    I notice you have the quick release to tip the second row seats down in the back left of your Highlander just above where you put the inverter. How do you disconnect the cable when removing the second row seats (preferably so that it can be reconnected and have the feature function when the seats get re-installed). I am converting my 2nd gen to have a removable platform and would like to re- install the second row seats for winter. I got the cable exposed to where apparently two segments connect in a tube shaped plastic housing and pried and shimmied and had no luck with it. Thanks

    I want to either lift mine or lower it slightly (can’t leave well enough alone 😂) the lowering would help the mileage, but the lift and tires would hurt it. I get about 19 to work and back (only 4 miles) with 4 stoplights and a short 2 mile section of hwy. loaded with 6 adults I got 22 on twisty 65mph hilly roads. And 22mpg doing nearly 78-80 on the freeway with the AC on max. Edit: mine’s a limited v6 4wd which is the heaviest at 4,500lbs and it has 230,000 miles and heavy BFG AT’s on the factory 19” rims. I also have 1” wheel spacers due to how silly the wheels looked tucked in too far from factory.

  • @_..-.._..-.._
    @_..-.._..-.._ 9 месяцев назад

    The only thing my ‘12 v6 4x4 is missing is a low range, lockable diffs would be nice too, but apparently it uses brake force to limit slip already.

    Looks like you have had some time with this change, assuming you still have the vehicle any issues/regrets? does it resolve the issue you had with squatting in back when you tow? Also in general, anyone know of a company that makes modular racks (e.g. sherpa, prinsu, or similar) for highlander? everyone I find online is for the trucks (4runner, tacoma, Landcruiser, etc.). thanks!

    Thanks for everything Josh! 40 years of construction being a Sheet Metal Worker now retired. When I came home with a smile on my face my wife always knew I got laid off that day. Fortunately being in the Union I was always able to go back to a job with good benefits and wages. My times out of work were my most personally productive and I would be able to pursue my hobbies. Now I work at Bass Pro Shops part time and the rest of the time is spent building Muddy Ruttzz Overlanding. If you want to move to California and accept no pay I could use your help. Quick question because I did the same 1.5 lift on my 2008 highlander but replaced my axles because the boots pulled off and it was time anyway. Do you have issues with the cv joints being to short or wobbling upon acceleration?

    i know this is an old video but just bought this lift kit and was wondering if you had any rubbing issues with those tires?

    • @DirtTravelAdventures
      @DirtTravelAdventures Год назад

      I did not surprisingly. The wheels where a 0mm or standard offset though compared to factory which was a +28mm or something like that, so the wheels were pushed out about 1” inch or 1.25” I can’t remember exactly but it was was helped clear the lower coil seat mount. But there wasn’t any rubbing or scrubbing on the tires in the fenders or anywhere else. These link was when I had the Kenda Klever on which were a bit larger then the BFG’s, but this should help provide some additional clarity www.trailbuiltoffroad.com/wheel-offset-gallery/1362892/2012-toyota-highlander-black-rock-detour-adf-leveling-kit

    Awesome video. I actually picked up this same setup with the kyb strut assembly and anderson lift kit because of your video. I had a question for the rear strut assembly when I place the anderson kit on it , it doesn't sit flush like it does on the front. The screw on the kyb rear strut is longer than the front for some reason. Please let me know if you encountered this. Thanks.
