So is putting your hair in a ponytail or bun considered a protective style??? Im asking because you can also wear a bun for 2, 3, 4 weeks and not touch it. Could've sworn a protective style was a covering. Hence the word protect which means to cover or shield. So again I ask how are plats and twist a protective style??? Your hair is still exposed to all things you mentioned so how is it being protected? Coming from a black woman who has natural hair...thats like saying my locs are a protective style. That is a lie. And guess what, I can wear my locs for years. As a matter of fact I started my locs with two strand twist. Im just trying to figure out how twist are a protective style. Are locs a protective style too??? Since I'm uneducated in this topic maybe you can educate me please.
shannan0520 a protective style is anything that u ain't manipulating your hair so yes a bun in for 2 weeks is a protective style... leaving braids or twists in for a month then redoing them is a long term protective style 🤦
shannan0520 maybe you should of asked questions first instead of coming off like u knew what u was talking about...then wanna act like u was looking for answers when somebody call u out🤪
Don't be! Although, She did an awesome job in this video! It's not necessary to accomplish nice looking twists. I put my hair in twists all the time. Honestly, I just part wherever I part. She's way more methodical about it. However, you don't have to be. It still can come out nicely. I wear my hair and twists because it's consistent and convenient, plus retains a lot of growth. I'm too active and don't want to spend 50/11 hours on my hair day-to-day. I don't have the patience to part as demonstrated in this video.

@@ayolovephat men have had/worn long hair all throughout history in different eras and cultures (see white Jesus and his buds in the Last Supper) and will no doubt continue to do so until the earth shakes us off her back like fleas on a dog.
I wish people would stop associating certain things as masculine or feminine. It always discourages people who want to partake but fear judgement. Good job on you for not caring!
My 3yrs old daughter has hair exactly like yours, I swear!! Curls, thicknesses, and I've watched already dozens of tutorial. I'm a white woman and I've had short hair my whole life, so I'm trying to learn as much as I can, until my child will be able to manage her own hair. Till then, here I am. Now I'm in the process of finding the right product and so far her hair react very well with Shea moisture. My problem is the frizz. She won't keep a cap on even if I pay her with chocolate 😂 and the next day the hairstyle won't be as nice. I hope I will get there sooner or later
Hi darling a satin pillow case is a good idea or is she would leave a bonnet overnight then that’s even better! I got my daughters’ one from Walgreens and it is very soft and comfortable around her forehand because it doesn’t have that harsh elastic that most bonnets have. It’s like the one shown in the video but pink and kids size
I love your twists. I'm a Perfectionist when it comes to my hair so it makes me so mad when I can't get a straight part or I have puffy roots😣😒. I have to do flatwists at the crown ..but I love to see that people actually wear twists out in public, some people look me up and down like my hair isnt "done" or "wearable" or cute enough to be in public. Katherine Miller thank you for letting me know! Yes I started doing my hair when I was six because my mom didn’t know what she was doing and would give me these BIG top knots or jumbo braids (I had a lot of hair) and my classmates would make fun of me so I said NOT ANYMORE and learned myself and played on my many dolls lol (I was spoiled) but I got it down and just did my hair and only went to the salons for relaxers 😓 color and cuts
So true. I can definitely attest to this. My twists are A LOT neater than when I first began doing them and now I can even do cornrow braids! That still needs a lot of work but being able to cornrow at all is a big deal for me
I truly appreciate your genuineness. It is rare to watch a "beauty" tutorial and have a host be so positive and humble. Thank you for keeping it real. This was a very nice video for my 6-year-old bi-racial daughter and me to watch so that I could convince her to let me style her hair like yours was. You were very inspiring to her. She saw how easy it is and that there is no drama involved with the 2-twist method. LOL!. As a mother, I cannot thank you enough. Keep up the fabulous work!
Idk why this comment made me a little emotional ❤️ I guess because it’s so important for little girls to feel good about themselves and hair is a huge thing (meaning them learning to accept and embrace the texture they were born with- understanding all hair is good hair!) I’m sure her twists came out BEAUTIFULLY!❤️ good for you mama!
when i did my twist tonight i was bummed that my hair wasn’t long enough to have this style and thought i should just take them out but you doing this with your length made me feel way better 💞 thank you
Great Job Jeanette!! My hair is so thin from breast cancer treatments. But since I have done length now, I'm going to try the two strain twists. Thanks for sharing the video!
