Its so good to see people being able to be out open water fishing in feb. Where im from every single body of water freezes and i have to wait till spring :( I love these videos cuz they keep me hyped!
This footage is from September, pretty much everything is frozen here right now. I did find an open stretch of river with my kayak today though and caught a couple big pike!

I love watching you catch big Pike and muskies... Few years ago I was in Sioux Lookout Canada and had an 80-acre lake all to myself for two weeks the biggest pike I caught was 36 lb 36 in what an awesome time in my life

I really enjoy your videos. I fish out of a Hobie and could not handle paddling and casting simultaneously. I was taking a 3 pounder off a while back and he jerked his head a buried the hook in my thumb. I would recommend you getting a clamp and use pliers to take those fish off the hook. Getting that hook out of my thumb while the fish was still hooked is something I never want to experience again.

Great video, Matt. I love fishing those foggy mornings. I also check the solunar calendar for best times to fish. Some guys think it is BS but I have found that when I fish both best and worst times according to the moon cycles, I do get the best fishing generally with full and new moon cycles. It depends on my target species. I can tell you that when fishing inshore in the Gulf of Mexico when I lived in Florida, the best fishing days according to the moon calendar coupled with high tides produced the best catch.

As a new fisherman who hasn't caught many bass, I like how when you release the Largemouths they turn and leave gracefully. Lol. Yet when done to the smallies, they give you a nice goodbye splash. Haha.

Nice, I have had some good luck with the same lure here in Wisconsin on the Milwaukee river, though I think it was the smaller version.
Id go out and not catch anything knowing me, but it looks like you just cast and reel it in. No finesse involved. Love the whiiiize of the casting reel!
