Ive watched this like 6 times over and still counting.. Each one a complete classic...cant get enough !!! Thanks another amazing compilation from The Random Guy 💯
I know that "Celebration", "Just Can't Get Enough" and "Blue Monday" never fail to get me up on the dance floor! 💃Thanks so much for sharing, as always! 🎶💙
Great list! I graduated from college in ‘87 and I remember Come Go With Me by Exposé played a lot in the clubs. In the mid 80’s there was Kate Bush’s Running Up that Hill and Sandra’s Maria Magdalena. I loved dancing to Get into the Groove.
🎉 greetings from coastal Mississippi. As a teenager and adult in the 80's, I knew and danced to alot of these songs. Thank you for your research and memories. What wonderful music we had back in rhe 80's😂😅😊
Any '80s video will have a lot to choose from. ❤ My favourite '80s Bowie dance track was Fashion, though Let's Dance is no slouch. Hats off to New Order: not only was Blue Monday a neat song, it created a whole new genre. Beep! Beep!
As a Gen X, Its always interesting to read what later Gen Y, Z think of 80's music and movies. I used to feel the same the same about 50's and 60's era music. I'm definitely grateful to have been a teenager in this era. Its too bad the 80's ended, but its great that we all can share and enjoy the 80's vibe.
WOW, what a compilation! The 80's was the best decade for music. I'm glad, that you've included "White Horse" by Laid Back, one of the best b-sides ever.
I grew up through the 80's with all these fabulous hits. I still remember spending many Sunday afternoons listening to the chart show on radio one and watching TOTP on the TV every week. All of these awesome songs would be perfect for an 80's party night, though I'm sure Love Shack charted in 1990 so it's a bit odd seeing that on here. Great video, thanks for the memories.
Great video that brought back some great memories but Jody Watley should have been on this list. Her hits, Looking For A New Love, Some Kind of Lover, and Real Love were huge dance hits in the 80s. So was Shelia E's Glamorous Life.
Waw this is so good ! A perfect compilation for a 80's party night. I love all the songs of the list. Good inspiration for djs 👍! Thank you for this video !
6:35 is the very first song I ever danced to at a bar called Mitchell's in Baltimore in '84. Thank you so much for bringing back such great memories!! ❤️❤️❤️
I think Pet Shop Boys "You're on my mind", Pebbles' "Mercedes Boy" ,"Girlfriend" ,Modern Talking's "Brother Louie", Bonnie Tyler's ,"Holding out for a hero", DEF Leopard's "Pour some sugar on me"...and so on,these songs should be on the list!
Tq for another great compilation of 80’s..reminds me of Club MTV with Downtown Julie Brown days..One Night in Bangkok should have been on the list though..
I still miss the 1980's. It is as a time of a lot of changes. Some of these bands listed here still were on the fence between Disco and the 1980's style of music.
So many great songs to dance to! A second part video should include: Physical (Olivia Newton-John), Ghostbusters (Ray Parker Jr.), Tell It To My Heart (Taylor Dayne), Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go (Wham!), I Want Your Sex (George Michael), She Bop (Cyndi Lauper), You Dropped A Bomb On Me (Gap Band), Self Control (Laura Branigan), Don't Cry (Ken Laszlo), Who Do You Give Your Love To (Michael Morales), You Got It The Right Stuff (New Kids on the Block), Dancing in the Sheets (Shalamar), All Night Long (Lionel Richie), Love In The First Degree (Bananarama), Funkytown (Pseudo Echo), Miss You Much (Janet Jackson), Walk Of Life (Dire Straits), Call Me (Spagna), Dolce Vita (Christian Conde), Electric Avenue (Eddy Grant), In My House (Mary Jane Girls), It's A Miracle (Culture Club), Don't Blame It On That Girl (Matt Bianco), Karma Chameleon (Culture Club), Swing The Mood (Jive Bunny), Victory (Kool & The Gang), Who's Johnny (El DeBarge), Causing A Commotion (Madonna), Talk To Me (Chico DeBarge), Move Away (Culture Club), Looking For A New Love (Jody Watley), Hip To Be Square (Huey Lewis & The News), Strut (Sheena Easton), Dancing In The Dark (Bruce Springsteen), Caribbean Queen (Billy Ocean), Twist Of Fate (Olivia Newton-John), Another One Bites The Dust (Queen), Point Of No Return (Nu Shooz), Baby Love (Regina), My Prerogative (Bobby Brown), Everybody Have Fun Tonight (Wang Chung), Walking On Sunshine (Katrina & The Waves), Freeway Of Love (Aretha Franklin), Come Go With Me (Expose), Maneater (Hall & Oates), Head To Toe (Lisa Lisa & Cult Jam), Centerfold (J Geils Band), Jeopardy (Greg Kihn Band), The Reflex (Duran Duran), Need You Tonight (INXS), The Way You Make Me Feel (Michael Jackson), Only In My Dreams (Debbie Gibson), I Feel The Earth Move (Martika), I Didn't Mean To Turn You On (Robert Palmer), Sussudio (Phil Collins), I Think We're Alone Now (Tiffany), Rocket 2 U (The Jets), Mony Mony (Billy Idol), Glamorous Life (Sheila E.) and Let's Go Crazy (Prince).