I'm wearing twists now! My natural hair (after 3.5 years of transitioning) is finally long enough this year to wear natural styles like twists without falling out or being at an awkward length due to shrinkage and the relaxed parts left over. It's such a convenient style to detangle in sections too when I don't have the time to tackle my full head all at once
Thanks. watched you years ago and your technique works well. Over the years forgot how to do it neatly!! Great to see your video still available for a refresher course.

girl i am absolutely shook... i have never seen another person who's curl pattern, density, thickness, etc looks almost EXACTLY like mine! looking to do more protective styles, so i will for sure be following your methods lol
Thanks so much for this! My hair has recently started falling out from stress so I decided to try this style. My boyfriend loves it and my hair is well protected and smells so good!! I’ve got plenty of compliments and sleeping with a bonnet at night has kept it nice and neat 5 days later. Also saves me having to do my hair before leaving the house.💃🏽💃🏽💃🏽 Wish I could attach a photo. THANK YOU!
That is my weekly routine, that is exactly how my hair looks after I'm done, and at the end of the week I do my twist out. Great hair! One thing about my hair when I twist it, it reaches all the way down to my back, as soon as it's dry, it shrinks right up to my neck lol shrinkage is killing me
Nice one, but what and what are the product you use cos it only the leave in conditioner that I can hear clearly, I mean for your natural hair to be bouncing as if you added kinky to it
JeanettJBeauty, I love watching u cause I Know u always work hard to help a lady out , I have to love my natural curly hair and didn't chemical relax it for about 15 years now & so trimming it for about 20 years on my own,and my hair growth is doing well.but I have learned some stuff from u. thanks for your tips and I say your hair is so pretty as u are.so keep it on fleek young lady.
You are so beautiful with how you are wearing your gorgeous twists!! Believe me, I LOVE having my hair twisted and right now, my hair is twisted. So thank you for showing your video on your experience of to twist your hair. These videos having to do with the way you ladies twist your hair interest me!
Thanks for sharing the video. So glad I ran across your channel. I plan to twist my hair tomorrow. You make it look so simple. You really have given me some good pointers.
I can’t part the back of my head for anything...I have to get my fiancé to part the back of my hair...don’t tell nobody though I’ve been sworn into secrecy 😂
Hi thank you so much for putting your product links in the description. I am just now transitioning and I am not doing the big chop. Although permed my hair was pretty healthy, elastic and strong and long. Question..I have about 2inches new growth of natural unpermed hair. Do you think I could do this style at this stage? I would probably need to put small rubber bands on the ends? Thanks for sharing! 💕
Learning how to do my daughters hair. This video is so helpful!!! I just tried it on her hair tonight and it wasn't perfect but this made it a lot easier for me to learn! Thank you!!!
Another reason why i love your videos... You show us a wash day and a styling video. I tried the smoothie fr the jbco line and OMG i loved it.. It mixes well with the leave in i used it on my daughters hair and her hair came out amazing
💞💞💞 Ahhhmazing!! I was just thinking of a style for the week, and this is definitely my inspiration to do protective twists like yours! Being a mom of young children, and having a RUclips channel along with everything else you do, I'm sure is hard work so if anyone never told you today, YOU ROCK! 💞💞💞💪🙌🏻
My daughter has the same type of hair, which is different from mine. I struggle to try to find easy things to do with her hair (she's tender headed too) , so I am beyond thankful I cam across your channel. Instantly subbed!
LazyGirl Fitness I’m glad you mentioned that you have 4c hair because it removes the misconception that using taut tail combs aren’t good. As long as your gentle and take your time you won’t rip your hair out! 🙌🏽
So gar so good. Fabulous Jeannette🌹🌹🌹. Keep it going. I am a new subscriber. Your work appear comprehensive. Not a lot of interruptions in your demonstration. You do a demonstration. Not a movie, soap opera, or otherwise. Straight to the point.
I have watched everyone of your videos. I look forward to seeing you. So when i ask where have you been, it's because you are my favorite and I get so much good information from you. I have completely transitioned and now it's grow time! Love you and your children. Keep it up. God bless you!😁
For the past month this has been my go to still. After 2 weeks I take it out wash , DC and put it back in. Will be rocking this style for the rest of the year!
