My first car was an all original 1965 Comet Cyclone. Got it in 1987 and it looked 5 years old. It was black on black. Bucket seats, rally pack gauges on the dash. We built the motor to a 351 and had tons of fun. I miss that car so damn much. It was a top loader four speed. I came with a three on the tree.

I’m building a ‘65 Comet myself. Not going to be a drag car, just a cool hot rod. 460BB, toploader, 9 inch, caged and mini tubed. Tigger was my daughter’s favorite when she was little. Cool car!

I had a 1966 Mercury Cyclone GT, black with red interior, it had a 390 V8, and the factory 4 speed, it was 1969 I was 21 years old. I loved that car, nothing like running the gears on cool night in Philly.

Love the Comets! I've been the proud owner of a 66 Caliente for the last 24 years. This channel just keeps getting better.

❤😢😊 Evan my neighbor has a 65 comment like that banana Gasser, his his baby blue and everywhere he goes he get a thumbs up a writing it to go to the Dragstrip and it turns 12 1/4 in that stock

  • @fernandochaves9665

No dragstrip feels complete without a 428 running, and some old Mercury steel. Great car and interview. One must admire the simplicity and coolness of gassers, today things are perhaps overly "tech". I'd like to see more and more Ford powered gassers, please..
Loved also his Fairlane and the yellow T-Bird he raced at the end... Yes, painted graphics are amazing and feels special, an art by itself.

You keep finding these really cool cars!
Seeing that jacked up front end brought back memories of the first drag race I attended.
My dad was big into racing and had a 57 chevy with small block that he bought new (brought me home from the hospital) He took me to many races, including Speedway (anyone remember those bikes sliding around the track.. no brakes, throwing mud all up in the stands?)
Must have been 68 or 69 when he took me to a drag race (we lived in California at the time) and I saw a ton of that type of car. Plus, the Rat Fink drawings were everywhere when I was growing up.
What a beauty. That paint looks like the same paint on my Raptor. Molten Orange.
    Thank you sir!

Ive had two of these 65 comets. One back in 91 with a 289 HO , three in the tree. One in 22 with the inline six , three in the tree. Sold them both for $5, 500each even thirty years apart from one another. Not a get rich car but a great driving car.......

    I love this car! In the 70's a friend had a '66 Cyclone 390 GTA. After a few years,he had a stroker kit built for it. A 427 block,it became a 486. Sidewinder intake,large Holley,built C6 & a 3.25 posi. That thing flew on the top end!

Think that's the final Falcon-based Comet, and the '66 was Fairlane-based.

Seeing the quick picture of this guy's Farelane he needs to get some pictures of the front suspension and steering linkage!!! Until he gets the suspension to where it is close to straight and wheels straight up and down and straight ahead under power he is loosing time to resistance of the front wheels!!!
