Buying a 06 highlander In a few days cool to see someone else achieve what I have planned so now I know it’s possible.
I feel inspired to just stay in a hotel 😆
This set up is awesome
Thanks 😎🙌
I notice you have the quick release to tip the second row seats down in the back left of your Highlander just above where you put the inverter. How do you disconnect the cable when removing the second row seats (preferably so that it can be reconnected and have the feature function when the seats get re-installed). I am converting my 2nd gen to have a removable platform and would like to re- install the second row seats for winter. I got the cable exposed to where apparently two segments connect in a tube shaped plastic housing and pried and shimmied and had no luck with it. Thanks
@dirttraveladventures what mattress do you have in your highlander?
Michigan yep I go there often kid at UMich my highlander is only 12 days old 15 hybrid platinum
Cool you have an rear outlet my ride doesn’t that area I have a battery
Backup I have an external camera on my dash cam very helpful
Have a Yakima mega warrior with extension
Nice michigan trips in and out around Michigan still, coll how you did that, subscribed - keep it up - 15 HLHL Platinum i enjoy it very much
Thank you! And these Highlanders are definitely amazing vehicles!
Well done!!
Thank you 😎🙌
great job!!
Thanks :)
Looking to forward to seeing your lift, I’ve been trying to find something like that for my 09, as opposed to the eBay kits.
I ordered all 4 struts from KYB in the beginning of December and am still waiting for the front struts. As soon as those come in I'll be installing them along with the lift. Thanks for watching and make sure to stay tuned! 😎🤘🏼
How did you do your 400 watt inverter! I want to bild my hilander out and this is an amazing idea!!
Can you help me with my 2013 Toyota Highlander 2.7L where is the pcv valve is located I will appreciate I been looking and I can find it nice set up by the way
Nice video 👍🏻
Thanks! 🙌
Thanks for the video, how long is your bed? And how high is too
You know what's my best overlanding bed on my highlander?? A sleeping bag on the driver's seat laying down with a nice pillow or a tent outside.🤣🤣
Sweet!
Thanks 😎🤘🏼
@dirttraveladventures - great job on your Highlander! Well done. I saw elsewhere you mentioned you had used spring rubber inserts for you back springs - can you tell me what you are using there? Thanks dude! Great Inspiration!!
I have the 1 & 3/4" www.amazon.com/stores/page/7CEB7357-70D8-4DA2-9197-8CC81BA79D93?ingress=2&visitId=dfe81344-2297-4e86-adab-2963ab7b9045&ref_=ast_bln
with the hybrid you can sleep and have the car run 24/7 while you sleep for super comfort with climate control of the car.
More video on the camper and camping please
Here you go!!! ruclips.net/video/H5Wl-GjnmxM/видео.html
Beard game on point.

hi there, I have a Toyota highlander too, what's the different between fold down the rear seats and put an inflatable bed on it and do all this work?
Hi, before I took out the seats and installed the storage systems, I had originally placed a flat sheet of plywood over the seats and then placed the memory foam on top of it. That still worked just fine, but I wanted the extra storage plus taking out the seats freed up some additional weight. So the inflatable mattress will work, you’ll just want some sort of solid platform to lay it on. Hope this helps!
I just got a synergy 1st gen 06 and i plan on turning it into a sleeper/drift build if possible looking for videos of ppl sliding these bad boys but cant find any
They're either front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive so might be hard to find someone drifting unless it's in snow maybe?
do you have a video of you installing the ADF 1.5" lift? I have a 2013 AWD Highlander and looking to do the same?
It’s in progress as we speak. I have a few more shots to get yet and should be done soon! 😎🤞
Is there a Part 2? Definitely interested in see that! Thanks
Definitely. Will be a bit before I can get to editing it so make sure and subscribe and hit the little bell to get notified for when we post our next video!

Awesome video! I have an 08 and looking to do a similar set up. I'll definatley be snagging your inverter placement idea. What kind of sleeping pad do you put down on the plywood?
Thanks! And I have 2 qty 2” thick memory foam pads we sleep on and they keep us quite comfortable. 😎🤘🏼

Hello, we are thinking of upgrading from Priuscamper to Highlandercamper. What are the approximate dimensions of the space behind the front seats? Thank you.
Hi, the length from the rear of the seats when they are as far back as they go, is 6’ ft long. I’ll move the backrest of the seats up until they are vertical and that will give you about 6” extra inches to equal 6’6”. The width i between the doors is about 5’ ft and the width between the wheel wells is just shy of 4’ ft. The height above the bed is 2’ ft, 6” inches. I’m 6’ ft tall and have plenty of room to feel completely comfortable! Hope this helps!

Great build! Will give you so much extra storage after the rear seats are removed. Am very interested in getting a Highlander myself for some off road camping adventures. So I'm checking out builds. I assume that if you had a 4 inch mattress laid out behind, then you would have ample room to sit up in your bed without hitting your head on the roof? Thanks for your video!
Thanks! And there is a descent amount of room to sit up. Stay tuned for a future video showing the amount of space. 😎🤘🏼
@@DirtTravelAdventures Sure will. Thanks.
When the next vid coming out
Do you have videos of your build as far as lift kit, tires, wheels, etc? I have highlander like yours and looking to do some minor customizing for the occasional camping trip or snow trip. I've yet to see any other highlanders (same generation) with custom build until saw the pictures on your page, is that how your highlander looks currently?

Do you have a video install for the lift kit
Not yet bud.
Hi! Thanks so much for the video. Can you tell me the width and length in the back of the highlander? I am 6 foot 3 so I am not sure if length wise it would work for me? Thank you 😊
@chris j Hi, the length from the rear of the seats when they are as far back as they go, is 6’ ft long. @@DirtTravelAdventures Hi - thanks so much :)
Are the back seats designed to be removed easily by the owner or would you have to go to a mechanic to have them safely removed - so that if I need to put them back in at a later date I would not have caused damage?
Also from your comment I understood that if all rows in the back of the Highlander were removed and the front two seats were pushed forward to there maximum I would have 6 ft 6in of length to lay down. 5 feet of width (so the bed could be 6'6" by 5')? And the height from the top of the bed to the roof of the car is 2 ft 6 inches?
Thanks again :)
@@chrisjabre Anyone that is mechanically inclined can remove the seats safely but I cannot personally recommend anyone to do that. That’s a “remove at your own risk” sort of speak situation!
And correct. The 6’ 6” is with the front seat-backs in the max forward position. Now, you’ll be able to squeeze even more room if you were to push the front seats all the way forward as well!
Thanks,
@@DirtTravelAdventures haha thanks. Yeah I am very much not mechanically inclined!
Thanks again for the info :)

Is there enough room to stretch out if you’re around 5’11”?
With this setup, yes there was. Wow sorry for the late response!!!
Thanks Josh
What's a good yr to buy
I can't speak for other years of Highlanders, but my 2012 Limited AWD hasn't given me a single problem so far and I just hit 140K miles.
With the bigger wheels .... how's the mileage...???
According to the digital fuel economy guage, I'm averaging 17mpg's.
@@DirtTravelAdventures oof! I found this video while researching Highlanders, because I thought they might be more economical than my 4Runner, but I consistently get a hair over 20mpg with my 13 4Runner.
what was the cost of all?
About $100 and almost all of that costwas from the foam memory pad.
how many %tint is allowed legally
depends on the state
What happen to part 2?
See link in pinned comment. 😎🤘🏼
reverse camera could also help
Already one on there and I added a bright ass LED strip that comes on when I put the Transmission in reverse. Easy to see when backing up now.