So pretty ♥️ I wish my hair was as thick & dense as yours. I love wearable two strand twists BUT with my hair being on the thinner side they tend to looks "scalpy" & I hate it 😡
For someone who has just started properly to look after my hair, I want to say thank you because this tutorial helped so much. Obviously i need to improve which will take time as my hair is still a bit damaged.
Beautiful! Absolutely Beautiful! You are beautiful. Your hair is beautiful. The way you explained how to twist your hair is very helpful. You have been doing this for years and I have been trying to twist my hair for years and it never look like yours and we have tbe same thick curly wavy hair texture. Gonna try the products you use. If I get frustrated, as I often do, Im gonna pay someone professional, like you, to do it. Thanks for sharing this enlightening video👍👍👍 💗🌷😍
Yessss! Your hair looks beautiful! Thanks so much for this vid. I always have a hard time with the back of my hair and parting. I just need to take my time and part well and make sure I am twisting with equal amounts of hair. I don’t have a large amount of experience doing my hair (although I have been natural for 13 years and the main person doing it, but I didn’t grow up “doing” my hair in all types of braids and what not so I feel amateur in this...if that makes sense). ALSO, I can not agree with you more about the rat tail comb! I also have type 4 hair (mixture between A and B) and it works WONDERS in making sure the hair looks nice and has the curl at the end. If the hair is not well detangled, it will not look as good. I feel like twisting my hair now, haha!!
We have the same hair, well it looks like it at least!! You are the first person where I have been like HEY THAT LOOKS JUST LIKE MY HAIR TYPE. NGL it's kinda exciting. Loved the video and def will be watching all the hair videos
I have got to do this! I am a Taino Indian Puertorican mixed African and other things and my hair is similar to yours. I’m just now trying to do these beautiful twist outs! They look stunning and I also do need to get a great curly hair deep moisturizer. 😊😊💜
That is great I wish my hair comes out like that, but it's thin I'm just going to let it grow now because everything seems not to work. I love the outcome
Thank you for explaining and demonstrating this, because I was thinking of doing my own twists for protective style as well for winter. But I didn’t know how to do with just natural hair without adding hair extensions to it, because it seems like too much work for me. Because I want to be able to manage it better and to apply it, better because I’m new at this kind of stuff because I’ve always had people do my hair for me, which I don’t mind at all since their licensed, but… I want to be able to do my own hair my way that’s more suitable for me only. And plus I don’t want to try a style that’s too harsh on my scalp & my roots, to prevent it from growing because I’m tender headed. But other than that…this is very helpful, I’ll trying either this week or next week to do an experiment on it. And lastly…I just realized this video was uploaded on my birthday 6 years 😅😅😅.
Your hair looks so healthy and love your natural color! Thanks for giving us a great tutorial on only 5 hours of sleep!💕❤💕😍 Hope you can talk a power nap!😉😌❤
God has bless you girl with patient I see my hair is not nearly as thick and long as yours and yet I can't sit and do this myself, YOU ARE a inspire to others, thank you
How does the hair in these twists hold up for the week with a regular gym schedule (lots of sweating)? I go to the gym anywhere between 3-5 times weekly. Also, I feel this style works more beautifully with very thick hair like yours. You have a gorgeous volume of hair. My hair is thinner, unfortunately. The twists are smaller when I do them.
This is Yolanda I've been watching your channel for a while I love all your styles I know you are very busy I appreciate the time that you set aside for your subscribers I look forward to seeing more of your videos wish you and your family will and happiness
Holy cheesy breadsticks! I was looking for a tutorial like this! My hair is really thick, not too much unlike yours, and some days I’m just like “I don’t wanna do this lol”. I’ll keep at it, though, in order to get better.

Thank you so much for this video.I can happily say I am a pro at it now. My hair is growing crazy. You are right about being gentle with your hair, and keeping it moisturized. I appreciate your tutorial.. Thanks again.
Yay! That's great 😃
girl i am absolutely shook... i have never seen another person who's curl pattern, density, thickness, etc looks almost EXACTLY like mine! looking to do more protective styles, so i will for sure be following your methods lol
Thank you so much :-)
Your hair is sooooi beautiful. I like the thickness of your twists. And you haven't complicated anything. Well done xxx
Great hair! One thing about my hair when I twist it, it reaches all the way down to my back, as soon as it's dry, it shrinks right up to my neck lol shrinkage is killing me
SUNSHINE JOSEPH I know shrinkage is something else!! But it is a sign of healthy hair 🙌🏽

Tyesha Brown sameeeeeee lmaooo
🤣🤣🤣🤣
are you guys married now?
