It hasn't snowed like this in awhile. We just got ice haha. 10 years ago I remember going to Walmart and seeing 7 foot tall mounds of snow. Been awhile
Great video! I LOVE our New England winters, and have always prided myself in shoveling and snowblowing (20-year old Craftsman 9 hp) to perfection. But now I’m pushing 70, been an empty nester for many years, have very bad spine and hip issues (I’ve lost 4” of my height), and countless other medical issues that don’t permit me to downhill ski, hike, ascend stairs, or lift much anymore. I’m also a woman. Your video made me realize the snowcaster is exactly what I want for light snow accumulations on my bluestone patio (where I don’t want a metal edge) and double-wide 44’ long asphalt driveway, better than a shovel and when my big machine isn’t necessary.
When I started my lawn and snow business that is all we used. Shovels I shoved faster than any snowblower for years. Miss being young, love my power tools. Lol

An excellent demonstration of the Snowcaster showing the conditions it was meant for. I own one and am in Canada and on many occasions it is the perfect tool for the job. No one shovel or snowblower is the ideal tool for every snow fall. For an inch to maybe three inches of light snow it is great on a paved driveway when a snowblower is overkill. I would definitely buy this again.
@@GravityDAD Once it freezes it works, but not really well. Definitely more for hard/smooth surfaces. @akaCamo, I couldn't agree more, no one tool will work in all situations, but this one works wonders for what it is meant for.
Agreed! I own a large and small snow shovel, an electric corded 16" shovel, and a two-stage gas snow blower. The right tool for the job makes for an easy job.
I have had one for 3 years now. Best investment I made (about $100) for small storms in PA. When the snow is higher I use a regular shovel to push and then use this one for clean up of the entire area. I have about 800 sq ft of sidewalks and then also clean up a side street so that they don't plow it up on my walks. This mini plow can be a bit clunky at times. The blade itself is super strong. It wears on the bottom edge but not too fast and if you plow in both directions it ends up wearing evenly. I am considering building a wood or metal frame for the back to replace the plastic one it comes with. I could push a lot more of the wet heavy stuff like from early Feb if I felt more confident I wasn't going to snap the frame. It does best on level surfaces and I have cleared 1-2" over stone alley way kinda of skimming it along. It's not to heavy soit doesn't push down and bite into the loose surface. I cannot easily plow my old and buckled front sidewalk with it. If I added a rope attached to the two front edges it might be easier to lift the blade and reposition.
I was doing this with a normal shovel I got a lil lazy and put the handle on my tummy flexed and walked down the side walk I didn’t know there was an uneven seem but I found out
Legends has it that he was so impressed by the shovel that he shovelled all the driveways in his neighbourhood, all the of the town, all of the state and has never stopped to this day.
Logan Utah here. I have a 42" man plow similar to what you got. I love it. I hate getting ice on the driveway so I try to keep it cleared off as quick as I can. If I run the blower I will still use the man plow after to get the leftovers cleared. Yes I have OCD about things around the house. lol
Great! I don't have anything that will work for a big snowstorm except to call the guys with serious snowblowers, but for everything else, this looks perfect.
I don't understand the comments about trying to use it with heavy thick snow. This shovel is awesome and I can 100% see the need for one. This has a use and it's for lighter snow. Awesome video.
This is the best video I have seen that shows how it is intended for use. I plan on buying one for 2” or less and anything more than that I will use the snow blower
Bought this for my small back deck in the Eastern Sierra. ruclips.net/user/postUgkxoHYZbq5g9fkcAtinlTqstNlje-UQkCHN We get A LOT of HEAVY snow so I was a bit skeptical but it was worth it! After the first storm of the year this has exceeded expectations! It throws snow very well, even 10-12” + that said the more it piles up the harder it is to maneuver the machine. It is exceptionally light weight and overall exactly what I was looking for. If you have a large amount of snow and a lot of area to clear, you may consider something with a drive engine to help maneuverability, but for decks, second stories, roofs etc, you can’t beat the light weight to great snow throwing ratio. Side note, the chute rotator is a bit flimsy and it initially didn’t seem to work, after a few uses it seems to have loosened up.
