- The latest revelations that Google's AI chatbot service Gemini is distorted to radical progressivism is a reminder of the political manipulations of Silicon Valley. This is part of long story, one we know well, from the infamous 'Twitter Files' to politically correct Chat GPT.
But what's really going on behind the scenes? And can anything be done about it?
Dave Rubin is one of the original political RUclipsrs, who has gone on to build the Locals social media platform as well as be a part of the Rumble alternative video platform. He was a 'Twitter Files' journalist, invited by Elon Musk to investigate censorship at the social media giant Twitter.
I sat with Dave at his studio in Florida for a deep dive. What has he learnt by his peeks behind the curtains? And how is his fight back going? Can Big Tech be overcome?
We also looked at what this all meant for the upcoming 2024 Presidential election and the future of America.

I work for a company who is a partner of Google's. Google sets the condition that DEI principles must be enacted in the workplace if we would like to remain a partner. We have experienced a strong push towards DEI, censorshit and tyranny and away from an accepting, enjoyable, thriving productive workplace.

Google is only following what Black Rock has set, if they want to continue to receive money from them. Black Rock is the one that is pushing all major companies with DEI, they are the money behind it all.

I usually watch Dave on Rumble now. But I have to admit, RUclips took me from Eckhart Tolle and Russell Brand to Dave, Jordan and Ben talking together... eventually I found out about Triggernometry and Winston. So I am not complaining... Thanks, RUclips.
I really hope Rumble UX and UI get's better. It's a dead homepage. You have to know who or what you're looking for, and you can watch it fine. But Rumble doesn't do recommendations well. I'm fine watching all the social/cultural and political content creators over there, but beyond that finding anything else interesting is tougher.

Activist culture always seems to swing too far before coming back. I was an environmentalist activist in the 60s and 70s. We were alarmed at the Cuyahoga river catching fire and the harm that DDT was causing. But today, if they had their way, the majority of humanity would have to be disposed of for the sake of a perfect environment. I can see the lunacy, but sadly too many useful idiots can't and they get used by an unethical elite who have a totally different agenda. Our only hope is to enhance deep critical thinking among the citizenry.

And unfortunately because of egos and emotions, when the pendulum finally does swing back it is taken way to far to the other extreme and extremes are never good and ensure that it will swing back again with even more momentum eventually. Vitamin C is good but if you think taking the entire bottle is even better because it’s a good vitamin… It’s going to become a negative thing for you pretty fast
the public skools are attempting to teach the next generation of factory workers. if you can encourage your friends and families to get their children out of public educatimum that should be a start.

A robust young man who's still in his prime, and yet has somehow managed to stay humble.
Disney had what was, functionally, their own county. The Reedy Creek Improvement District. They paid no property taxes, they didn't contribute to infrastructure expenses in Orange and Osceola counties (which were substantially higher thanks to their presence), and I believe they got a sales tax break (didn't give everything they collected to the state). They also controlled (maybe still control) the local media, bribed the hell out of the Orlando city council and Orange County Commission. In fact one of their first acts, before they even built the place, was replacing the mayor of Orlando. They are and were the Axis of Evil, and I don't even give a crap about the woke stuff.
And NOW they own Fortnite... that's bad news for sure...

For Winston to claim that wokeism, BLM, Antifa, etc. are all reactions to Trump's presidency is like saying that the homeowner trying to rid his yard of a hornet's nest and getting stung in the process is guilty of causing the hornets to harm the people trying to enjoy their backyard. The threat already existed before it was confronted. The one trying to eliminate the threat is not guilty of causing the threat to exist and lash out. The hornets were going to do that regardless of whether anyone confronted them or not.
Sure. But don't forget the decades of passively accepted bigotry (and immense prison state) that were the initial stated cause of those things. Don't get me wrong...the Democrat establishment never gave two shits about correcting any injustice, and just duped the sleepwalking "woke" into giving them power so they could be radically socially intolerant in the name of being socially tolerant...but America's globalist totalitarian evil is a goose-stepping monstrosity that requires both a "Left" and "Right" leg.
Trump was the catalyst that drew them all out into the open, making them reveal themselves for all to see. People began to understand that things were not normal any more, and the battle lines were drawn, hopefully before the wokes were fully ready to push for full victory. Something about Trump just set then off like the angry hornets you describe.

Rubin is misspeaking on a number of topics. Iran is not jailing gay men, it is executing them. Iran has the most transgendered men? How would anyone know? They are executed when they are found. They are not accepted in any country founded in Sharia Law.
It was a reaction to Trump with media and leftist organizing and feeding t all.

Winston’s channel has been a perfection from video one. Crème de la crème of speakers and the most excellent topics. It’s making its way to being one of the most popular and influential channels in politics and social matters.
A few things. Disney didn't specifically have privileges. When Walt Disney purchased land for the Disney World park, it was basically unused and unincorporated, without any municipal infrastructure. Given many of the negative consequences Disney endured with the building of the Anaheim Disneyland Park, he thought it wise to petition the state to give him greater control over the property and the businesses which were built there. This would prevent local, county, and the state government from using their power to control his operations. Disney was a rabid American, yet he understood the weaknesses of the American system, and wanted to hedge against them. He would never have dreamed that a pro-American business which was probably the most patriotic entity of its time would eventually come to represent the opposite of everything Disney believed in.
As for Trump, it may be my imagination, but it appears the rhetoric against him is quieter in 2024 than it was in 2020. It could be that, given the direction the world has taken since Joe Biden took office, people are having second thoughts. It could be that a number of people who screamed against Trump and his policies have cooled down, looked around, and realized that they were better off under him than they are under Biden.
And, regarding what Trump managed to get done in office, that has been greatly underplayed and underreported. For all the noise which was heard during his term, Trump did get a remarkably large amount of policy done. The problem is that a president simply cannot enact more permanent policies and effect change in a single term. And when a candidate is running for president, their plans are formulated assuming an 8 year window. If Trump wins in November 2024 is one thing, but what happens in November of 2028 is just as important.
Does this mean he can run again in 2028? I thought 2 terms was the limit !

I love seeing how well locals has done. I was following both dave and Jordan in 2015 before they were working together and remember when he was partnered with ora tv and Larry and he was asking for donations via superchat, he was doing a fundraiser livestream and I think I was his 2000th member on patreon. I’m proud to see what he’s done for free speech, I just wish I could have gotten in as an investor back then lol. Good job Dave, and good job Winston you’re a good interviewer.

It’s not just a question of source material and something that many people seem to have missed, Gemini was manipulating the response partly because before the response was provided, it was manipulating the question. Adding descriptors to reflect their ideology. I do agree that there will be no solution of a few months. If there is it will only be, as Peterson suggested, because the lies and manipulation have been driven even deeper into the program in such a way as to be even more insidious and dangerous.
