@@vince.sarigumba The Arminian understanding of salvation is a denial of the Word of God. 1st John 3:9 says this: "Whoever has been born of God does not sin, for His seed remains in him; and he cannot sin, because he has been born of God." So there is an aspect of our being, the born-again spirit, that CANNOT sin. The soul (mind, emotions, will) is gradually renewed (Romans 12:2), but the body, the Flesh, remains sinful until the Day of Resurrection (Romans 7:18). So if there is an aspect of our being that CANNOT sin, everlasting life can never be forfeited.
@jessetchemendy4201 you talkin to me? you talkin to me? what's a false gospel? That the promise of Jesus that by simply believing in Him one has irrevocable eternal life? That John 3:16 is true? That's a false gospel? Well I guess you think God is a liar then. Yikes!! Wouldn't want to be in your shoes on the Day of Judgement. 🔥🔥🔥🔥
BECAUSE THE BIBLE SAYS SO ... EXPLAIN FALLING AWAY FROM YOUR SECURE POSITION ... 2 Peter 3:17 Therefore, dear friends, since you have been forewarned, be on your guard so that you may not be carried away by the error of the lawless and fall from your secure position. NOW LOOK AT THE CONTEXT ... IT ISN'T ABOUT REWARDS. 14 So then, dear friends, since you are looking forward to this, make every effort to be found spotless, blameless and at peace with him. 15 Bear in mind that our Lord’s patience means salvation, just as our dear brother Paul also wrote you with the wisdom that God gave him. 16 He writes the same way in all his letters, speaking in them of these matters. His letters contain some things that are hard to understand, which ignorant and unstable people distort, as they do the other Scriptures, to their own destruction.
@Jesus Christ Is My Lord And Savior Timothy 2:12 If we endure, we will also reign with him. If we disown him, he will also disown us; If we deny Him he will deny us. If you walk away from the Savior rejecting Him you are damned. He will renounce you. Matthew 10:33 But whoever disowns me before others, I will disown before my Father in heaven. You do NOT want to hear these words I never knew you. You were never mine. 2 Timothy 2:13 If we are faithless, he remains faithful, for he cannot disown himself. It does not mean He will remain faithful to you otherwise deny in v-12 would mean nothing. If you are faithless and throw it away, you're not a believer. He is faithful to Himself. The way he vindicated Himself is by throwing you out. God values His trustworthiness and if you decide I'm going to go my own way to a life of sin you no longer trust in Him. He's faithful to the worth of His name. The way God vindicates His trustworthiness to those who reject it, its called hell. Don't fool yourself with your unbelief by thinking God's still faithful to me. He is faithful He cannot deny Himself, that's who He is faithful to. If you hold to Jesus saying you are trustworthy you are everything to me, acknowledge you're just a hopeless sinner He cannot deny you. Your security is as firm as His allegiance is to His name.
How can you lose something you did not earn for yourself? This comes from God alone. Jesus Christ died for our sins. He loves us so much we were worth it. We cannot lose our salvation and fall to hell. Jesus said we would never perish. Never means never!
The Father never disowns, although a sons decision to never return is not something the Father forces regardless of how much it pains Him. Fear of the Lord is the beginning of Wisdom. I wouldn’t take this once saved always saved doctrine built on one Bible verse as Gospel when multiple others clarify the actual meaning. Hi, this is my husband's wife. I used to serve God out of fear and you are absolutely correct in that fearing hell is very paralyzing...and very preoccupying. I know God doesn't want us to live in fear so clearly there is a peace that comes in trusting that God's salvation comes from the sacrifice of his son...not anything we do or don't do.
I know from experience EXACTLY what you were speaking of.. I grew up heavily influenced by charismatic Pentecostal movement. Mostly out of a sense of my inner brokenness and a turbulent life that began for me at 5 years old. Fear is a huge motivator in the Armenian persuasion. They're even some Baptist churches that are Armenian... However, love is a much stronger motivator.. it is impossible for you to love something or someone you fear. Aw tozer.. stated it beautifully, when he said that what a person thinks about God, is everything about them. In a nutshell.. what he was saying is that there is a difference between what God is like in our imaginations and what God is really like.

1 John 3:7- 7Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous. 8 He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil. 9Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God. 10In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother. 1 John 5:3 For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.
Fear is not of God so if you are motivated by fear of losing salvation you are not operating out of Gods grace and mercy and his right hand of righteousness holding you up.first John talks about that he who fears has not been perfected in love because fear means you expect punishment for not performing right or maby falling into sin.that’s the thing a believers sin is gone when we trust in Christ for forgiveness which by Gods grace we are free from that moment on to live and be joyful and worship God and share our faith.we’re to glorify God by witnessing to people about Gods goodness
It's funny, for a person to believe that they could lose their salvation, they must first believe that they deserve it in the first place. Scripture clearly says, while we were yet sinners ... If all knowing God knew we were going sin again (which we all do) after he saved us only to take it back. Why would he save us in the first place. We don't deserve salvation, can't earn it, and can't keep it by doing good works. Says we are saved into good works, not by good works. I think that the people that Jesus will tell, " I never knew you" fall under the salvation by works category. Thank you for you teachings brother Bob

Either entrance into His Kingdom is by faith , or it is by works . Romans 4:16 forever clarifies the sole condition : ..."therefore it is by faith that it might be according to grace , that the Promise would be certain "... Faith accords with unmerited favor . It also accords with doubtless assurance . Certainty of Everlasting Life is therefore the biblical definition of faith . Fearing loss of an un-lose-able gift is as logically incoherent as it is exegetically impossible .

@@GeniusJewels In Matthew 7:21 what is the "will" of My Father who is in heaven? The Greek word that is translated as “does” is poieo. The word appears 598 times in the New Testament. It has been demonstrated that the Greek word for “does” refers to action that performs an activity. This word is a verb and not a noun.Since poieo is a verb, we must also determine the meaning of its tense, voice and mood. The tense of poieo in Matthew 7:21 is in the present tense.Poieo in the present tense refers to action that is ongoing. For example, when Jesus said, “he who does the will” He was referring to ongoing action at that moment in time. In other words he who is doing the Father's will. The Greek word for “does” is a Greek present participle which implies ongoing behavior. The person who does the will of God once in a while does not qualify. Jesus is describing someone who habitually does the will of the Father. Poieo is also in the active voice, which means that when Jesus said, “he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven will enter” He was saying that the individual must be performing the action. A life of obedience (present tense “do” [Ποιωv] for continuous action) to his will is, in fact, the definition of righteousness. when Jesus says “. . . but he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven will enter.” The word “does” is a present, active, participle verb which means that those who continuously are doing the will of the Father go to heaven. Jesus was referring to a pattern of life and not perfect obedience. The character of true Christians is that they sin less and less as they mature in their faith.

Also when Jesus says, "he that believeth in me shall never perish".....doesn't that also by interpolation mean he that stops believing in me shall perish? Also, in the story of the Prodigal Son, my understanding is that the son, the believer, to his inheritance (his eternal relationship with his father) and left to go back into the world, but repented and returned to his father. The father said that the son in the previous condition was dead, but now is alive again. I need help with that also. Thank you.

That's why when Jesus said to Peter and his disciples be glad for your name is written in the book of Life, you don't see the disciples holding objection.. because it's commonly known in Judaism at least the Judaism of jesus's day that your name was potentially in the book before you were ever born
I am not a once saved always saved sister because i believe that if one starts living in sinning/ loving your sin that you no longer believe , truly believe in Jesus . Where is the abide in Him or obeying Him .
Sin is never an issue in the gospel message of salvation. Faith in Jesus as your savior is….Being in union with Christ is eternal, we are sealed by the Holy Spirit and there is NO condemnation for those who are in Christ. Communion with Jesus is broken by sin in the Christian’s life….sin grieves the Holy Spirit and causes a loss of fellowship. The divine remedy for sin in the Christian’s life is found in 1 John 1:9…..”If we confess our sin, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sin and cleans us from all unrighteousness.” In Salvation the is NO condemnation for those who are “in Christ.” It’s why the Apostle wrote: “For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Confusion between communion and union is a very common practice….sad to say. May God bless you.
In John 3:14-15 Jesus said receiving everlasting life happens at the point of expectant faith, just as the Israelites received physical healing at the point of looking to the bronze snake on the pole. God did not tell the Israelites they had to keep staring at the snake the rest of their lives in order to maintain their healing. And 1st John 3:9 says this: "Whoever has been born of God does not sin, for His seed remains in him; and he cannot sin, because he has been born of God." So if there is an aspect of our being that CANNOT sin, everlasting life can never be forfeited. Abiding in him (as in John 15) has to do with discipleship and reigning with Christ in the world to come, not "maintaining" everlasting life.

But discipleship is NOT salvation! Salvation is a permenant free gift & work of God. He who has begun a good work in you WILL COMPLETE IT - WILL COMPLETE IT, & WILL RAISE YOU UP at the last day! If a person believes they can lose their salvation, would not that necessarily mean they believe in a works-based salvation and are not saved to begin with?
@@jameswalter3136 , thanks for commenting. As far as falling away, there has been an ongoing debate forever as to what this means. One side of the conversation says "falling away" does not mean loss of salvation, and explains their thesis Biblically and vice versa. The point of my original comment was that if someone believes they can do something to lose or do something to keep or earn their salvation, it must be based on works. Sometimes people say, "No, they need to get their faith back". But, faith and works are separate entities, as described by the Word of God. I was just saying, faith aside, and looking at the evil spoken of in Hebrews (falling away), if someone thinks they must "do" something good to keep their salvation, or must "do" something bad to lose their salvation. In both cases, it speaks on the person and their works, thus, a "works based salvation" and not faith alone.
@@DH-sj6kg Thanks for the explanation. I see where you are coming from and it makes sense from that point of view. But, if salvation is based on faith and a spirit relationship I see the possibility for loss of both without works being the issue. For example, someone could get offended by God due to a severe hardship or life loss and stop trusting God. It is not reasonable but I have seen it happen. Beside that I can see people becoming lured away by worldly affections until their love grows cold.
@@jameswalter3136 Oh, that was a good example that did not include works. Even while setting works aside, I liken Christians to the thief on the cross. He believed in Jesus and Jesus then told him that, today, you will be with me in paradise. From that point, up until his death, the thief could have lost his faith in Jesus, or cursed Jesus, but nothing was going to change the fact that the thief was on his way to Paradise, no matter what. Why, because Jesus said so. Jesus saved him eternally, once and for all when he believed in Jesus. And Jesus makes those same promises to everyone today who believes in him. I agree that there are verses that sound like a person can lose their saving faith, but those verses are few and fuzzy in some cases or easily explained. The overwhelming majority of scripture is all about faith alone. I like to compare fuzzy scripture with the clear and not the clear aginst the fuzzy. I believe that Jesus has told us through scripture that we will too be with him because we have believed and were sealed, no matter what.
@@DH-sj6kg I love the verses that speak of our assurance of salvation. I love the bible like you and try to live by it. Your interpretive hermeneutic is good but the bible has lots of verses that refer to falling away and losing faith. Some very specific - not fuzzy. I am trying to hold both together. As disciples we should be wary of throwing out verses that are uncomfortable to us.
I believe everything you're saying, but please explain the scripture that says, "Do not fear those who can destroy the body, but after that can do no more, but I will tell you who you should fear. Fear Him who after destroying the body can destroy both body and soul in hell. Yes I tell you fear him". What is the context here? If believers can't lose salvation (which I believe they can't) then how does one who believes in eternal security explain this passage? Was he only talking to unbelievers and deniers here?
@Alvin Fen I believe in Jesus, but I dare not presume my salvation. No, Eve believed the lie that she would not die if she sinned, and thus brought sin into the world. Get behind me, Satan!
@Alvin Fen Too many today focus only on God's grace to the point of erroneously thinking that avoiding sin is in itself is works. Jesus died for our sins but to believe that means I can live how I want shows that person doesn't fear God.
@Alvin Fen It is written, "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us, and cleanse us of all unrighteousness." Forgiveness is contingent on confession and repentance (for the one who does not repent is not confessing his sins, but rather boasting and attempting to mock God).
@Alvin Fen Why do you distort Christ's words. He said Peter was clean, yes, but He also said, "Unless I wash your feet, you have no inheritance with Me." Adam and Eve were immortal before they sinned, but because they sinned, they incurred death. Remember the Parable of the Unforgiving Servant: He begged his Master's mercy, and his Master forgave him the ten thousand talents, but when he refused to show mercy to his fellow servant over a debt of 100 denarii, the Master demanded the ten thousand talents be paid in full, sentencing him to the torturers until he repaid it, which was impossible. Here is a man, once forgiven his sins, whom God condemns to Hell because he would not forgive his fellow man. He received eternal life, and then he had it revoked because he would not love his neighbor.
Amen Brother Wilkin. I do have a question, though. Some think if you believe you can lose you salvation, then you are not saved. Basically, thinking Jesus' redemptive work on the cross is not enough. They have to do their part. What is your understanding of this?
I once feel into that same camp that you just mentioned. That we must do our part. I certainly was in error. I do believe that I was saved then, I was just young and lacked clear understanding. Jesus brought me along and through the holy spirit taught me correctly. It just takes time for some people. That is why we study scriptures, and how important it is to disciple new believers. We must understand that it is God that does the saving through the holy spirit. So if the spirit is willing to save the sinner, He will bring us into wright understanding, and we will grow in sanctification.

