    FYI I was just notified by Trezor that they added support for Solana to this device as well as the Model T. Model T also had price decrease to $180.

    Just for clarification to viewers, coins are not "stored" in your wallet. The wallet isn't a wallet, it's a key. The coins (they aren't coins, but we'll stick to that for now) are on their respective blockchain, and the key (wallet) gives you access to interact with your coins. So when trezor says you can't store certain coins in their wallet, all it really means is that their software won't interact with those coins' chains.

    • @zjaranyjoe7456
      @zjaranyjoe7456 4 месяца назад +1

      Can I use another software for access those coins with seed created by and on trezor software?

    • @soundmindtv2911
      @soundmindtv2911 4 месяца назад

      @@zjaranyjoe7456 yes, metamask lets you do this. Metamask will never see your trezor's seed phrases, it only acts as a front-end, and every authorization requires connecting the trezor and going through the steps.
      Just be careful what sites/dapps you connect to and authorize, because not even a hardeare wallet can protect you if you authorize a scam site/dapp.

    I'm fairly new to this and just had some questions. Let's say I have crypto on Exodus or another site. Those coins are being staked. If I transfer that crypto to a hardware wallet, will the crypto still continue to be staked? I was checking out this hardware wallet and ledger but, ledger seems to have some security holes from what I read. Is Trezor the model you would recommend? Great video as well!

    • @HaydenOtto
      @HaydenOtto  5 месяцев назад +1

      Thanks! I actually use both Ledger and Trezor for various purposes. From a security and privacy standpoint, Trezor is a lot better. But it is not as fully featured and supports less coins natively.
      To answer your question: if you have coins staked somewhere and you wanted to move them to a hardware wallet, then they would have to be unstaked in order to move them. Trezor supports staking with Cardano only as far as i'm aware.

    Hi mate needed some advice. I’ve had my ledger for about 6 years and I think since recent updates I’m going to move I’m thinking about getting two but stuck between three.
    Trezor safe 3
    Cypherock x1
    BC vault.
    I genuinely can’t figure out which two of the three would be the best option.

    • @HaydenOtto

      I don't know anything about the latter 2 options, but Safe 3 is definitely one of my preferred wallets.

    I was going to upgrade from the Trezor one, but you didn't recommend that. Why not? The TS3 has the secure element chip and you enter the pin and passphrase on the device itself, not on a computer. Isn't this extra security worth the upgrade?

    • @HaydenOtto
      @HaydenOtto  7 месяцев назад

      Sure, if you think the new features are worth upgrading in your circumstances. You will also be perfectly fine continuing to use the old model and it didn't just become useless overnight. I'd upgrade personally as it doesn't cost much.

    • @thinkblue8089

      The exact words were "probably not, unless you want USB C or need to store coins that were not supported previously", which are the features that would matter most to me personally. Everyone will have their own circumstances. In any case, I'm not here to shill people a product in order to make money off them, I'm offering an objective analysis. Hope I could help out in your decision making! :)

    I have the Trezor Model T. It does not support XLM, XDC, HBAR, Shiba Inu. I paid R7500($405) for it at Takealot and the wallet does not support these coins. That is a big disappointment to me for such an expensive wallet. Is there a video that shows how to connect with the Model T to another wallet that support these coins or can you suggest another wallet that I can buy which is save and reliable.

    • @HaydenOtto

      If you go to trezor.io/coins, it tells you which wallet you need to connect to for specific coins. I can tell you that both XLM and SHIB are supported based on my brief look.
