    This is a bit personal but I'll be honest
    I'm a nearly 19 Year Old woman, and really lazy in many things. This includes me taking care of myself. And my hair is no exception. With the added that because of my lack of self confidence, I ended up disliking my hair and myself as a whole.
    This lead to years of my Mom trying to do my hair for me. One of the main hairstyles done on me was braiding-To this day I've NEVER learned how to braid hair. I even gave up easily during times I tried to actual do it. However after constantly getting lectured by both my parents about growing up and how I need to take care of myself just in case anything happens to them, I decided that I'm going to try to change that, one baby step at a time.
    After seeing this video, especially hearing "It's okay if you don't get it right the first time." at one point helped boost my motivation and self confidence a little. Which is one of the reasons why I'm typing all this out.
    To thank you for this tutorial, that bit of advice, and honestly the entire video as to help do the one thing I never got to do by myself in the past, but never too late to do as of now ☺

    This reminds me so much of when me and my 4 sisters used to do each other's hair. I could never get my own to look right - we always needed each other's help.

    You’ve taught me soooo much about my hair, natural hair period!! I’m obsessed w/ your channel because it’s so informative. I recently cut my hair again to get rid of those old ends (Inspired by you cutting off your blonde ends)! I was trying to hold on to length when I should’ve been let it go! I’d prefer natural hair over length any day! Keep the videos coming and I’ll keep supporting 🤗💕💕

      Isn’t it possible to keep those permed ends, when growing the hair out. I’ve been natural for 3 years and I still can’t find the courage to cut all my damaged ends off. I can’t.

    • @cococole7248
      @cococole7248 6 лет назад +3

      J. H you can keep those ends while transitioning! You can cut them once your hair grows out more in the future.

      J. H you can keep it but in order for the curl at the end you may need a small permrod

    I was beginning to get SCARED that Black Women were not braiding their own natural hair. I am 66 years old and braided my hair in what is called micro braids back in 1971. I got called "Buckwheat" by my own peers. They were not called micro braids back then they were called braids. Then an Actress name Bo Derek braided her blonde hair in micro braids and advertised it. If Bo Derek didn't open the weave industry I would be surprised because every Black Women's hair that I saw after her advertisement of long blonde braids had WEAVEED BRAIDS in their hair. This past August I rolled back the hands of time and braided my hair in micro braids and was SHOCKED at the fact that Women with extensions in their hair were stopping me in the grocery store asking how did I do my hair like this. I have approximately 150 braids in my natural hair that I wash, condition, and repair myself every 2 weeks. The nightmare stories that I have read about extensions should be an eye opener to anyone wanting extensions. Your Hair is BEAUTIFUL! Lastly there are VERY few videos on Natural Single Braids on Utube. Very few. Thanks for posting this video.