Many people believe that they can lose salvation based upon an errant understanding of Hebrews 6:4-8, Hebrews 10:26-27, John 15:2,6, 2 Corinthians 13:5, 2 Corinthians 13:5, 2 Timothy 2:12, Revelation 3:5, etc, etc. Because of the way certain passages in the Bible are written, these passages can easily be misunderstood and easily capitalized on by false doctrine, especially Calvinism and Arminianism. The aforementioned passages have literally been hijacked by Calvinism and Arminianism. In reality, the correct interpretation on these passages is that they are talking about imminent TEMPORAL chastisement from God if we live in blatant disobedience, unfaithfulness, and apostasy, BUT we are still saved. We can ONLY lose ETERNAL REWARDS and the privilege of REIGNING with Christ which are earned by our performance in this life. All saved Christians works in this life will be evaluated and assessed at the Judgment Seat of Christ to determine the gain or loss of ETERNAL REWARDS, not eternal life which is free. The Judgment Seat of Christ is reserved for SAVED PEOPLE ONLY - 2 Corinthians 5:10, 1 Corinthians 3:10-15. It is separate from the Great White Throne Judgment reserved exclusively for the UNSAVED ONLY - Revelation 20:11-15. 1) FAITHFUL CHRISTIANS in this life that lived obediently, and faithfully and did things that have eternal value will be granted with eternal rewards, and for some, the earned privilege of reigning with Christ in the Millennium is granted - 2 Timothy 2:12, Revelation 3:21, and Revelation 2:26. Their lives will be tested with fire (Christ's fiery scrutiny) and WILL PASS THE TEST and be granted eternal rewards and some will reign with Christ. 2) UNFAITHFUL CHRISTIANS in this life that lived disobediently, and carnally will have their works tested with the fire of Christ's scrutiny at the Judgment Seat of Christ. Their lives, that is, their works had no eternal value and WILL FAIL THE TEST and be denied eternal rewards, BUT are still saved because eternal life is a free gift apart from works - Ephesians 2:8-9, Romans 3:20, Romans 3:28, Romans 4:2-6, Romans 9:32, Romans 11:6, Galatians 2:16, Galatians 2:21, Gal ch. 3, Galatians 5:4, Titus 3:5. If we Christians deny Christ in this life by living unfaithfully, disobediently, or carnally in this life and then die in that state of mind, then Christ will DENY us ETERNAL REWARDS and the privilege of REIGNING with Him (latter half of 2 Timothy 2:12), but our eternal salvation remains intact and untouched as 2 Timothy 2:13 clearly states. Believers who endure and persevere under trials and hardships in this life will REIGN with Christ. 2 Timothy 2:12-13 - 12 If we suffer, we shall also REIGN WITH HIM: if we deny him, he also will deny us: 13 If we believe not, YET HE ABIDETH FAITHFUL: he cannot deny himself. 2 John 1:8 - Watch out that you do not LOSE what we have WORKED FOR, but that you may be REWARDED FULLY. If Christians DENY CHRIST in this life by living in blatant disobedience, unfaithfulness, carnality, worldiness, and apostasy, then Christ will DENY US eternal rewards and reigning with Him that we otherwise could have been entitled to had we lived right in this life, BUT WE ARE STILL SAVED as our eternal salvation is not of our works in this life. God sometimes punishes unfaithful Christians who are saved with SICKNESS and premature PHYSICAL DEATH who are living in willful sin which is in essence defiling themselves - 1 Corinthians 3:17, 1 John 5:16-17, but they are still saved. The Christians in the Corinthian church who were eating selfishly and getting drunk at the Lord's Supper are a classic example - 1 Corinthians 11:20-22, 1 Corinthians 11:29-30. Eternal life is FREE, BUT eternal rewards are EARNED. There is a big difference. This is what 1 Corinthians 3:10-15 is talking about: 10 By the grace God has given me, I laid a foundation as a wise builder, and someone else is building on it. But each one should build with care. 11 For no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ. 12 If anyone builds on this foundation using gold, silver, costly stones, wood, hay or straw, 13 their work will be shown for what it is, because the Day will bring it to light. It will be revealed with fire, and the fire will test the quality of each person’s work. 14 If what has been built survives, the builder will receive a reward. 15 If it is burned up, the builder WILL SUFFER LOSS, but YET WILL BE SAVED-even though only as one escaping through the flames. The "gold", "silver", and "costly stones" represents faithful Christian's works in this life that had eternal value and will STAND UP to the fire used to test it, but the "wood", "hay", and "straw" represents unfaithful Christian's works in this life that had no eternal value, but will BURN UP in the fire used to test it. The "gold, "silver", and "costly stones" symbolize a life of obedience, commitment, perseverance, faithfulness, endurance under trial, etc. but the "wood", "hay", and "straw" symbolizes a life of unfaithfulness, disobedience, carnality, laziness, etc. Again, the "burned up" and "flames" in verse 15 is not referring to the flames of hell, but is referring to the works of the carnal, unfaithful, and disobedient Christians in this life that had no eternal value that is BURNED UP when tested with Christ's fiery scrutiny. Their eternal salvation remains intact and untouched, for eternal life is a free gift apart from works - Ephesians 2:8-9, Romans 6:23. In conclusion, UNFAITHFUL Christians in this life who lived disobediently and carnally will experience chastisement in this life from God including SICKNESS and premature PHYSICAL DEATH for some - 1 John 5:16-17, Proverbs 15:10, Hebrews 12:5-11, Jeremiah 2:19, 1 Corinthians 11:29-30, Acts 5:1-10, and experience SHAME (1 John 2:28) and a forfeiture of ETERNAL REWARDS at the Judgment Seat of Christ, but loss of eternal life is NEVER one of the consequences - 1 Corinthians 3:15, 2 Timothy 2:13.
@@dshng...5554 Regarding the parable of the 10 Virgins, the 5 wise virgins represent Jewish Christians in the first half of the Tribulational period who developed sufficient spiritual strength through God’s Word and through prayer. They were ready and their readiness sustained them through the tribulation. The foolish virgins represent Jewish Christians who failed to develop the spiritual strength that would enable them to live through the last three and a half years. The 5 foolish virgins last minute rush to prepare proved to be a failure. Their lack of preparation resulted in a LOSS OF OPPORTUNITY to participate in the blessings and rewards of the kingdom. Because of their failure to prepare, the Jewish Christians also lost out on the opportunity to REIGN with Christ in His kingdom. So the door gets shut in their faces at the very last minute and they are denied by Jesus. It is important to note that Jesus response in this context is “I don’t know you”, which is much different from “I NEVER knew you” as recorded in Matthew 7:23. “I don’t know you” is a denial of privileges and opportunity from Jesus because of their failure to prepare, but “I NEVER KNEW YOU” is a denial of KINGDOM ENTRANCE from Jesus because of their failure to BELIEVE in His finished work - John 6:40. The parable of the 10 Virgins needs to be read in light of 2 Timothy 2:12-13. 2 Timothy 2:12-13 - 12 If we suffer, we shall also REIGN WITH HIM: if we deny him, he also will deny us: 13 If we believe not, yet HE ABIDETH FAITHFUL: he cannot deny himself. Of course, all false teachers, especially Calvinists/Lordship Salvation people like John MacArthur will no doubt twist and pervert this parable to mean that the 5 wise virgins represent faithful and obedient Christians who "make it into heaven" based on their good works, but that the 5 foolish virgins were unfaithful and disobedient Christians who get denied salvation based on their lack of works.
@@dshng...5554 Also, this parable of the 10 Virgins cannot be referring to the loss of eternal life for the wise virgins encouraged the foolish ones to go out and "buy oil" for their lamps that were burning out. Eternal life which is a free gift cannot be bought. The issue here is readiness which the foolish virgins lacked. They anticipated the Lord, but they were not ready to be declared worthy to reign with Him. Again, Jesus statement of "I don't know you" contrasts sharply with His statement of "I NEVER knew you" which is a world of difference.
@@dshng...5554 If they are ready when the Lord comes, then they will be entitled to rule and reign with Him, but if not, they won't reign. However, they are still saved - 1 Corinthians 3:14-15.
The thing with judgment, it's a slippery slope. We are judge and judged, and we wrestle with angels just as Jacob did (See Statue of Liberty for example - casts a shadow of doubt). Our first mistake is staring into a vanity mirror (black mirror) like the Queen in Snow White and seeing different responses - why people need to avoid overuse of computers and the mixed messages it will deliver. I was given Saint Clare and the mirror of eternity - this is the mirror of the abyss. Hold faith by staring into the light, not the darkness. Pride is the worst sin, so it is best not to sway others in such a manner - we are not the judge: God is our judge.
I think fundamentally there is confusion between being in “union” with Christ and being in “communion” with Christ. In Salvation, there is NO condemnation for those who believe. Our communication or fellowship with Christ is broken by sin in the life of the Christian. We are told to grieve not the Holy Spirit, quench not the H/Sp…..since puts us out of fellowship/filling of the Spirit. Has nothing to do with losing Salvation. There is no condemnation for those who are in Christ. Importantly, the divine remedy for sin in our life is found in 1 John 1:9….confession. Salvation is secure because Christ sacrificed for us….
We know about the verses that assure us of salvation. The bible also has verses that speak of falling away. See Hebrews 6:4-6 For it is impossible, in the case of those who have once been enlightened, who have tasted the heavenly gift, and have shared in the Holy Spirit, and have tasted the goodness of the word of God and the powers of the age to come, and then have fallen away, to restore them again to repentance, since they are crucifying once again the Son of God to their own harm and holding him up to contempt. Heb 3. 12-13; Heb 10:26-28. 2 Peter 2:20-2 For if, after they have escaped the defilements of the world through the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, they are again entangled in them and overcome, the last state has become worse for them than the first. For it would have been better for them never to have known the way of righteousness than after knowing it to turn back from the holy commandment delivered to them. Ezec. 18:24-26; 1 Tim 4:1-2 among others. We need to understand and apply all of the bible.
we need to divide the truth properly !! 2 tim 2:15 hebrews was written to Hebrews not the body of Christ Matthew10:5-6 These twelve Jesus sent forth, and commanded them, saying, Go not into the way of the Gentiles, and into any city of the Samaritans enter ye not: 6But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel. Matthew 15:24 But he answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel. Romans15:8 Now I say that Jesus Christ was a minister of the circumcision for the truth of God, to confirm the promises made unto the fathers: James1:1 James, a servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ, to the twelve tribes which are scattered abroad, greeting.
@@wolfwatchers Wow! You need to read and understand the Bible! Do you really think Jesus and the disciples came only for the Jews?! Certain people for limited times, yes but not for His entire ministry. What about Paul's life ministry to gentiles? Beside, what does that have to do with the verses truth and application? Hebrew Christians were Christian believers of Hebrew descent.

