Woodtunes, Inc. lol I had to 😂 my mom didn’t know what she was doing and I got tired of going to school with big buns on the top of my head (I had a lot of hair)
Can't relate. My mom tried to teach me when I was way older than that, but I wasn't very good nor was I patient, so I gave up early. A few years later, I had to take care of my hair by myself, so I looked up some youtube videos on how to braid so that's how I know
I taught myself before the age of ten by watching hairdressers, then I proceeded to practice on the heads of my family, especially when they were sleeping, because they would swat me away if they were awake 🤣
This is a bit personal but I'll be honest I'm a nearly 19 Year Old woman, and really lazy in many things. This includes me taking care of myself. And my hair is no exception. With the added that because of my lack of self confidence, I ended up disliking my hair and myself as a whole. This lead to years of my Mom trying to do my hair for me. One of the main hairstyles done on me was braiding-To this day I've NEVER learned how to braid hair. I even gave up easily during times I tried to actual do it. However after constantly getting lectured by both my parents about growing up and how I need to take care of myself just in case anything happens to them, I decided that I'm going to try to change that, one baby step at a time. After seeing this video, especially hearing "It's okay if you don't get it right the first time." at one point helped boost my motivation and self confidence a little. Which is one of the reasons why I'm typing all this out. To thank you for this tutorial, that bit of advice, and honestly the entire video as to help do the one thing I never got to do by myself in the past, but never too late to do as of now ☺
“I’ve been braiding my hair since I was 6 years old” that’s my problem this is why the only thing I can do is gel my hair up into a bun 😩 why did my mom not make me learn
Although I have been braiding my own hair for yeeaaars, the headline caught my attention because I was never truly TAUGHT a proper way to do it as a protective style. Watching your video was insightful, especially when it comes to maintenence. Thanks for posting
I think I'll try this style after I take my braids out. After my hair got heat damaged at the salon in December, im making sure that I really start learning how to do my hair myself. I did braids with added hair myself about a month ago and was really happy with my first try, but I want to do them again but with no added hair. This looks like a simple tutorial so thank you for sharing. 😊
I’m over 60, 69 to be exact & I liked this video. I too started combing & braiding my hair at the age of 9. After 40 years of perming I’m now all natural & I like the natural braids without extensions. My hair is long & thick enough. This video is pretty much how I part & braid my hair & I really enjoyed watching it & seeing that I’ve been doing all the right things with my conditioners & products including leave-ins, moisturizing butter cream & oils. ❤😊
I’ve only been doing my own hair for about a year and only know how to do twists 😅. I’ve been thinking of doing some natural braids, and I think this really helped!
Your hair is my hair. Texture, thickness, curl pattern, length - everything. Will you share which products work best for you? I have a hard time retaining moisture
products mentioned were Creme of Nature Pure Honey Detangler Knot Away Leave-In. $4.79 Camille Rose Oud Rich Infusion Hair Oil. $11.95 As I Am Twisting Butter. $10.37 my boyfriend has this same hair type, i recommend Eden BodyWorks Jojoba Monoi Deep Conditioner. $8.99 Shea Moisture Coconut & Hibiscus Curl & Style Milk. $9.99 As I Am Double Butter Cream. $14.72
I do this style on my daughter’s hair but with two strand twist. It last about 7 weeks. I did wash it about twice within that time. She loved it and I do too.😊
How do you get it to last so long?? My 4yr olds hair looks week old the next day. She is constantly doing somersaults and running her hands through her hair. We've tried different oils and creams but haven't done a butter so maybe that'll be next
This reminds me so much of when me and my 4 sisters used to do each other's hair. I could never get my own to look right - we always needed each other's help.
Very beautiful and neat. For the life of me, I cannot braid the very front portion of my hair. It feels so awkward when I braid to the front instead of the side. I’m glad you showed yourself braiding the front. ❤️
My mother sister and aunt was braiding my hair forever when i was a little girl after church on Sunday’s now I’m an adult I braid my daughter hair when she was little also shes married and grown now and she braid her daughters hair 😊
This style is so cute & I’ll definitely be using as inspiration for my next wash day. However, a video on how you styled them on a daily basis would be cute. Like a bun, ponytail, etc.
You’ve taught me soooo much about my hair, natural hair period!! I’m obsessed w/ your channel because it’s so informative. I recently cut my hair again to get rid of those old ends (Inspired by you cutting off your blonde ends)! I was trying to hold on to length when I should’ve been let it go! I’d prefer natural hair over length any day! Keep the videos coming and I’ll keep supporting 🤗💕💕
Isn’t it possible to keep those permed ends, when growing the hair out. I’ve been natural for 3 years and I still can’t find the courage to cut all my damaged ends off. I can’t.
My favorite style to wear but I still suck at braiding. I will keep practicing. Will you do a braid out of this style or how you style them for the week?
Susie Redish yes I love these styles! I don’t have to worry about doing my hair, even if it’s fluffing it, I can just take my bonnet off and mist the braids with water and I’m good to go! 🙌🏽 Yes, I will be doing an unraveling video. I’m not going to style because my edges are growing back from postpartum and they’re thin, I’m a bit self conscious 🙃
@@jeanettejbeauty6374 I understand how you feel. I experienced it after I had my son 16 yrs ago. Also, thinning edges after having a hysterectomy 8 months ago. Unfortunately, a side affect of anesthesia. However, they are getting thicker which I am happy about. ☺
I feel so slow 🤦did my fiance's hair and didn't put any product to help hold it lol when we do it again in 2 weeks will definitely be taking your advice!!
Imgaine the definition you'll get afterwards!! I used to do these before I cut my hair...now that it's grown back...I think I might do this again..I do it with my little girls hair all the time... it's so easy

I'm a man and for darn sure my sister taught me this technique of parting and plating my own hair 1971-2.. :-)) I did this every day for my Afro.. The only difference was, I only used a regular afro comb and 1 hair grease either afro/ultra sheen, blue magic or a bergamont something.. Morning came, took the plats out and made my afro style.. :-)) All the extra cream and oils I never had and glad I never did.. Too many unnecessary harmful chemicals used today..🥰🥰😀😀❤❤
I’m trying to tell my brain and fingers to braid again...I have not braided for a long time since I always kept my short. Also since it grew have been doing 2 strand twists. This came out beautiful though!
