  • The Golf R being the top of the line on VW brand don’t even have the lighting package in the rear cabin. This video solves this problem! Here is the installation of my rear footwell lights and it is the easiest, simplest, and safest way of running the harness underneath the seats.
    If anyone notice the flaw I wasn’t happy about in this entire installation, please leave your guess on the comment down below. 😅

    Nice upgrade. Never thought of that. Was thinking of doing an extra light in the hatch.
    Don't be scared to take panels off. I've taken off my door cards and hatch panels in the past. Go back on just as easy.
    No rattles 2 years since I did it.

      I actually did try going through the panel, but realized it will be more work and part of the wire will be visible. I found my way of doing it easier and cleaner

    Great clean OEM+ mod. I never liked how there are no ambient lighting at all in the rear seats. For front, we have lit - open latch, close handle, blue strip on upper trim, footwell, AND door sill... while for rear there's zero!

    Great video, i have a mk6, i took a different approach i followed the airbag wires for my seats , so quite abit extra work, i also made my own wiring harness 😅 as i had all the parts laying around from another retro fit

    Good sir, followed your guide and it worked like a charm!!! Thanks for this. Only problem I had was with the matte plastic housing that sits around the back black led cover, was too thick so I needed to cut it down to the right size so that it fit in the back seat hole. 👍🏾

      Glad it worked out well! That is exactly the same issue on the rear right passenger lights. I had to do the same thing.

    Hi, I will follow these steps for my Arteon R definitely just waiting to receive the light.
    I see that you have illuminated door sill have you upgraded this to or is it stock on the Golf R? Would like to change this if its possible cause I have it just with the logo on the brushed metal part of the sill without light…

    • @JNBTuning
      @JNBTuning  3 года назад +1

      @Kenan Handzic thank for reaching out! I am sure you will like them rear footwell lights as well. The door sill lightings on the the Golf R do come standard. I am almost certain that someone have done such retrofit on others VW platform. Just search around or do some research for such interchangeable parts.

    I see a problem. It's blocking the knee airbag. The correct place to run the cable would be the door pillar to access the seat. The centre part is not the right place even though it works properly.

      here is a photo of where the airbag deployment zone is. The harness is way down below near the pedals and not at all in the way of the marked zone. Give it a closer look and let me know… Thanks for your concern.