Good video. I have one question. Why do you account John 3:16 to us today the body of Christ when Jesus was still alive and His death, burial and resurrection is not in John 3:16 to believe to be saved. But we need to believe in His DBR today to be saved. Jesus and the 12 did not preach the gospel of the grace of God by which we are saved by today. How do I know this? Because the 12 did not want Jesus to go to the cross. Ever hear of doubting Thomas? Read Matt 16. And read this verse from AFTER the resurrection: Mark 16:14 KJV Afterward he appeared unto the eleven as they sat at meat, and upbraided them with their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they believed not them which had seen him after he was risen. John tells us what the Jews under the law waiting for their Messiah were to believe and this is what the word believe means in John 3:16. John 20:31 KJV But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name.
We don’t want the cross either for many years. We all put self under the law too. Trying to accomplish works that only God can. God is showing us our nature and his patience and mercy. Total dependance upon God is the way. The tree of life. Humility. Why blessed are the poor in spirit is the first blessing spoken of. Of course many teach the sermon on the mount is not for us. It’s rightly divide not delete. Sermon on the mount is the best. Righteousness imparted. How God expects us to live and love and treat others. The way. Mercy and truth! Love one another.
At the synagogue in Capernaum, Jesus said in John 6:47 -- "Very truly! I say to you, the person who believes in Me has everlasting life." That was before His DBR, but Jesus gave them then and there everlasting life. He was able to do this proleptically, looking forward to what He WOULD do. Today, we look back to it. The essential thing was and is to believe in (rely on) HIM. Saving faith consists of these three elements: 1) believe in 2) Jesus 3) for everlasting life.
@@affirmative3542 Thanks for your comment. If I may suggest a correction. Under the gospel of the kingdom Jesus and the 12 were preaching you are correct, they were required to believe in Jesus. But what was the belief about Jesus? John tells us what they needed to believe to have eternal life. John 20:31 KJV But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name. Israel had to believe Jesus was the Christ, the Son of God. But it doesn't stop there. They also needed to be water baptized, (Mark 16:16, Acts 2:38. They also needed to keep the law as Jesus commanded. Matt 19:16 KJV And, behold, one came and said unto him, Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life? Matt 19:17 KJV And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments. You see the kingdom gospel to Israel is/was different than the new gospel Jesus gave to Paul for us today to be saved by, the gospel of the grace of God. Paul's gospel, excluded Israel, the law and water baptism but did require to believe and put our trust in Christ' DBR. We know the 12 did not preach Paul's gospel b/c they didn't want Jesus to go to the cross, they didn't believe Him when He said He was going to the cross, and finally - they didn't believe Jesus rose from the death even AFTER He rose. Mark 16:14. For your consideration: www.believethebible.net/rightly-dividing-the-word
@@Believe_the_Bible According to the theology of the Gospel of John, "the Christ" is the One who gives everlasting life to whoever simply relies on Him for it. For proof, read the account of the Woman at the Well in John 4. It is true that "the Gospel of the Kingdom" entails more than that, but the fact remains that Jesus told people during His earthly ministry to simply rely on him for everlasting life. They didn't yet know what He had to do to make that possible, but He still could give it to them proleptically. John 6:26-29: "Jesus answered them and said, 'Truly, truly, I say to you, you seek Me, not because you saw signs, but because you ate of the loaves and were filled. Do not work for the food which perishes, but for the food which endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give to you, for on Him the Father, God, has set His seal.' Therefore they said to Him, 'What shall we do, so that we may work the works of God?'Jesus answered and said to them, 'This is the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He has sent.'"
In John 3:16 John doesn't say believed he says believeth. Some mistakingly think John's gospel was written for evangelism because it says in John 20:31 But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that "believing" ye might have life through his name. The misunderstanding is because in John's gospel the word believe is always in the present continuous tense, which doesn't mean just believe once, it means go on believing. Everywhere in John's gospel the emphasis is going on believing. For God so loved the world that He gave his only begotten Son that whosoever goes on believing- present continuous tense- Whoever is believing. It means to go on doing something, all the way through John's gospel it means go on believing that Jesus is the son of God, going on believing, you may go on having life. That whosoever goes on believing will never perish but go on having eternal life. Ask any expert in Greek and they will say that's what the original text says. In other words John's gospel was not written to convert people but to tell believers to continue believing. That's why John doesn't deal with repentance or water baptism because he assumes the readers are already repented and been baptized. The fact that John doesn't mention repentance doesn't mean its not necessary. 👉He's saying go on believing because in Ephesus, where John lived when he wrote it there was a heretic called Cerinthus that was teaching bad things about Jesus and that bad teaching was getting into the church. 👈 👉So John wrote his gospel for believers to encourage them go on believing in Jesus as the son of God. Believing that Jesus is the son of God, going on believing that you may go on having life. It's wrong if you stop believing and walk away from your faith to think, I said I believed [past tense] that you will still have everlasting life. John 3:17-21 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him 18Whoever BELIEVES IN HIM is NOT CONDEMNED, but whoever does not BELIEVE STANDS CONDEMNED ALREADY BECAUSE THEY HAVE NOT BELIEVED in the name of God’s one and only Son. [You must continue believing or you are condemned] 19THIS IS THE VERDICT: LIGHT HAS COME INTO THE WORLD, (BUT PEOPLE LOVED DARKNESS) INSTEAD OF LIGHT BECAUSE THEIR (DEEDS WERE EVIL). 20 (EVERYONE WHO DOES EVIL) (HATES THE LIGHT) (AND WILL NOT COME INTO THE LIGHT) FOR (FEAR THAT THEIR DEEDS WILL BE EXPOSED. ) [ There must be a change of conduct] 21But (WHOEVER LIVES BY THE TRUTH COMES INTO THE LIGHT,) so that it (MAY BE SEEN PLAINLY THAT WHAT THEY HAVE DONE HAS BEEN DONE IN THE SIGHT OF GOD.) To merely say I believe without it being the truth meaning loving darkness, living in sin HATES THE LIGHT) Repentance and a change in life (from living In a sin filled life in darkness) (to walking in Holiness. The LIGHT.)
Not true . Wilkin addresses this succinctly : We sometimes are led to believe that the Greek present tense means that continuous action is taking place. That is not true in the indicative mood (e.g., he drinks). It sometimes refers to such action. The context, not the verb tense, tells us. And it is not true for articular participles, either (e.g., he who drinks or everyone who drinks). There are two rock-solid proofs that the drinking in John 4:13-14 cannot mean he who continually drinks. (John 4:14 uses an aorist subjunctive, but it clearly is used synonymously with ho pinōn in John 4:13. So in this article I sometimes speak of John 4:13, but clearly the same point is true of v 14.) But before I get there, let’s see proof of the fact that the present tense in the indicative mood and in participles need not refer to continuous action. Present Indicative The present indicative often does not refer to continuous action or even to action taking place in the present. Wallace himself lists instantaneous presents (also called punctiliar presents) where present indicatives refer to “an action [which] is completed at the moment of speaking. This occurs only in the indicative. It is relatively common” (Greek Grammar Beyond the Basics, p. 517). Examples he gives are Mark 2:5 (“your sins are forgiven”); John 3:3 (“I say to you”); Acts 9:34 (“Jesus Christ heals you”); Acts 25:11 (“I appeal to Caesar”). Wallace also lists progressive presents which refers to “a scene in progress” (p. 518). This too is not action that is continuous. It is ongoing, but has a definite and soon stopping point (e.g., Matt 25:8; Mark 1:37; Acts 2:8; 3:12; Rom 9:1). Wallace later discusses historical presents, which “describe a past event” (p. 526); perfective presents, which “emphasize that the results of a past action are still continuing” (p. 532); conative presents, which “portrays the subject as desiring to do something, attempting to do something, or at the point of almost doing something” (p. 534); futuristic presents, which “describe a future event” (p. 535). Present Articular Participles Present articular participles often do not refer to continuous action. Wallace says that in the case of anarthrous participles, they “behave just as they do in the indicative [except] now the point of reference is the controlling verb, not the speaker” (p. 614). See above paragraph to see how indicatives are used in the present. Concerning articular participles, he speaks of some that function as adjectives and some that have a substantival use: “It functions in the place of a substantive[noun] ” (p. 619). That is the category in which he gives the example of John 4:13. Many of the examples he gives clearly do not refer to continuous action: Mark 6:44 (“those who ate the loaves”); Luke 1:45 (“blessed is she who believed”); John 6:39 (“this is the will of the Father who sent me”); Acts 1:16 (“those who arrested Jesus”). However, those are all aorist articular participles. But he also mentions 2 Thess 2:6-7 regarding “the one who is restraining.” That is a present articular participle and it does not refer to ongoing continuous action since Paul says that the restrainer will be taken away during the seven years of the Tribulation: “until He is taken out of the way” (2 Thess 2:7). Wallace also mentions Luke 2:18, another present articular participle: “And all those who heard [hoi akousantes] it marveled…” Obviously that does not refer to continuous action. Wallace might have mentioned Mark 6:14, “And he said, ‘John the Baptist [Ioannes ho baptizōn] has risen from the dead.’” That is a present articular participle. Obviously, John was not continuously baptizing people since he was dead. We still call him John the baptizing one nearly 2,000 years after his last baptism."