I used those for about 8 yrs or more when i did snow removal and i loved them.they sucked in wet heavy snow though.only time we broke them was if something was thrown on the plastic blade or ran them over but besides that they took a beating and they are well worth what you pay for them.another thing that works great on fluffy snow is a backpack blower
@@spholleratme9098 I'm a kid though and I work really hard but the way he flips it's just seems hard on it because nowadays everything is plastic and break instantly
With this shovel more than 4 inches gets heavy to push. So getting out a few times works great. But it is much faster than a blower even getting out a few times.
aAnyone have their CC turned on? If not, watch it again with captions on... Apparently, this shovel applauds for you while you shovel! Gotta love a product that motivates you with positive feedback as you labor in your driveway.

Hey, do you think it is safer to use the Snowcaster than a regular shovel? You know how people get heart attacks from shovelling? I wonder if this is safer to use?
@@SuperFrise If someone is at such a high risk of heart attack that using this or a regular shovel is the difference between living and dying, they have a far greater problem to worry about than clearing snow. The problem is that for some people it is by far the most strenuous activity they ever do; they only do it because it is required.
Does really well with one to two inches of dry snow. I wonder how it would do with 5 inches of snow, then an inch of ice on top, then another two inches of snow on top of that. That is what I dealt with recently. All I had was a regular snow shovel. I have a drive through garage. Concrete in the front, concrete in the back, and then the concrete loops around from the back to the front. Around 2700 square feet for driveway. It was back breaking because that snow was heavy. It doesn't look like it would work well on deep snow, but I assume if you were using it as it was snowing and not letting the snow get too deep, it would be good to have. I may look into getting one. Thanks for the video.
I live in Alberta, Canada in the city with a paved driveway. The first snowfall of the season is sometimes wet and heavy, but normally we get light fluffy snowfalls that are less than 6" deep. I think that this would be useful for most of the winter and would be great for clearing the driveway and sidewalk. Not too heavy or expensive, easy to store, doesn't use gas and is easy on the back. Nice!
My father is in his 70s and is still the first one up to clean up the snow for the mail man. I think he would love that there is no gas, batteries, nor cords to mess with. It's always ready for work, like he is. Going to have to get him one.

LOL. I watched part of it too. And I'm in Austin TX. We don't even get that white stuff down here! It was 80 degrees today, and it's almost December 2020.
Never saw one in Alberta. Wish they had these for sale here. The wheels make a huge difference. Yes, one-size-fits-all is not a solution. So have right tool for the right job. This Snow Caster is one of many tools in a good toolbox of snow removal strategy.
What? Why would this be so much better? Basically, same difference. Have to push the shovel, regardless? Sooner than later, one of the castor wheels is either going to fly off or bend, the manner he tosses the thing around. To me, only looks good for powdery snow? Wouldn't envision any drastic benefit once dealing with it heavy, and wet?
I just used my Snowcaster for the first time. Victory. I bought it largely because of this video, so thanks. It was only about 3" deep but very wet and heavy, so I couldn't go very far without dumping the load off to the side. My one question in your demo: after cutting that path down the middle, why not just do one side at a time? It looked cool watching you flip the shovel every pass, but you'd skip that by just doing one side from the middle, then going back to do the other side. I'm not trying to be critical, just trying to figure out how to use this shovel the most efficiently. I'm on a corner alley location and am limited as to wear I can put the snow.
So the way we do it, going back and forth is continuing to move snow each time. Instead of walking back and starting half the driveway each time. The way we do it is cutting out the walking but not pushing snow. The way we do it is always pushing something.
@@ThRoWBaCkTeXaS Do you slam it on the ground too or do you take care of your stuff? I cut a 1 yard wide PCV pipe (300mm) into 3 strips and connected a floor squeegie handle to it. It's too heavy for the amount of snow I get here, so a 250mm would be even better.
observation: I get it now it is your design. It seems good for some folks for sure. Good for you sir. By the way that grass leaf logo looks like my design from 20 years ago. It was in Signs of the Times monthly magazine. Many shops copy/ use it on landscape trailers. Imagine it 12' long. It was very easy on the eye and awesome in person.
@@nightowls7324 it does but ploy flexes unlike regular plastic. So it won't break it or gut punch you like a regular shovel. I've never used it on stones. But bricks I have. Worked just fine.
I have a similar process but to be even more efficient on a lighter snowfall, I push the snow towards the edge of the driveway rather than walk it. After that, I walk along the edges and scoop and throw the snow away from the driveway instead of piling it along the edge as much.