Dawatha Brown thank you so much🤗💕 I have the smoothie but I never used it 🙃 I like the Shea moisture products!
Felisa Tummings yes, it does have its moments but it’s all worth it 🙌🏽
Felisa Tummings think you so much 💕
My daughter has the same type of hair, which is different from mine. I struggle to try to find easy things to do with her hair (she's tender headed too) , so I am beyond thankful I cam across your channel. Instantly subbed!
Rena Drayton this style would be great for her then and it perfect to preserve her hair and prevent too much manipulation 💕
The best part about this style are the clean parts. It looks like Jesus himself parted your hair...🙌🏾
csquare snaps aww thank you 🙌🏽
csquare snaps njjjjjkkkoo
Beautiful & simple. Love it
csquare snaps hahaha best comment😁😁😁😁😁😻
Just what is a protective style?
Today was the first time I try twisting my natural hair. Came out perfect . Thank you for the tutorial.
I have 4c hair and use a rat tail comb too to detangle for my braid outs. It's honestly a life changer. Don't knock it till u try it.
LazyGirl Fitness omg I know! This comb it amazing!!
LazyGirl Fitness I’m glad you mentioned that you have 4c hair because it removes the misconception that using taut tail combs aren’t good. As long as your gentle and take your time you won’t rip your hair out! 🙌🏽
Love rat tail combs for parting hair. 😊
Love your hair.
LazyGirl Fitness 9ème.
I love the twists in your hair they look beautiful. My hair is really fine and short. Your video was so informative and to the point.
Felicia Dunn thank you for letting me know ☺️
I’m mad late 😭 but I just keep admiring her hair parting. And all the products she has in the back 👏🏾👏🏾
So gar so good. Fabulous Jeannette🌹🌹🌹. Keep it going. I am a new subscriber. Your work appear comprehensive. Not a lot of interruptions in your demonstration. You do a demonstration. Not a movie, soap opera, or otherwise. Straight to the point.
these twists are the the perfect size I always end up doing them too small. Damn I wish I can part straight like u got a keep practicing .
Princess Kay thank you 💕 yes practice really helps
I have watched everyone of your videos.
I look forward to seeing you. So when i ask where have you been, it's because you are my favorite and I get so much good information from you.
I have completely transitioned and now it's grow time!
Love you and your children.
Keep it up.
God bless you!😁
Beautiful. I'm a DC natural. Living in Los Angeles now. Love your hair
Oh wow! I LOVE LA
For the past month this has been my go to still. After 2 weeks I take it out wash , DC and put it back in. Will be rocking this style for the rest of the year!
Just Jamie oh wow!! I know your hair will be growing ✨
Just Jamie your growth is about to be 💥💥💥 my hair is still short so my twists look funny 😢 otherwise it would be my go to protective style as well
I really like how your videos are continuations from the previous video.
KimberleeDM thank you. 💕 doing more of a variety soon
I LOVE the volume of your hair.
Carita Allen thank you 💕
Thanks for this, I’m trying maintain my daughters 4c hair and I think this is perfect for her and me as well
d hamer yes, their low manipulation style is great!
Watching your videos has made me more conscious of taking better care of my hair. You’re an inspiration! 🤗
Karen Darlin thank you for letting me know💕
So pretty ♥️ I wish my hair was as thick & dense as yours. I love wearable two strand twists BUT with my hair being on the thinner side they tend to looks "scalpy" & I hate it 😡
Tieasha S. thank you 💕 sorry to hear 😓
Same here
Lol, me too! I love the way twist look on other people, when I do it it looks horrible.
I've seen videos where they add kinky hair to it for thickness. Make sure the hair is good quality so not to dry/cut your hair when added.
Same 💔
For someone who has just started properly to look after my hair, I want to say thank you because this tutorial helped so much. Obviously i need to improve which will take time as my hair is still a bit damaged.
Wow those parts are well cut
The lines are amazing
Notifications squad where y’all at☹️🙌🏾❤️
Blue Royalty thank you 💕💕your support is appreciated!