(Continued from Wilkin) : Proof One John 4:13 proves that continuous drinking is not in view. In verse 13 the Lord Jesus is speaking of drinking normal water. He says, “whoever drinks of this [natural] water will thirst again.” He cannot possibly mean, “whoever continually drinks of this [natural] water will thirst again.” As long as you continuously (or iteratively, that is, every hour or so) drink, you will never thirst. Jesus is saying that one drink of natural water will temporarily satisfy your thirst, but it will not eliminate your thirst forever. It is only a temporary fix. Proof Two John 4:15 proves that John 4:14 does not refer to continuous drinking. In John 4:15 the woman said, “Sir, give me this water, that I may not thirst, nor come here to draw.” Clearly, she understands Jesus to be saying that one drink of His living water would mean, 1) she would never thirst again, and 2) she would never need to draw regular water again. The Lord does not correct her, nor does the Apostle John who is reporting this incident. The woman is correct in understanding that once she drinks His living water, then she will never thirst again. She will be secure the moment she drinks it (= the moment she believes in Jesus; compare John 6:35, “He who believes in Me will never thirst”). A Final Point One final point deserves mention. Let’s say that ho pinōn means, as Wallace suggests, “everyone who continuously drinks” (p. 621), and thus it takes continuous believing to be born again so that one will never thirst (v 14). When would a person fulfill that requirement? At a moment in time? Certainly not. He has not continuously believed yet. After a day of continuous drinking? Nope. After a year of continuous drinking? No. A decade? No. Five decades? No. If a person ever stopped drinking prior to death, he would not fulfill the requirement of continuous drinking. So, if what Wallace is saying is true, a person is not born again unless he continues in faith until death. This leads to tough questions. How can you have assurance before death that you are born again if a lifetime of continuous faith is required? What happens if a believer were to go through a time of doubt? Since he is not drinking then, is he unregenerate in Wallace’s understanding? What about someone who has a mental condition that causes him to stop drinking, like paranoid schizophrenia, OCD, or Alzheimer’s? Does God give people with mental illness a pass on the continuous drinking requirement? At the very moment of faith (drinking) a person is born again once and for all. That is the message of John 3:16; 5:24; 6:35; 11:25-27. At the moment of faith a person “has passed from death into life” (John 5:24). Paul said, “By grace you have been saved through faith” (Eph 2:8). A done deal. Paul didn’t say that you will be saved if you continue to believe. It doesn’t take a lifetime of faith before the new birth occurs.
@@gregorylatta8159 You , I , or any other mere human - have no way of knowing whether we'll persevere until death in faith or faithfulness . That's clearly not the issue that Wilkin clarifies in the posted article/video above . It's His faithfulness that is relevant . Not ours . What??? First, no one needs to "believe" it. It is what the Holy Bible teaches. There are so many scriptures that point this out. Maybe it is the translations of Bibles, I don't know, or it's what people want to believe so they can continue living the way they want. But one thing I do understand, we are warned over and over about falling away in the Bible. A few scriptures - Rev 3:5 He that overcomes shall be clothed in white array, and I will not put out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his Angels. 2Pe 2:20 For if they, after they have escaped from the filthiness of the world, through the acknowledging of the Lord, and of the Savior Jesus Christ, are yet tangled again therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them then the beginning. 2Pe 2:21 For it had been better for them, not to have acknowledged the way of righteousness, then after they have acknowledged it, to turn from the holy commandment given unto them. 2Pe 2:22 But it is come unto them, according to the true Proverb, The dog is returned to his own vomit: and, the sow that was washed to the wallowing in the myre. Mt 24:10: At that time many will fall away and will betray and hate one another (Jesus speaking here, it would be in red except can't get red here). "Fall away" I don't like taking scripture out this way, but limited here. I can easily list another 30+ scriptures on falling away, without typing them out, just listing where to go read them. I pray everyone that listens to you, researches. Food for thought, consider Satan. He fell away! He is going to hell
EXPLAIN THESE. IT SAYS TO STOP WALKING IN "ALL" SIN ... Do not touch what is unclean, And I will receive you.” 18 “I will be a Father to you, And you shall be My sons and daughters, Says the Lord Almighty.” 7:1 Therefore, having these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God. DOES EZEKIEL TURNS FROM ALL HIS SINS OR JUST SOME SINS? Ezekiel 18:21 “But if a wicked man turns from all his sins which he has committed, keeps all My statutes, and does what is lawful and right, he shall surely live; he shall not die.
@Alvin Fen CONFESS YOU SIN 1 John 1:7-9 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin. If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
As in Adam all die, even so in Christ all shall be made alive. But each one in his own order, Christ the firstfruits afterwards those who are Christ at his coming....and as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgement....marvel not at this for the hour is coming in which all who are in the graves will hear his voice and come forth, those who have done good to the resurrection of life, and those who have done evil to the resurrection of condemnation....the son of man will send out his angels and they will gather out of his kingdom all things that offend and those who practice lawlessness and will cast them into the furnace of fire there will be wailing and gnashing of teeth. Then the righteous will shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their father. He who has ears to hear let him hear....now the spirit expressly says that in latter times some will depart from the faith...if we endure, we shall also reign with him. If we deny him he will also deny us....
The Lord does tell you in the last days some will fall away from the faith. The Bible tells you this fact that some will fall away. They will denounce the Lord Jesus. The Bible does tell you in John chapter 6 that many of His disciples turned back from the Lord after hearing that strong message and followed Him no more. Trust the Word of the Lord as He has said many will fall away from the faith.
Judas was a disciple but he was never saved. Jesus Himself tells us in John 6: 64 & 65 that Judas was never a believer. THAT is falling away. But, a believer HAS eternal life. Peter was a believer and that's why he wasn't UNsaved....Jesus prayed for Him because Jesus intercedes for those who believe (trust) in Him. The very ministry of Jesus at this present time is to intercede on behalf of His own. Why would Jesus give a gift of eternal life to someone that could lose it? Don't you think He knows exactly what they will do after they are saved? Do you think God would take back a gift He gave? If He did, it wasn't a gift. Why is it so hard to believe that God's grace is sufficient? If it wasn't, Jesus died for no reason! It is a blatant rejection of God's grace and salvation to think that one can lose it or give it back. If OSAS isn't true, nothing is true.
So we're saved by works not grace? So what's the barometer? How good is good enough? There is none good but God, the only good in me is God in me. I guess you don't need His imputed righteousness, you have your own. Well, I know sinless perfection is required to enter into Heaven, that's the barometer. I know I'm saved by grace (unmerited, unearned favor) through simple childlike faith... just like Abraham who's faith was counted as righteousness. Jesus' resurrection justified me (proclaimed me SINLESS). Who can proclaim me a sinner, my sins were paid for 2,000 years ago. I can't go to Hell for sins in the future that were already paid for. I believe ON (rely on/trust) Jesus ALONE... sadly, friend, you don't. Repent - change your mind! "Let us not lay on AGAIN repentance from (trusting in) dead WORKS & (instead placing our) faith in God." All of us hate our sin & try not to do it but to love others because we love Jesus, just like He commanded us as how he wants us to live. But discipleship MUST BE RIGHLTY DIVIDED from salvation! Please, pray on it & ask the good Lord to open your eyes to the gospel of grace. ❤️ Salvation is for he who worketh NOT but BELIEVE ON (trust alone) the One whom He has sent! That's how we do the will of the Father - in John 6:38-40 KJV.
@@GeniusJewels Every sinner in Hell is a person whom Jesus died for, yet still they are damned, because they spurned the grace that blots out sin. Christ paid for the sins of the reprobate, yet still they pay the penalty themselves. Unless you repent, you will perish as they did.