It looks really easy on a perfect cement job. We have tire marks because some people have to go to work before I have time to do all that so it gets lumpy. I don’t think it would work that good
I agree... excellent for smooth surfaces... My concrete looks like a squad of Abrams tanks ran over it in the dead of winter... The best I can do is salt it like a pretzel 🥨 and hope for spring 🤣

Might be good for 3 inches of Snow not for 3 to 12 inches or more, And a cement level driveway. Here in New England our landscape is hilly that includes driveways and most are tared not smooth cement. And we can get some heavy snowfall here on the East coast.
Improper Bostonian Ha! 3-12 inches, you must be kidding! I’m in northern Canada. We get 3-12 feet In some blizzard conditions, 8 feet comes in 24 hours. This shovel is amazing. The wheels are the key to its success. Trick is to NOT let the snow accumulate much past the height of your blade. Get on heavy snowfalls every hour. No need to dress overly warm either, you’ll only be out there a few minutes. I recommend this style of shovel to all my friend. All my neighbours laughed at first. Now they all own one. Even the four that own huge snow blowers.
My mother is now telling me with strong urgency that I must shovel the snow on Monday because I am big and strong. I've worked for decades on her perception of me being big and strong and developed educational curricula for her about the way muscles affect the way other people in the society treat them. I've worked for decades to educate her about sanitation and hygiene in the home, too.
I have a gravel 300 foot country driveway and i either use the snow blower or if it is only two inches I shovel it with an ergonomic shovel that has a curved handle and it is much easier on the back. I have never seen one like yours, I must admit it does a great job on your smooth drive..pretty fast as well.
observation: So it snows again in a week where do you place the next snow? Or at the end of a drive. Seems good though for a sidewalk and then a plow can take over. Also only seems good for 1" of dry snow. 2" of wet and you call a mormon?
Looks like fun until you hit that uneven seam in your cement and the handle jabs you in the stomach.

For the amount of snow that was on the ground, it gets the job done. You should make another video with the same shovel with 3ft of snow.
why stop at 3ft try it in 7ft 😂
obv not made for that
Haha nice. I have a few of these and I agree that they can clear a residential driveway to the bone faster then equipment.
Not sure why I watch the whole thing. But I did...(quarantine things) I guess. Also, not sure how this ended up in my feed, but now I realize I need more videos like this. Also, I usually don’t comment this long but here we are. Anyways, have a beautiful day and stay safe.
LOL. I watched part of it too. And I'm in Austin TX. We don't even get that white stuff down here! It was 80 degrees today, and it's almost December 2020.
Shaun Tarry, you must have really been bored to withstand watching a video that is a whole two and a half minutes long.
Never saw one in Alberta. Wish they had these for sale here. The wheels make a huge difference. Yes, one-size-fits-all is not a solution. So have right tool for the right job. This Snow Caster is one of many tools in a good toolbox of snow removal strategy.
Great technique! I have one does great when cold snow, however wet heavy snow no so good
What?
Chunky out there violently flinging and slamming that contraption and marching back and forth 😂😂😂
Out of breath after 3 minutes, 1.5 inches. Why bother?
Thanks for the extremely satisfying video. Beautiful home and sweet beard.
Don't know how I ended up here in my rabbit hole of recommended videos. I need one of these for work. Looks easy to use.
hey my friend I liked that I live in Wisconsin how can I get it
That is SO awesome! Your video was incredibly helpful! Thank you! I seriously want to go buy one myself.
I like that!! We have shovels and a snowblower, but this looks fun -- and it's what I end up doing with a shovel anyway. Brilliant!! 👍👏🙂
I love shovellin that white fluffy snow, where I live the snow is often wet and heavy,,, makes for a lot of heavy pushin, and throwin.
thanks for the real world demo!
You could send me a picture i can help you do it the most efficient way. cvlawnking@gmail.com
good shovel but he treats that thing like how i treat my grades
It's the best way to flip the angle to the other side. Source: I do the same with mine
This guy is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too aggressive with that plastic
Well its poly so way tougher and it handles very good no matter what. I had that same blade on that shovel for 3 yrs doing 75 driveways a night.
@@cvlawnking2161 Does it ever get stuck on brick or stone seams or uneven walkways?
@@nightowls7324 it does but ploy flexes unlike regular plastic. So it won't break it or gut punch you like a regular shovel. I've never used it on stones. But bricks I have. Worked just fine.
@@cvlawnking2161 ok, thanks.
Shows how durable it is.
I have a similar process but to be even more efficient on a lighter snowfall, I push the snow towards the edge of the driveway rather than walk it. After that, I walk along the edges and scoop and throw the snow away from the driveway instead of piling it along the edge as much.
