" I paused the video and made my boyfriend watch her response with me. We died from laughter -- SOOOOO true! "Ya, it's good" = I could take ten hours to make a 5 course meal and that is the highest praise that it would receive

Hello from Japan! As a tip to Robin, to get the best konbu dashi (broth), either 1) let it sit in cold water for several hours/overnight or , 2) let it sit for half an hour or so in cold water and slowly heat it and let it gently simmer. Take it out before the water boils. Boiling will leave a bad aftertaste in the dashi. Good luck!

Your sister is super cute and I loved her recipe! About the sesame oil - it's not used for frying but as a finishing oil, so she was right not to use it!

Hi! You're half right, regular sesame seed oil has an incredibly high smoke point and is frequently used in Asian cuisine to cook things, toasted sesame seed oil however cannot be used for frying and is strictly a finishing oil 😊 hope that helps!