DEFINE WHAT IT MEANS TO "FALL AWAY FROM THE LIVING GOD" OR "DEPART FROM THE FAITH". The bible is clear on it. THE CONTEXT IS NOT REWARDS. 1 Timothy 4:1-2 Now the Spirit expressly says that in later times some will depart from the faith by devoting themselves to deceitful spirits and teachings of demons, 2 through the insincerity of liars whose consciences are seared, Hebrews 3:12-14 Take care, brothers, lest there be in any of you an evil, unbelieving heart, leading you to fall away from the living God. 13 But exhort one another every day, as long as it is called “today,” that none of you may be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin. 14 For we have come to share in Christ, if indeed we hold our original confidence firm to the end.
I am getting tired of this OSAS false theology. At the point of being born again, you are told, and you can know, that end-of-life salvation has been set aside for you and you for it. By accepting Jesus, you have entered in through the 'narrow gate' (He is the only way to the Father), and now you have the 'narrow path' before you - final salvation awaits you at the end of that path. The Holy Spirit is given to you at that same time to help you stay on that path (and praise God He is) - and that path is all of Jesus' teachings. If you believe that you are completely and fully saved from that one prayer and that your obedience after the fact, doesn't matter - think again!. Consider this verse in Romans 8:12/13: "Therefore brethren, we have become debtors - not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh. For if you live according to the flesh, you will die, but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live." First off, Paul is talking to the 'brethren' - fellow believers, and just like so many parables and direct passages throughout all 4 Gospels, our eternal life is conditional upon our obedience/cooperation with the Spirit's guidance and the keeping of Jesus' words - I don't see how it could be made clearer than in that Romans' verse. Also, these are not 'fake' Christians that Paul is warning, so don't let yourself believe that. Do fake Christians have access to the Spirit to put the deeds of their flesh to death, and why would the Holy Spirit through Paul say such a thing to fakes? Show me how I'm reading this wrong. How can our salvation be 'locked in' if such a condition is connected with living or dying (this cannot be referring to our physical lives - it would be a non sequitur to believe so)? Living is a reference to eternal living, and dying is a reference to hell. How can OSAS stand against this? What a hellish thing to suggest that the minimal verses that 'seem' to support OSAS against the numerous verses that clearly make our final salvation conditional (a 10 - 1 ratio), is the way to read all associated verses and not the other way around (where would such logic ever apply?). How can you have studied the scriptures and make statements like you have? James 2:24, "You see then that a man is justified (Greek - made righteous before God) by works, and not by faith only". Faith + works is the clear and consistent path to salvation. These are not works before confession - no amount or quality of works can replace, or subsitute, the work of the cross and resurrection of Christ. These are all 'works' after the fact of confession of Christ and are literally a life and death matter. Don't be deceived by false teaches - such as represented in this video.
there's so much wrong with all your theology I dont even know where to start !! there's 2 messages of good news in the bible!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! one is for Israel converts to Christ called the gospel of the circumcision, and one is to the body of christ where NOW there is neither Jew or gentile, revealed to Paul after acts 9 called the gospel of grace or the gospel of the uncircumcision!! everything before acts9 is the gospel of the circumcision, not to or for us today in the body of christ ! pay special attention to romans16:25-26 pauls gospel was kept secret since the begining of the world , ill ask was peters gospel kept secret or was it prophesied!??? next pay close attention to Galatians 2:7-9!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Matthew10:5-6 These twelve Jesus sent forth, and commanded them, saying, Go not into the way of the Gentiles, and into any city of the Samaritans enter ye not: 6But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel. Matthew 15:24 But he answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel. Romans15:8 Now I say that Jesus Christ was a minister of the circumcision for the truth of God, to confirm the promises made unto the fathers: James1:1 James, a servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ, to the twelve tribes which are scattered abroad, greeting. the body of Christ mystery message given to paul only rom 16 :25-26 Now to him that is of power to stablish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began, But now is made manifest, and by the scriptures of the prophets, according to the commandment of the everlasting God, made known to all nations Galatians1:11-12 But I certify you, brethren, that the gospel which was preached of me is not after man. For I neither received it of man, neither was I taught it, but by the revelation of Jesus Christ. Galatians 1:17 Neither went I up to Jerusalem to them which were apostles before me; but I went into Arabia, and returned again unto Damascus. Then after three years I went up to Jerusalem to see Peter, and abode with him fifteen days. so from the time of the ascension of Christ in early acts, up until 3 years after Sauls conversion in acts 9 , in this time what message was peter James and the others preaching if the mystery message hadn't been revealed to them yet,???? Answer= Galatians 2 :7-9 But contrariwise, when they saw that the gospel of the uncircumcision was committed unto me, as the gospel of the circumcision was unto Peter; (For he that wrought effectually in Peter to the apostleship of the circumcision, the same was mighty in me toward the Gentiles:) And when James, Cephas, and John, who seemed to be pillars, perceived the grace that was given unto me, they gave to me and Barnabas the right hands of fellowship; that we should go unto the heathen, and they unto the circumcision.
Titus3:5 He saved us, not by the righteous deeds we had done, but according to His mercy, through the washing of new birth and renewal by the Holy Spirit. Ephesians 2:8-9 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast. acts 13:39 And by him all that believe are justified from all things, from which ye could not be justified by the law of Moses. Philippians 3:9 and be found in Him, not having my own righteousness, which is from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness which is from God by faith. Romans1:17 For the gospel reveals the righteousness of God that comes by faith from start to finish, just as it is written: “ The righteous will live by faith.” Romans 4:5 But to him who does not work but believes on Him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is accounted for righteousness, Romans 4:6 And David speaks likewise of the blessedness of the man to whom God credits righteousness apart from works: Romans 5:1 Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ: Romans 5:9 Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him… Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Romans8:1 Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus Romans 8:39 nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. John3:15-17 that everyone who believes in Him may have eternal life. For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that everyone who believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him.… John6:47 Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me has everlasting life. colossians1:20 and through Him to reconcile to Himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through the blood of His cross. psalm103:10 He has not dealt with us according to our sins or repaid us according to our iniquities. psalm 103:12 As far as the east is from the west, So far has He removed our transgressions from us. 2 corrin 5:19 For God was in Christ, reconciling the world to himself, no longer counting people’s sins against them. And he gave us this wonderful message of reconciliation.
@@wolfwatchers, brother, I appreciate your efforts to try 'educating' me from the scriptures. It takes caring and time to put together a response such as yours (I would have responded sooner but I don't get notifications by way of general email. I only happened to come upon this video again and scrolled to see comments). I too used to believe that once a person was born-again that nothing more was needed and that apart from the 'unforgiveable sin', one could not lose their salvation. During that time in my life/walk with God, I also considered myself to be moderately educated concerning the Bible. However, about a year or so ago, I was challenged to defend the accepted view of not honoring the 'Saturday Sabbath', being that it was one of the 10. I decided instead to research the scriptures to see more generally if there was anything that we, as bonified Christians, could do that might put our inheritance in jeopardy. And thus began a very deep dive into the 4 Gospels with a focus on every passage and parable that referenced 'salvation'. I soon learned just how much I didn't know and also how much the gospel's message of 'conditional security' is the real truth and that 'unconditional security/OSAS' is a lie (and lies don't come from God). After this focused study, it occurred to me (I had not read nor heard at that time from anyone else concerning this) that just as the word 'Trinity' is not directly written in scripture but that one cannot read the scriptures without coming to that obvious conclusion, that salvation as well is not described as just a one-time event/occurrence - there is also a 'Trinity/3 phase' description that our salvation is based upon. It is written all throughout the gospels and is reinforced in many of the epistles: 1] 'Being Born-Again' - accepting everything about Jesus just as Paul lays out in Romans 10:9/10. No amount or quality of 'works' can ever be a substitute for what the cross is all about. All of our sins up to that confession are forgiven - Jesus in the Lamb of sacrifice. We are made righteous before God (justified) and are sealed with the Holy Spirit to sanctify us as we then walk with God till the day of our redemption. (I am stating this only that you may know that at this point we would have no disagreement between us, and that in this I am stating nothing new). 2] 'Ongoing works' - no Christian would say that 'in the new man' our lives would be the same as when we were in the world. There is both a natural expectation of a changed heart (Spiritual) as well as a scriptural expectation to keep/obey the commandments of Jesus. However, where many have begun to see, those 'works' after that conversion, matter just as much as faith does because the scriptures plainly say that the failure to 'keep', to 'obey', to 'endure', to 'produce fruit', to 'love others', to 'meet needs' whenever you can, and even to be 'partakers in heinous sin' - will disinherit the believer from what was set aside for them at the point of being born-again. 3] "Final salvation' - the end of life here, and having completed the race, having kept the faith and not fallen away - we receive the redemption of our souls. This overwhelming collective of salvation being connected to ongoing works, forms a template by which all other related scripture is to be interpreted. There are scriptures that seem to say 'faith alone', and there are scriptures (many, many more) that seem to say 'not by faith alone' and that 'works' governed by our freewill but intended to be a cooperative effort between us, the word, and the Spirit, are the deciding factor - we can choose to obey, or we can choose not to obey, but doing so carries with it the very real possibility of losing our inheritance. In some instances this is permanent (apostasy being an example), and in other instances, it can be as James 5:19/20 lays it out - the lost brother can be restored. The very fact that there are scriptures that speak to our 'doing' the works of Christ and/or the works the Spirit asks of us, and that 'life or death', 'heaven or hell' sits in the balance, completely refutes the 'unconditional security/OSAS' lie. How can Paul write Romans 8:12/13 - "Therefore, brethren, we are debtors - not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh. For if you live according to the flesh you will die; but if by the Spirit, you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live", if salvation was unconditional and irrevocable? He does not mention faith even though faith cannot be excluded. His focus is - 'live by the Spirit or die by the flesh' and is completely conditional upon what you choose to do. All of the calls to 'believe upon Christ to be saved', intrinsically carry with them the commitment to be doers and not just hearers of Jesus' words. The sheep and the goats were separated by what they did or didn't do with their walk of faith, and to say that what we do after that one-time prayer doesn't matter to our final salvation, is a lie from the pit of hell meant to deceive believers out of their inheritance. Also, I don't appreciate you twisting Romans 8:1 - "There is now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus" and leaving off the rest of the message of the following verses, 8:4 "...to those who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit". (The KJV/NKJV both include that full message in 8:1 as well). It makes all the difference in the world to not tell the full message of Romans 8. One is a lie, and the other is the truth. You did not represent the truth. The truth is - "There is now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit". Do you not see the 'condition'? Do you not see how our freewill plays a part in our walk and whether we keep or lose our inheritance? The whole message of Romans 8 is - 'Christians, if you indulged your flesh and do not repent (change to not doing so by cooperating with the Spirit), you will die no matter if you said that prayer of faith. Your 'free ticket' will be cancelled, and you will not get another chance. Wake up! The deceiver has been against the church of Christ since the beginning, and he is masterful at his job. What you do after that confession of faith matters a great deal, even to the point where your inheritance could become shipwrecked.