Candance Hendricks thank you 💕 patience is important ☺️
We have the same hair, well it looks like it at least!! You are the first person where I have been like HEY THAT LOOKS JUST LIKE MY HAIR TYPE. NGL it's kinda exciting. Loved the video and def will be watching all the hair videos
Thank you so much 🥰
Your hair is growing fast! I love watching your videos.
Natasha Shrieves thank you for noticing 🙌🏽 it is, thank you for you support 💕
I have got to do this! I am a Taino Indian Puertorican mixed African and other things and my hair is similar to yours. I’m just now trying to do these beautiful twist outs! They look stunning and I also do need to get a great curly hair deep moisturizer. 😊😊💜
That is great I wish my hair comes out like that, but it's thin I'm just going to let it grow now because everything seems not to work. I love the outcome
Sonia Smith thank you 💕 just let you hair breathe ☺️
I've seen videos where they add kinky hair to it for thickness. Make sure the hair is good quality so not to dry/cut your hair when added.
You are just a precious soul I enjoyed watching your presentation and will try this out since I've never done it thank you 😊
Thank you so much!
Love that comb. I will definitely check it out at Target. Thanks for leaving a link.
Agentfelicia it’s so good 🙌🏽 I use it all the time 😌
What's the name of the comb. I am looking for it at my local target and don't see it.
Malaika Best Evolve rat tail comb set

Malaika Best did you find it? It’s by evolve it should be with the combs and brushes
Wow! It looks so easy to do. I love the finished look. I think I am ready to try this technique on myself. Thank you!
Thank you so much 🥰
This came just in time! I habe DC in hair and after I rinse it out I will be doing this. Trying something new instead of another wash n go.
Aray Brown yay 🙌🏽🙌🏽 I love styling my hair like this ☺️
I watched this video twice! Back-to-back, Girl! Thanks so much!
A Better Me yay 🙌🏽 thank you for your support 💕
I'm definitely gonna practice doing my hair like this❤️!!
Deaishaa J keep going ☺️
Deaishaa J hi dear. Just want to offer you bushes for all makeup from here: www.pouchynostore.com
Thank you for explaining and demonstrating this, because I was thinking of doing my own twists for protective style as well for winter. But I didn’t know how to do with just natural hair without adding hair extensions to it, because it seems like too much work for me.
Because I want to be able to manage it better and to apply it, better because I’m new at this kind of stuff because I’ve always had people do my hair for me, which I don’t mind at all since their licensed, but…
I want to be able to do my own hair my way that’s more suitable for me only.
Thanks for giving us a great tutorial on only 5 hours of sleep!💕❤💕😍
Hope you can talk a power nap!😉😌❤
Carla Ann thank you 💕 omg I know today I will get some good sleep!! 🤩
The skill! She parted the full width of her head in one swoop! 👏🏾 perfect twists sis. Beautiful! I’m determined to get mine as pippin as yours. 😍
You just got a new subbie! I loved your video; it's so professional and informative. Your twists turned out super cute and juicy! Nice job!
Bunny Thank you 🥰
God has bless you girl with patient I see my hair is not nearly as thick and long as yours and yet I can't sit and do this myself, YOU ARE a inspire to others, thank you
How does the hair in these twists hold up for the week with a regular gym schedule (lots of sweating)? I go to the gym anywhere between 3-5 times weekly.
Also, I feel this style works more beautifully with very thick hair like yours. You have a gorgeous volume of hair. My hair is thinner, unfortunately. The twists are smaller when I do them.
Biklar using products that help your hair to hold work especially at the ends. You could use rubber bands soaked in oils to help hold your hair ☺️
Beautiful twisted hair looks so neat and fresh.🦋🦋
You gave me confidence to try this
Yasmin Roberts 🙌🏽 I’m happy to hear ☺️
Love it♥♥♥will be doing this to my 12year old daughter head. Thank you for explaining and giving us step by step♥

psr076 thank you 💕
How do you ensure that the ends of the twists done come undone ? Do you use elastic bands or anything?
Eclectic Witchcraft I twirl them, that’s all
I have been watching your videos and you have given me the courage to do a twist on my hair.
YAY!! Thank you for telling me

Holy cheesy breadsticks! I was looking for a tutorial like this! My hair is really thick, not too much unlike yours, and some days I’m just like “I don’t wanna do this lol”. I’ll keep at it, though, in order to get better.
Jade Dragon lol keep going 😄 love this style 🙌🏽