And let's add: How Will I Know (Whitney Houston), Hi, Hi We Need Emotion (Sandra), U Got The Look (Prince & Sheena Easton), One Night In Bangkok (Murray Head), Catch Me I'm Falling (Pretty Poison), Girl You Know It's True (Milli Vanilli), Too Shy (Kajagoogoo), Cover Girl (New Kids on the Block), Cold Hearted (Paula Abdul), Baby Don't Forget My Number (Milli Vanilli), Hungry Like The Wolf (Duran Duran), Wake Up (Stop), When I Think Of You (Janet Jackson), Hurts So Good (John Mellencamp) and Another Brick (Fake).
Chains Of Love (Erasure), I Beg Your Pardon (Kon Kan), Stop (Erasure), Sometimes (Erasure), Shake Your Love (Debbie Gibson), Typical Male (Tina Turner), Love Is In Control (Donna Summer), The Wanderer (Donna Summer), Every Little Step (Bobby Brown), Everybody Salsa (Modern Romance), Japanese Boy (Aneka), Rock and Roll Is King (Electric Light Orchestra).
Dance floor or skating rink.....great list. I'd like to add couple Jem's 1. No Parking on the Dance Floor by Midnight Star 2. Double Dutch Bus by Frankie Smith
The powerhouse vocals of Donna Summer. She Works Hard For The Money - 1983; This Time I Know It's For Real - 1989. Her Unconditional Love, and Love's About To Change My Heart were great tunes, too.
Joy to listen, fun to watch - I bet you had good time making this compilation! Special thanks for refreshing our memory of such rarities as 5:05, 5:19, 5:49 and 9:53. And Pointer Sisters never did better than on this particular chart, I guess they outscored Madonna :)
Great Dance compilation of the unique sound of 80s. *I add "I'm Ready" (Kano), "It's More Fun To Compute" (Kraftwerk), "Don Quijote" (Magazine) , "Somebody" (Video, italy), "Woodspecker from Space" (Video Kids, Netherland), "Hollyday Rap" (MC Miker G and DJ Sven), "Rock me Amadeus" (Falco)* . Thanks for this great gift for keep in memory this musicians and performers.
I don't listen to this music anymore except for your vids Random, your vids always make me happy and if I want to hear the full song I go down the rabbit hole on YT. Love what you are doing and thank you very much!:) I sometimes forget how great the tunes were back then.
Pointer Sisters were great. Wham, I definitely remember Wake Me Up Before You Go Go being played a lot. What else... Five Star - System Addict maybe, Sinita - So Macho, lots of really cheesy stuff.
Another great compilation. 149 bangers and then there's Love Shack. Never liked that song and I doubt I ever will. There are some notable dance songs not on here though. First one that comes to mind is Wham with Wake Me Up Before You Go Go. How can a list of 80s dance hits not have that one. Then there's Cyndi Lauper's song Girls Just Wanna Have Fun. Other notable dance hits were Debbie Gibson's Only In My Dreams or Shake Your Love and NKOTB with either Hangin' Tough, You've Got It (The Right Stuff) or Cover Girl. Glad to see (and hear) Kylie Minogue and Samantha Fox make the video. Samantha's song Naughty Girls (Need Love Too) was another big dance hit from the 80s. It's also notable that no songs from Michael Jackson's Bad album were in the video. Either the title track or Smooth Criminal would have fit.

Shoutout for Desireless, the only french song in these 80's list. If there was one french song it had to be this one. Well done.
So many of these songs I knew but never knew the name or artist. Man this proves the 80s created the best music to last forever
The good old days of Italo Disco.
My goodness, weren't we bloomin' lucky to be alive during this golden age of popular music?
Stacey Q should be on one of these 80s lists. Not just 2 of Hearts, but Syntheside, Screaming in my Pillow and We Connect.. she was a great performer.

We lost a lot of fabulous artists watching this.
There are some 1979 songs sneaking into the 80s, although they're late '79 releases that would only become hits in 1980 so, it's comprehensible! 😅
Thanks for those compilation, i feel like there was much more good vibes then or maybe it's a just a nostalgic feeeling...
