It’s a shame the story died just as the old gods, Elemental lords, red star, nigh omnipotent god, and the giant toa killing robot got involved.
That only means we get to make up fan canon for it that will never be overturned and everyone can have the story play out in a way they love the most

To be honest the whole lore sounds like a
sci-fi fantasy improv session that went on for too long.

It was supposed to last 20 years-
Sounds about right and I loved all of it as a kid.
Take it from an expert in the lore, myself, that's pretty much half of it.
Also, 97% of Bionicle characters, who look like robots, aren't actually robots.

I just love how the mask of life feels touched by Matoro's Toa path and ultimate sacrifice, deciding to be a Toa itself, just to later decide to annihilate its team mates when they were being mind controled.

I miss Bionicles
I think it was such a success because of the media attached to it. And the complexity of the lore. Yeah, seriously, the lore adds weight to the franchise that even as kids we understood the significance of the world.
And remarkably consistent in spite of various writers and teams working on it. Complex but with very little inconsistencies. Almost no IP can boast that.
Bionicle has an original series, a prequel series, a sequel series, and a reboot all before star wars did.

Ummmm... the Mata Nui Online Game flash game (the first one, not the sequel) is not horrendously broken. In fact, it's considered one of the best pieces of media BIONICLE ever had by the majority of its fans.

Krahka was actually a great character when she returned for the Visorak storyline.
The way Mask of Life is texture at 5:46 makes it look like a Fallout: New Vegas asset. Which is a good thing in my book.

More specifically than "Lego didn't want to give more money to Lucasfilm", TLG thought that the best way to move into the new century of building toys was to go with more pose-able actions figures. Slizer/Throwbots and RoboRiders weren't exactly discontinued for their lack of originality; Lego never intended them to last more than one wave of sets, as they were purely conceptual lines, and Lego used them to gauge what Lego fans wanted with that new building system.

It’s a decent story with fun and interesting locations and characters, not the smartest but fun and an open world Bionicle game on ps5 would be sweet, one where you can get different parts to power up
Look up chronicle quest for Mata nui. Not for the ps5 (likely pc), but it is everything else you described.
3:25 Rookie mistake - the Bionicle fandom wiki is notoriously messy and inconsistent. The most accurate, polished, and up-to-date wiki is the BS01 wiki, or Bionicle Sector 01 Wiki, and it is significantly better than the fandom wiki.
Bionicle was my entire childhood. And technically the Toa Metru came before the Toa Mata. I still have Toa Nokama And the ice vaki. I will NEVER let my bionicles go

"Entertainment" is a noun, and since you are saying this video is a mixture of two nouns, I thing the word you are looking for is "information".

The Krahka *does* come up again. Once. In one book, that you probably don't have. Then promptly gets sucked away into the Zone of Darkness, and *then* is never heard from again.
...And then appears again in the Ignition Saga.

Bionicle was THE franchise!
For some reason mars missions was my life.I have over 500 hours in the "Crystalien Conflict" game and occasionally still play the redux version xD
Bionicle, Power Miners, Mars Mission, those were the glory days...
So to some up: first, the Great Beings built a robot that exploded then built another one dubbing it the Matoran Universe/a gigantic robot with a literal universe inside it, the robot known as Mata Nui goes on an adventure then the Makuta family cause him to crash land and fall asleep. The events of the second and third movies take place first, the events of the third movie takes place sometime between events of the second movie. And the events of the first movie take place after the second and third. Then a whole bunch of new Toa teams go on a mission to revive Mata Nui and awaken him. Then comes Bionicle the Legend Reborn movie where Mata Nui wakes up and we found out all the “toa events” (that’s what I call some of the story) have happened inside a giant robot called Mata Nui. He wakes up, Makuta Teridax takes over and Mata Nui’s spirit and mask go to space and he crash lands on the planet Mata Nui’s giant robot universe body was created. He gets a new body, makes new friends, finds out the Great Beings made his original body, he finds the first robot body that exploded to fight his old one which we never get a movie sequel to our disappointment. And there’s a reboot. That wasn’t at all confusing was it? 😁
You forgot to mention how Takanuva was messing around in alternate universes before plopping out into Karda Nui, or how the totally not Suicide Squad had to go fight Makuta’s boss.
You forgot the story serials from 2011 that didn’t end properly lol

You had to be there. Jk, the story got really confusing after 2004. They extended the flashback from 1 year to 2 years instead and from there just added more side stories nd extraneous material that convoluted the main story.

Where did Toa Nuva find the mask of time anyway? In flash animation it seemed to appear out of nowhere for some reason, and Tahu Nuva managed to use it regardless his elemental powers being stolen...

Wait wait wait, what happened to the mata matoran when they turned into Inika?? I remember they were asleep in the tombs and the Piraka woke them up.
It was only really like that in one of the online animations. In the story proper, the 6 matoran are transformed in the Toa cannisters on the way to Voya Nui by the red star and wake up as the Toa Inika on its shore not unlike the Toa Mata of 01. They weren't entombed ancient Toa as the animation would have you think.