@@DW-yl9ww beyond believing, that is still service/discipleship, doing the works is service, and it’s not mandatory for salvation because Scripture doesn’t say anywhere that you’re saved by these greater works. Romans 4:4-8 Now to him that worketh is the reward not reckoned of grace, but of debt. But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness. We do good works because we’re already saved, and not to maintain or prove salvation.
How can you lose what you never had in the first place, being saved is a process that's taking place, it hasn't happened until you actually receive it, what you receive is by faith=believing, belief in what? belief that Jesus existed? can you imagine Jesus saying this to people looking at Him, believe in ME and you will be saved, they would say, what do you mean? I SEE YOU, I KNOW you exist!, saying believe IN me doesn't mean believe He exists, if you were drowning and I tell you to catch the rope I'm throwing to you and I will save you, if you believe me or in me, you will be saved, if you don't do as I say, you will drown, belief in Jesus is doing what He says, obeying His commandments, 1 John 2:4, he that says they know Him but don't obey His commandments is a LIAR, He commanded ALL to repent and obey the LAW the way HE understood it, not Moses, the whole reason He came was to defeat sin and stop men from committing sin, SIN is breaking God's LAW, if you don't understand it then do the summary of it or the ROYAL LAW, love thy neighbor as thyself, a rich man came to Jesus asking Him what He must do to be saved, Jesus told him to keep the commandments, the man replied, which one's, Jesus began telling him, do not murder, commit adultery, etc, the man say's, all these things I have keep from my youth, what is it that I lack?, CAN YOU NOT SEE IT? the man was just told he would inherit eternal life by keeping the commandments, what did he see that he didn't have? what did he see that Jesus had and his followers? that's what he lacked but NOT for inheriting eternal life, the man lacked the JOY and peace and love Jesus and His followers had, that's what he wanted, Jesus knew his problem, the man believed following the law would give him or should give him that joy and peace, the man's problem was his love for THINGS, money, possessions, he couldn't give it up because he believed his money and things is what made him happy, actually it was just the opposite, his LOVE for his things and money is why he didn't have the joy, what he actually had was the WORRY of losing it, his love for what he had kept him from having joy, his concern over losing what he had was his problem, Jesus didn't tell him he wouldn't go to heaven, He told him IF he wanted to be perfect, go and sell all he had and give to the poor and come follow me, the point in this is, Jesus isn't asking us to sell all we have and come follow Him, that's impossible, He's gone to prepare a place for us, what He is saying is don't LOVE the things in this world, you can have anything as long as you don't give it your heart, if you give it your heart, it's going to cause you to suffer, think about losing your phone, it's JUST a phone, you can get another one but so many get so stressed over losing it, it actually causes them to suffer, it's the same with anything you love TOO MUCH, the joy you get from something new WILL get OLD, learn to be content and if God blesses you with more, just be content, don't let the love of what you have rob you of the joy of just having it, it's only temporary, lose your phone? get another one, also don't let the love of things cause you to steal it, had to throw that one in, lol
"Do You Believe in Santa? Jesus?" by Mike Lii November-December 2023 faithalone.org/grace-in-focus-articles/do-you-believe-in-santa-jesus/ During this time of year, children are often asked, “Do you believe in Santa?” It is interesting to note that when it comes to answering this question, people have nowhere near the level of confusion or over-analysis that they have about answering the question: “Do you believe in Jesus?” Most interpret the question, “Do you believe in Santa?” to mean, “Do you believe Santa exists?” or, “Do you believe Santa will bring gifts to children who have been good?” Most are simply satisfied that a child’s answer of “Yes” or “No” accurately reflects what the child believes about Santa. There are no follow-up questions, such as: “Do you really believe in Santa?” “Is this a heart-faith in Santa versus a head-faith or mere intellectual-assent to Santa?” “Have you decided for Santa?” “Have you surrendered your life to Santa?” “Have you given your life to Santa?” It is unfortunate that patently nonsensical questions about a children’s fantasy are thought to reveal theological insight when applied to the question, “Do you believe in Jesus?” The nature of the faith or belief in Santa is the same as the nature of the faith or belief in Jesus. In both instances, the faith or belief is a conviction that some proposition or promise is true. The key difference isn’t in the nature of the faith or belief, but in the person in whom one has faith or belief. One person is pure fiction and fantasy; the other Person is a true historical figure who proved His promises and the truth of His guarantees by dying on the cross and rising from the grave. Everyone understands that the question, “Do you believe in Santa?” must be a shortened form of a question involving a proposition about Santa. The expression, “I believe in Santa,” makes no sense devoid of something about Santa that is believed. The expression “believe in Santa” must be an abbreviated version of some larger proposition that is believed about Santa, such as his existence or his promise to bring presents to good children. Similarly, one cannot believe in Jesus absent a specific proposition to believe about Jesus. A question that clearly addresses this is: “According to the Gospel of John, what is the proposition to be believed concerning Jesus?” The Apostle John uses the verb believe almost 100 times in his Gospel. The most common use (thirty-one times) explicitly references believing in Jesus for eternal life or the concept of everlasting life-a life that can never be lost; a life with Jesus in a wonderful place forever.1 For example, John 3:16 explicitly references eternal life: “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” Although the term everlasting life is not used in John 14:1-2, the concept of everlasting life is present in the passage: “Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.” Less than ten occurrences of believe in John’s Gospel explicitly refer to something other than believing in Jesus for eternal life.2 For example, the nobleman in John 4:50 believed Jesus’ word that his son would recover from his sickness: Jesus said to him, “Go your way; your son lives.” So the man believed the word that Jesus spoke to him, and he went his way. Another example is the Jews in John 9:18, who did not believe that Jesus healed a man born blind: But the Jews did not believe concerning him, that he had been blind and received his sight, until they called the parents of him who had received his sight. Sixty-four uses of the term believe in the Gospel of John are not explicit about the content of the belief. These occurrences are most commonly expressed as “believe in Him,”3 “believe in His name,”4 “believe in Me,”5 and “believe Me.”6 It is important to ask, “In these occurrences, what is the content or proposition that is being believed?” Among those who diminish the stated purpose of John’s Gospel-evangelism-these statements about believing in Jesus are frequently taken out of context in order to advance the position that eternal life is the result of believing some truth about Jesus that is not specifically related to eternal life. According to this view, eternal life is not part of the content or focus of belief. However, each use of the word believe in John’s Gospel, whether specifically related to eternal life or not, must be understood not only in its immediate context but also within the context of the entire Gospel, especially regarding John’s stated purpose. If the proposed content does not fit both the immediate context and the overall purpose of the Gospel of John, then such proposed content must be rejected. The purpose of John’s Gospel is stated in 20:30-31: And truly Jesus did many other signs in the presence of His disciples, which are not written in this book; but these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in His Name. The purpose of John’s book is that the reader or listener “may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God.” What does “Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God” mean? We are given its meaning in John 11:25-27. Jesus says to Martha: “I am the Resurrection and the Life. He who believes in Me, even if he dies, will live. And everyone who lives and believes in Me will never die. Do you believe this?” Notice that Jesus tells Martha that He is the Resurrection and the Life, that every believer in Him will live even if he dies, and that every believer who lives will never die spiritually.7 In other words, Jesus tells Martha that He guarantees and gives eternal life to everyone who believes in Him for eternal life. Jesus then asks Martha, “Do you believe this?” He is asking, “Do you believe what I just stated?” Notice Martha’s response in John 11:27: “Yes, Lord, I believe that You are the Christ, the Son of God, who is to come into the world.” Martha responds affirmatively to Jesus’ question and instead of repeating what Jesus has just stated, Martha responds that Jesus is “the Christ, the Son of God.” Martha has just equated the title “the Christ, the Son of God” with Jesus’ statement about eternal life. Martha’s response can, therefore, be understood to mean: “Yes, Lord, I believe that You (the Christ, the Son of God) guarantee and give eternal life to everyone who believes in You for eternal life.” Since the purpose of the Gospel of John is to direct the reader to believe that Jesus is “the Christ, the Son of God,” this is the same as directing the reader to believe that Jesus is the One who gives eternal life to everyone who believes in Him for eternal life. Whenever John uses the word believe without specifying the content of such belief, it makes no sense to pick something from the immediate context as the content to be believed and then state that eternal life results from believing that content. For example, one may argue that “His disciples believed in Him” in John 2:11 refers to their belief that Jesus changed water into wine and that anyone who believes Jesus changed water into wine receives eternal life as a byproduct, whether they know it or not. But the only interpretation of 2:11’s “His disciples believed in Him,” which is consistent with John 3:16 and John 20:30-31, is that because they had just seen Jesus change water into wine, His disciples believed that He gives eternal life to everyone who believes in Him. In the same way, when John’s Gospel does not specifically state the content of belief, we can understand the expressions “believe in Him,” “believe in His name,” “believe in Me,” and “believe Me,” as shorthand for believing that “Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God,” the One who gives eternal life to every believer in Him. The nature and quality of believing in Santa and believing in Jesus are similar. Both terms reflect a belief in some proposition regarding the object of belief. In both instances, belief is understood as a persuasion or conviction that some proposition is true. It makes no sense to believe in Santa or to believe in Jesus without specifying the content of what is believed. However, the difference between believing in Santa versus believing in Jesus is vast-not because of a difference in the level of belief, but because of the difference between the objects of belief. Believing in Santa for gifts at Christmas is futile because Santa is fictitious and therefore powerless. On the other hand, believing in Jesus for eternal life is believing in the One who created the heavens and the earth, who willingly sacrificed Himself on the cross for every single human being, and who triumphantly rose from the grave. Faith in Jesus for eternal life never fails because we have Jesus’ own word on it. Jesus has promised: “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me has everlasting life” (John 6:47).
@@GESvids the end of your reply answers your own question, he that believes in Jesus IS the one that keeps His commandments, everyone's fear of losing their salvation only has to do with SIN, sin is the problem and their understanding of what sin is and the judgement they believe concerning the sin, for MOST people they will not commit a sin worthy of death or separation from God, but because they think all sin is the same and carries the same judgement punishable by hell fire if they commit it lack a understanding of the different degrees of sin and it's judgement, that alone has people walking on pins and needles, fearing if God is going to send them to hell for lying, that's just one example, there are many more, too many to write if I tried to write them all, I just know God is not going to send NO ONE to hell for sins we all commit, that's the short answer, however a sin that's worthy of death or separation from God, I can certainly say, murder and adultery and a few others but not many will certainly merit death or separation from God, sin is still sin regardless of how you view it but not ALL sins will separate a man from God, which sins will? that's what we will all be judged for, sin is breaking God's Law, breaking God's law has different judgement depending on the severity of the sin, sin is apparent, iniquity isn't, someone telling you that you will go to hell IF you commit this or that sin when God hasn't said that is working iniquity, you've heard it and if you believed it and you do it, then in your belief your going to hell if you don't stop doing it, it can become very complicated when dealing with sin since sin is so many different things in the bible, even doubt is sin, the problem with this word when used in the bible just as the same problem this word "law" when used, leaves too much to the imagination, what sin? what law? who's law? Jesus law? God's law? Moses law? poorly translated ancient Greek and Hebrew texts are the cause of it just as many other words that are poorly translated in the Greek and Hebrew texts, God's Law IS Jesus Law, the commandments He said to keep IS His commandments, they are NOT HARD unless you make them hard, sin is still sin but not ALL sins will merit eternal punishment, if you don't understand that, you will certainly go through life living in FEAR of the unknown, the fear of losing your salvation has to do with SIN which is why so many cling to this belief that just believing in Jesus is enough which is contrary to what they read if they read the whole bible, why? because they ALL sin, that's the truth, we ALL sin, no one is perfect in this respect however we do not ALL sin sins that merit eternal punishment, Most people don't however there is a sin that does merit eternal punishment, telling a lie is a sin but my goodness, everyone lies, are you going to send everyone to hell? especially for sins that you commit, calm down, get a grip, don't be so hard on yourself, the harder you make it on yourself is making it harder for others, at the same time you can't go around and say it's okay to murder, rape, commit adultery among a few others but not many, you have a fault or a weakness? these things have also been labeled as sin, as a matter of fact, any wrong doing is labeled as sin, you might not understand this but hitting your hand with a hammer is a sin, it's a sin against you, there's too many different views of sin and what it is, if you think any or all of them will cost you your salvation, your going to have fear, the fear of losing it, to some, even thinking of sinning is sin, that's far from the truth, for others just seeing something evil is sin, that too is far from the truth, there is nothing the eye's can see that is sin, there is only what the eye's can see that could CAUSE you to sin, if your eye causes you to sin, pluck it out, if your eye causes you to commit adultery, adultery would be the sin, if your hand causes you to murder or rape someone, cut it off, the focal point is on the sin and the cause of it, if you saw the car that ran you over before it did, you would certainly avoid it if you get the point