He picks that up and moves it like a kid with a walking toy when his parents tell him ‘no, this way, c’mon’ 😂😂
New subscriber here. Great video, keep it up. Love supporting other channels.
Best shortest and to the point video my man!!!
This is cool, but I can't imagine shoveling after 2" snow fall.
Yeah when it’s this light you could just use a broom
@@maeu59 and it would take you quite a bit longer...
@@derekl3495 not for 2” of snow, I do it all the time
That is a nice shovel...I enjoy getting the steps in when the snow is a couple inches ...instead of plowing...Tho it does take me an hour for a 300' drive.
Yes, that is a great design. Love the wheels and the long handle.
Watching and enjoying. Best wishes for you.
Thanks for watching!

Come to Kitchener Ontario if you want snow...10 inches yesterday ..that amount of snow??...that is considered a good brooming...
Literally no one asked.
Great work bro 😁💪 EZ on the back & gets the HR going !!!
I’ll bet he celebrated clearing the driveway with a nice cool IPA.
International phonetic alphabet?
You watched that video too, huh?
waited for the wheel to snap off. Works good on light snow, over six inches it's a tough push..great for clean up though...loving the adirondacks of New York..
“This is a pretty common sized driveway”
Literally has a driveway the size of a basketball court
thats actually a smaller driveway
Woah then I must have a pretty small driveway
@@cosmicvcosmic right, mine is 3-4 x that size. ....but he does live in Logan, so that nice & close to Snowbasin. ⛷🏂
Extremely small driveway
@@mccabe8818 No, that is a super wide driveway, agreed.
Wow. After getting 25 inches I need this more than ever. Thank you:)
Gonna have the whole Neighborhood asking you to shovel there driveways🤣
I love the evenly layered snow on the ground.
That driveway was made for shoveling snow and that shovel made easy work of that amount of snow.
Flawless technique by this guy
It just started snowing here in Maryland and suddenly RUclips suggests snow shovel videos...
Moves pretty quick for a big man.
What took you so long? I would be on my 3rd beer by now.
I've never drank beer, does it buzz you different then hard alc?
@@David-ls4qp this is interesting. where are you from? isbeer just not so common where you are? most people here in north america(canadian here) start off with beer and move to hard alc as they get older. to answer your question, no it does not get you more buzzed than hard alcohol. beer is generally around 5% abv whereas most hard liquor is around 40% abv. the standard conversation rate is something like 1 can of beer(~355mL) is the alcohol equivalent of 1 shot of liquor(~40mL).
OK, the shovel is cool and all but, how satisfying it is, just baffles me
That plow looks like it would save my back from going out.
Until you get several feet of it and you have to lift the shovel to put it on the pile of snow from the last dumping. lol
@@maureenwagg5305 SEVERAL feet? What planet do you live on?
The control on this dude’s hand is amazing
Might be good for 3 inches of Snow not for 3 to 12 inches or more, And a cement level driveway. Here in New England our landscape is hilly that includes driveways and most are tared not smooth cement. And we can get some heavy snowfall here on the East coast.
Improper Bostonian
Ha!
Kevin Heuman why do all Canadians brag about how much snow they get 😂
Kevin Heuman in Boston you have no where to put the snow
@@nonyobussiness3440 That would be East Boston with its narrow streets.
@@cptgaming4986 I find it reasonable to brag about it. They make my Wisconsin snow look pathetic and weak. Which i prefer lol.
love watching someone master their tool.
is that Helsinki from money heist? 😅
Lol that's my favourite Netflix show
Looks wonderful. I havenever seen this in Canada.
This definitely had a sandbox when he was growing up.
Why am I getting snow shoveling recommend? Why am I watching the whole video? lol
I have a gravel 300 foot country driveway and i either use the snow blower or if it is only two inches I shovel it with an ergonomic shovel that has a curved handle and it is much easier on the back. I have never seen one like yours, I must admit it does a great job on your smooth drive..pretty fast as well.
Nice flexing about your long driveway. 🤣🤣
He’s the Ron Popeil of snow shovel salesmen......😂
Great comment... I don't know how many people on here know who he is
observation: So it snows again in a week where do you place the next snow? Or at the end of a drive. Seems good though for a sidewalk and then a plow can take over. Also only seems good for 1" of dry snow. 2" of wet and you call a mormon?