@Kman. I apologize. I know I write bad, I just read a post where someone said, God doesn't want us to live in fear, that's not entirely true, we should fear the Lord, but only when it comes to sinning, no other reason, if we don't fear sinning, there's nothing to keep us from sinning, the fear of being punished is all that exists to keep us from sinning, judgement goes hand in hand with a belief in God. If you believe in God, you also believe in judgement, it's that judgement that keeps us from sinning, the same goes for Jesus, just belief in Jesus isn't going to spare us from God's judgment, if so then it would be okay to murder someone, no fear of being judged. OSAS is a false doctrine. Like Jesus shut down Moses law on remarriage after divorce. Jesus said if a person remarry after divorce that person shall be called a adulterous. Paul said to believer in Gal 5:19-21 adultery can't enter the kingdom of God. Paul said in 1 Cor. 7:39 only a death of a spouse can one remarry. See, to tell people they can go against Jesus words because he died for that sin , and say it's ok . This is a major error. We must obey Jesus but it was by his grace we can be saved. This doesn't give us liberty to be disobedient to God. We are not perfect but must try to live holy. Just because somebody believes in OSAS or Not doesn't mean they don't follow God. I count you as a brother in Christ. Lets keep spreading the Good News of Jesus.

This man is a false teacher. Do not believe that once saved, always saved nonsense. There is no scripture backing this up. Remember even the fallen angels believe Jesus is King, and they will all be thrown into hell. It is only your relationship with Jesus that will save you. Believing in him is not enough. You must truly love him.
Its not the eternal gift of life, its the gift of eternal life. You can only receive that gift by choosing to FOLLOW Christ, so no, you are not eternally saved just by believing, sorry. Don't get it twisted. Belief in Jesus allows you to be cleansed of your sins, as long as you ask for forgiveness and turn from your sin. It does not give you a free ticket to sin for the rest of your life. Is there a biblical reference that you can find that says that once God writes your name in the book of life, he cant blot it out? Because I can find many that support that He, in fact, will.
@@jarodwilkerson9902 “It’s not the eternal gift of life, it’s the gift of eternal life.” It certainly is the gift of ETERNAL Life. What is a gift to you? Do you require your friends, family, child to “follow you” which can only mean obey you/do what you tell them to do. So your definition of a gift is to earn something from you by doing works for you? Is that how you give gifts? Is that what your parents required every birthday and Christmas? Did they tell you..”follow me, obey me, do not disobey me or else you cannot have or get to keep your birthday gifts!!” Sir.. You don’t know the meaning of a gift if you believe it requires works to receive it and works to keep it. A gift…IS ABSOLUTELY FREE to the receiver. Because it was FULLY PAID by the giver. Did Jesus not fully pay the price required to be able to offer us the free gift of eternal life? Please really think about that last question? It’s the free gift of ETERNAL Life. It is not the free gift of “follow me, turn from sin, make me your Lord, confess me-life..or you can’t have it or can’t keep it-life” No.. Jesus is holding in his hands the fully paid for free gift of ETERNAL life. And there’s only one thing required for you to receive it from Him… Believe in Him for it! John 11:25-26 “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he SHALL LIFE. 26 And whoever lives and believes in Me shall NEVER DIE. Do you believe this?” Do you BELIEVE that?? Now…what do you think BELIEVE means?? Please go look up the definition because I promise you believe does not mean “follow, obey, repent of sin, confess, make Him Lord.” Really just read the book of John. Because I know only Jesus can convince you of the truth. My words are actually useless so please just read the book of John.
@@SuperCanonshooter MATTHEW 7:21-23 Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. That verse should hit home for you. So again, no, you don't have a free ticket to sin just because you say you believe, I'm sorry if you think that's how it works, and its foolish mental gymnastics to think that it is. You MUST repent. Someone with a proper relationship with Christ can see that clearly. You have to know Christ. Meaning you need a father-son relationship with HIM. Also don't twist scripture meanings to win arguments....If you "believe" in the word of Christ but still continue down your life of sin without repent, then you never truly believed enough to actually walk the path of a Christian, did you? believe does not mean “follow, obey, repent of sin, confess, make Him Lord.” No it doesn't. Those are the actions you take for having TRUE belief. a love of the truth. Like I said earlier, even the fallen angels believe and know that Jesus is King, but that will not save them. You still really haven't shown me any scripture that supports "once saved always saved" mentality, but here's a few more verses that support otherwise. I suggest you find these verses in your Bible and read the whole story associated with it. Matthew 16:24-26 Then Jesus told his disciples, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will find it. Luke 13:3 Verse Concepts I tell you, no, but unless you repent, you will all likewise perish. Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is DEATH, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 2:5 But because of your stubbornness and unrepentant heart you are storing up wrath for yourself in the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God Revelation 2:5 Therefore remember from where you have fallen, and repent and do the deeds you did at first; or else I am coming to you and will remove your lampstand out of its place-unless you repent. Revelation 3:3 So remember what you have received and heard; and keep it, and repent. Therefore if you do not wake up, I will come like a thief, and you will not know at what hour I will come to you. Matthew 3:8 Therefore bear fruit in keeping with repentance; Isaiah 30:15 For thus the Lord God, the Holy One of Israel, has said, “In repentance and rest you will be saved, In quietness and trust is your strength.” But you were not willing, Luke 5:31-32 And Jesus answered and said to them, “It is not those who are well who need a physician, but those who are sick. I have not come to call the righteous but sinners to repentance.” then finally heres a verse from the book of John. 1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Thats the arminian understanding of salvation

1 John 3:7-
7Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous.

@jessetchemendy4201 Amen, Jude 1:1 we are preserved in Jesus Christ, and Hebrews says we are forever sanctified, called saints and set apart.

Romans 4:16 forever clarifies the sole condition :
..."therefore it is by faith that it might be according to grace , that the Promise would be certain "...
Faith accords with unmerited favor . It also accords with doubtless assurance .
Certainty of Everlasting Life is therefore the biblical definition of faith .
Fearing loss of an un-lose-able gift is as logically incoherent as it is exegetically impossible .
No works for salvation.
Obedience if we are a new person in Jesus.
For Jesus to grant forgiveness of sins without a change of conduct makes the grace of God an accomplice to evil !

In Matthew 7:21 what is the "will" of My Father who is in heaven?
Poieo is also in the active voice, which means that when Jesus said, “he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven will enter”
He was saying that the individual must be performing the action.
The character of true Christians is that they sin less and less as they mature in their faith.
love you bob. I Thank God for your ministry everyday.

Brother Bob, can you direct me to scripture that proves what you said about losing reward and not reigning with him. I need to see that in scripture or what scripture you use to prove that point. There will be a great falling away (2Ths2:3) during tribulation so am I to understand these folks will still be saved? Also when Jesus says, "he that believeth in me shall never perish".....doesn't that also by interpolation mean he that stops believing in me shall perish? Also, in the story of the Prodigal Son, my understanding is that the son, the believer, to his inheritance (his eternal relationship with his father) and left to go back into the world, but repented and returned to his father. The father said that the son in the previous condition was dead, but now is alive again. I need help with that also. Thank you.

what about blot name from book of life?
A person's name was already in the Lamb's book of Life since the foundation of the world.. ( revelation 13:8 & revelation 17:8) God fore knew before the creation of world man's fall and who would accept his salvation and those who would not.
That is why you never find a verse that ever specifically tells you that your name is added only when you get saved.. there's no verses that allude to that. People who make that proclamation that your name is added to the Lamb's book of Life the moment you get saved don't realize that that's actually a heresy, that is totally foreign to Jewish thought.
And 1st John 3:9 says this: "Whoever has been born of God does not sin, for His seed remains in him; and he cannot sin, because he has been born of God." So there is an aspect of our being, the born-again spirit, that CANNOT sin. The soul (mind, emotions, will) is gradually renewed (Romans 12:2), but the body, the Flesh, remains sinful until the Day of Resurrection (Romans 7:18). So if there is an aspect of our being that CANNOT sin, everlasting life can never be forfeited. Abiding in him (as in John 15) has to do with discipleship and reigning with Christ in the world to come, not "maintaining" everlasting life.
HE WILL FINISH THE WORK IN YOU "UNLESS" YOU CHOOSE FOR HIM NOT TO ... FREE WILL NOT FORCED SALVATION.
You can't be un-born. A butterfly cannot go back to being a caterpillar. 🐛🦋 We are entirely new creations IN Him. He is the Holy Spirit & Jesus said He will NEVER leave us or forsake us - therefore His Holy Spirit also will NEVER leave us, our bodies, become un-born, un-created. Jesus PROMISED He will NEVER cast us out & we shall NEVER perish (go to Hell). These are clear verses. You have to look at the unclear verses in light of the clear verses, then you will see that discipleship IS NOT salvation but is the CHOICE for SAVED SOULS to become out of LOVE for the Lord, we glorify the Father by becoming disciples & producing much fruit & it makes us joyful in abundance! But discipleship is NOT salvation! Salvation is a permenant free gift & work of God. He who has begun a good work in you WILL COMPLETE IT - WILL COMPLETE IT, & WILL RAISE YOU UP at the last day! WILL not might! We ARE PERFECTED FOREVER in Christ, SEALED in the Holy Spirit unto the Day of Redemption = that's all of our earthly lives!

If a person believes they can lose their salvation, would not that necessarily mean they believe in a works-based salvation and are not saved to begin with?
Not at all. The Bible itself contains many warning about falling away.
I would say it applies to unbelievers. Am I wrong?
@Alvin Fen Very good dispensational interpretation. I would tend to concur.
@Alvin Fen It is written, "Work out your salvation with fear and trembling."
@Alvin Fen I believe in Jesus, but I dare not presume my salvation. No, Eve believed the lie that she would not die if she sinned, and thus brought sin into the world. Get behind me, Satan!
@Alvin Fen
Too many today focus only on God's grace to the point of erroneously thinking that avoiding sin is in itself is works. Jesus died for our sins but to believe that means I can live how I want shows that person doesn't fear God.
Because the Bible says so, and the New Testament is replete with warnings to persevere and not make a shipwreck of our faith.
@Alvin Fen Do you eat Christ's Flesh and drink His Blood?
Hebrews 12:14
Make every effort to live in peace with everyone and TO BE HOLY WITHOUT HOLINESS NO ONE WILL SEE THE LORD.
@2Chronicles714_ yes, but you were given that holiness at salvation " born again"... The new nature is in love is the motivator.. not your carnal efforts scripture says the carnal mind is not subjected to God or the things of God and neither indeed can be..
I am struggling with Romans, one and the reprobate mind.
Can I inquire us to What specifically are you stuck with between Romans and the reprobate mind? And with that I hope you understand that a reprobate mind is one who rejects Jesus and salvation.they are opposed - minded.. which is what probate in essence means.
2 Timothy 2:12-13 - 12 If we suffer, we shall also REIGN WITH HIM: if we deny him, he also will deny us:
13 If we believe not, YET HE ABIDETH FAITHFUL: he cannot deny himself.
This is what 1 Corinthians 3:10-15 is talking about:
10 By the grace God has given me, I laid a foundation as a wise builder, and someone else is building on it.
What about the parable of the ten virgins?
2 Timothy 2:12-13 - 12 If we suffer, we shall also REIGN WITH HIM: if we deny him, he also will deny us:
13 If we believe not, yet HE ABIDETH FAITHFUL: he cannot deny himself.
@@wtom04 The five foolish virgins were ready for a certain period of time. What if the Lord comes when they were ready?
@@dshng...5554 If they are ready when the Lord comes, then they will be entitled to rule and reign with Him, but if not, they won't reign. However, they are still saved - 1 Corinthians 3:14-15.

DEFINE FALLING AWAY AS DESCRIBED IN HEBREWS 3:12-14
The thing with judgment, it's a slippery slope. We are judge and judged, and we wrestle with angels just as Jacob did (See Statue of Liberty for example - casts a shadow of doubt). Our first mistake is staring into a vanity mirror (black mirror) like the Queen in Snow White and seeing different responses - why people need to avoid overuse of computers and the mixed messages it will deliver. I was given Saint Clare and the mirror of eternity - this is the mirror of the abyss. Hold faith by staring into the light, not the darkness. Pride is the worst sin, so it is best not to sway others in such a manner - we are not the judge: God is our judge.
have no idea what your trying to say.

And read this verse from AFTER the resurrection:
Mark 16:14 KJV Afterward he appeared unto the eleven as they sat at meat, and upbraided them with their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they believed not them which had seen him after he was risen.
Mark 16:14.

In John 3:16
John doesn't say believed he says believeth.
Some mistakingly think
John's gospel was written for evangelism because it says in John 20:31
But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that "believing" ye might have life through his name.
The misunderstanding is because in John's gospel the word believe is always in the present continuous tense, which doesn't mean just believe once, it means go on believing.
Everywhere in John's gospel the emphasis is going on believing.
For God so loved the world that He gave his only begotten Son that whosoever goes on believing- present continuous tense-
Whoever is believing.
👉So John wrote his gospel for believers to encourage them go on believing in
Jesus as the son of God.
Believing that Jesus is the son of God, going on believing that you may go on having life.
It's wrong if you stop believing and walk away from your faith to think, I said I believed [past tense] that you will still have everlasting life.

Smart Christian channel addresses this by pointing out that the original Greek says those who believe will in fact go on believing
Not true .
Wilkin addresses this succinctly :
We sometimes are led to believe that the Greek present tense means that continuous action is taking place.
Present Indicative
The present indicative often does not refer to continuous action or even to action taking place in the present.
Present Articular Participles
Present articular participles often do not refer to continuous action.
(Continued from Wilkin) :
Proof One
John 4:13 proves that continuous drinking is not in view.
Proof Two
John 4:15 proves that John 4:14 does not refer to continuous drinking.
A Final Point
One final point deserves mention. Let’s say that ho pinōn means, as Wallace suggests, “everyone who continuously drinks” (p. 621), and thus it takes continuous believing to be born again so that one will never thirst (v 14). When would a person fulfill that requirement? At a
moment in time?
@@soljos1190 Really should not require that many words to explain. Either way I will continue to believe.

Simple answer. They don’t know how to read their bible or they just don’t read it in general

Colossians 3 5-10 Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry. 6 Because of these, the wrath of God is coming.[b] 7 You used to walk in these ways, in the life you once lived. 8 But now you must also rid yourselves of all such things as these: anger, rage, malice, slander, and filthy language from your lips. 9 Do not lie to each other, since you have taken off your old self with its practices 10 and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge in the image of its Creator.
DID JAMES SAY TO PUT AWAY ALL FILTHINESS OR JUST SOME? James 1:21 Therefore put away all filthiness and rampant wickedness and receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls.
Romans 6:11-14 Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body so that you obey its evil desires. 13 Do not offer any part of yourself to sin as an instrument of wickedness, but rather offer yourselves to God as those who have been brought from death to life; and offer every part of yourself to him as an instrument of righteousness. 14 For sin shall no longer be your master, because you are not under the law, but under grace.
DOES THIS SAY ALL FILTHINESS OR JUST SOME? 2 Corinthians 6:17-18 7:1 Therefore “Come out from among them And be separate, says the Lord.
The problem is not salvation which is eternal based on the work of Christ. The problem is faith, true Faith
"Let us not lay on AGAIN repentance from (trusting in) dead WORKS & (instead placing our) faith in God."
All of us hate our sin & try not to do it but to love others because we love Jesus, just like He commanded us as how he wants us to live.

1 Timothy 4:1-2 Now the Spirit expressly says that in later times some will depart from the faith by devoting themselves to deceitful spirits and teachings of demons, 2 through the insincerity of liars whose consciences are seared,
Hebrews 3:12-14 Take care, brothers, lest there be in any of you an evil, unbelieving heart, leading you to fall away from the living God.
For if you live according to the flesh, you will die, but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live."
First off, Paul is talking to the 'brethren' - fellow believers, and just like so many parables and direct passages throughout all 4 Gospels, our eternal life is conditional upon our obedience/cooperation with the Spirit's guidance and the keeping of Jesus' words - I don't see how it could be made clearer than in that Romans' verse.

Galatians 1:17
Neither went I up to Jerusalem to them which were apostles before me; but I went into Arabia, and returned again unto Damascus.
Answer=
Galatians 2 :7-9
But contrariwise, when they saw that the gospel of the uncircumcision was committed unto me, as the gospel of the circumcision was unto Peter; (For he that wrought effectually in Peter to the apostleship of the circumcision, the same was mighty in me toward the Gentiles:) And when James, Cephas, and John, who seemed to be pillars, perceived the grace that was given unto me, they gave to me and Barnabas the right hands of fellowship; that we should go unto the heathen, and they unto the circumcision.

It is written all throughout the gospels and is reinforced in many of the epistles:
1] 'Being Born-Again' - accepting everything about Jesus just as Paul lays out in Romans 10:9/10.
@@chrisbrown8498 the issue is this, most of Matthew, mark Luke and john are not to or for the body of christ but to and for Israel, so if you go to the so called gospels you wont find our salvation , our salvation was revealed to and through Paul after his conversion in acts 9 if you mix the 2 separate messages you get all mixed up in doctrine,

Jesus?"
by Mike Lii
November-December 2023
faithalone.org/grace-in-focus-articles/do-you-believe-in-santa-jesus/
During this time of year, children are often asked, “Do you believe in Santa?” It is interesting to note that when it comes to answering this question, people have nowhere near the level of confusion or over-analysis that they have about answering the question: “Do you believe in Jesus?”
Most interpret the question, “Do you believe in Santa?” to mean, “Do you believe Santa exists?” or, “Do you believe Santa will bring gifts to children who have been good?” Most are simply satisfied that a child’s answer of “Yes” or “No” accurately reflects what the child believes about Santa. There are no follow-up questions, such as:
“Do you really believe in Santa?”
“Is this a heart-faith in Santa versus a head-faith or mere intellectual-assent to Santa?”
“Have you decided for Santa?”
“Have you surrendered your life to Santa?”
“Have you given your life to Santa?”
It is unfortunate that patently nonsensical questions about a children’s fantasy are thought to reveal theological insight when applied to the question, “Do you believe in Jesus?” The nature of the faith or belief in Santa is the same as the nature of the faith or belief in Jesus.
A question that clearly addresses this is: “According to the Gospel of John, what is the proposition to be believed concerning Jesus?”
The Apostle John uses the verb believe almost 100 times in his Gospel. The most common use (thirty-one times) explicitly references believing in Jesus for eternal life or the concept of everlasting life-a life that can never be lost; a life with Jesus in a wonderful place forever.1 For example, John 3:16 explicitly references eternal life:
“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”
Although the term everlasting life is not used in John 14:1-2, the concept of everlasting life is present in the passage:
“Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.”
Less than ten occurrences of believe in John’s Gospel explicitly refer to something other than believing in Jesus for eternal life.2 For example, the nobleman in John 4:50 believed Jesus’ word that his son would recover from his sickness:
Jesus said to him, “Go your way; your son lives.” So the man believed the word that Jesus spoke to him, and he went his way.
Another example is the Jews in John 9:18, who did not believe that Jesus healed a man born blind:
But the Jews did not believe concerning him, that he had been blind and received his sight, until they called the parents of him who had received his sight.
Sixty-four uses of the term believe in the Gospel of John are not explicit about the content of the belief. These occurrences are most commonly expressed as “believe in Him,”3 “believe in His name,”4 “believe in Me,”5 and “believe Me.”6 It is important to ask, “In these occurrences, what is the content or proposition that is being believed?”
Among those who diminish the stated purpose of John’s Gospel-evangelism-these statements about believing in Jesus are frequently taken out of context in order to advance the position that eternal life is the result of believing some truth about Jesus that is not specifically related to eternal life.
The purpose of John’s Gospel is stated in 20:30-31:
And truly Jesus did many other signs in the presence of His disciples, which are not written in this book; but these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in His Name.
The purpose of John’s book is that the reader or listener “may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God.” What does “Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God” mean? We are given its meaning in John 11:25-27. Jesus says to Martha:
“I am the Resurrection and the Life. He who believes in Me, even if he dies, will live. And everyone who lives and believes in Me will never die. Do you believe this?”
Notice that Jesus tells Martha that He is the Resurrection and the Life, that every believer in Him will live even if he dies, and that every believer who lives will never die spiritually.7 In other words, Jesus tells Martha that He guarantees and gives eternal life to everyone who believes in Him for eternal life. Jesus then asks Martha, “Do you believe this?” He is asking, “Do you believe what I just stated?”
Notice Martha’s response in John 11:27:
“Yes, Lord, I believe that You are the Christ, the Son of God, who is to come into the world.”
Martha responds affirmatively to Jesus’ question and instead of repeating what Jesus has just stated, Martha responds that Jesus is “the Christ, the Son of God.” Martha has just equated the title “the Christ, the Son of God” with Jesus’ statement about eternal life. Martha’s response can, therefore, be understood to mean:
“Yes, Lord, I believe that You (the Christ, the Son of God) guarantee and give eternal life to everyone who believes in You for eternal life.”
Since the purpose of the Gospel of John is to direct the reader to believe that Jesus is “the Christ, the Son of God,” this is the same as directing the reader to believe that Jesus is the One who gives eternal life to everyone who believes in Him for eternal life.
Jesus has promised:
“Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me has everlasting life” (John 6:47).

Does that make sense?

@@wolfwatchers Ok, that is a lot of verses. There is over 70 verses in the new testament warning not to lose our faith in Christ. I believe if we live for Christ we have eternal life. In Malachi 3:6 The Lord change not In 2 Chronicles 15:2 The Lord is with you, while ye be with him; and if ye seek him, he will be found of you: but if ye forsake him, he will forsake you. Jesus said the same thing in John 15 about abide in him. Paul said the same thing in Gal. 5 telling saints not to fall back to the sin of the flesh or you want inherit the kingdom of God. God will give eternal life for those who live for Christ. Thanks
@@matthewbrown9027 you can't make a claim of 70 verses and show 2 !! next issue is, most of the vrses you can show are either about discipleship or service not salvation, or have words like should walk in them...etc the lord doesn't change but how he deals with people at different times does!!! gal 5 is not saying don't fall back and if you do your not saved hes contrasting what they were before they got saved such was some of you is the quote,
how long have you known the lord??? its time to get off the milk and eat the bread!!
@@wolfwatchers Milk is for people who think they can live in the flesh and still be a saved. Sound like you believe someone can live in adultery, like remarriage after divorce and still go to heaven. Even though Jesus said adultery can't enter the kingdom of God. How much plainer can you get. People just can't deny Christ teaching and said he didn't mean it that way. One verse should been enough about loosing your faith. I am not fusing but the bible reads that way.
@@matthewbrown9027 everything in the bible is for us but not directly to us today , For instance we dont stone to death adulteress today but they were instructed to in the bible , do the women of today follow the unclean period rules in Leviticus its in the bible right, if your logic is if it says it in the bible we have to do it or adhere to it, than there's a billion things you don't, wont and cant , this is where 2 tim 2:15 comes in right division clears up everything !!! most of christs teachings when he was here on the earth before atonement know as his earthly ministry was to and for israel only his sacrafice was for the whole world but his ministry his teachings were for israel only!!
Matthew10:5-6
These twelve Jesus sent forth, and commanded them, saying, Go not into the way of the Gentiles, and into any city of the Samaritans enter ye not: 6But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.

Now I say that Jesus Christ was a minister of the circumcision for the truth of God, to confirm the promises made unto the fathers:
James1:1
James, a servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ, to the twelve tribes which are scattered abroad, greeting.
so yes his teachings are in the scriptures and there plain but they are not for us in the body of Christ , anything before acts 9 is for Israel only especially pertaining to salvation!!
Then the gift of God has the wrong name.. literally called ETERNAL Life.
It last….ETERNALLY
Its not the eternal gift of life, its the gift of eternal life. You can only receive that gift by choosing to FOLLOW Christ, so no, you are not eternally saved just by believing, sorry. Don't get it twisted. Belief in Jesus allows you to be cleansed of your sins, as long as you ask for forgiveness and turn from your sin. It does not give you a free ticket to sin for the rest of your life.
Is there a biblical reference that you can find that says that once God writes your name in the book of life, he cant blot it out? Because I can find many that support that He, in fact, will.
@@jarodwilkerson9902 “It’s not the eternal gift of life, it’s the gift of eternal life.”
It certainly is the gift of ETERNAL Life.
What is a gift to you?
Do you require your friends, family, child to “follow you” which can only mean obey you/do what you tell them to do.
So your definition of a gift is to earn something from you by doing works for you? Is that how you give gifts?
Is that what your parents required every birthday and Christmas?
Did they tell you..”follow me, obey me, do not disobey me or else you cannot have or get to keep your birthday gifts!!”
Sir..
It is not the free gift of “follow me, turn from sin, make me your Lord, confess me-life..or you can’t have it or can’t keep it-life”
No.. Jesus is holding in his hands the fully paid for free gift of ETERNAL life.
And there’s only one thing required for you to receive it from Him…
Believe in Him for it!
John 11:25-26 “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he SHALL LIFE. 26 And whoever lives and believes in Me shall NEVER DIE. Do you believe this?”
Do you BELIEVE that??
Now…what do you think BELIEVE means??
Please go look up the definition because I promise you believe does not mean “follow, obey, repent of sin, confess, make Him Lord.”
Really just read the book of John. Because I know only Jesus can convince you of the truth. My words are actually useless so please just read the book of John.

MATTHEW 7:21-23
Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’ And then will I declare to them, I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.
keyword being "knew".
Also don't twist scripture meanings to win arguments....If you "believe" in the word of Christ but still continue down your life of sin without repent, then you never truly believed enough to actually walk the path of a Christian, did you?
believe does not mean “follow, obey, repent of sin, confess, make Him Lord.”
No it doesn't.
Matthew 16:24-26
