I forgot to mention my time actually using the board.
So here it is:
Firstly I absolute loved how butter smooth the switches were, and the actuation force was perfect. Along with the switches, I truly felt and noticed the differences when adjusting the switches (actuation and rapid) you can make this board incredibly snappy! I could feel it and see it within games (fortnight, CS2, Halo)
So keeping this short and sweet, what I noticed with this board is it is a top contender for competitive gaming. As I stated in my. final results, if you will utilize the features (mainly switches and switch customization) with this board, you will be very happy!
As for me being more Professionally Casual rather than Professionally Competitive, again the Blackwidow is for me. The best part is having so many dang good options now!
I would get the blackwidow 75, but it has double key press issue. So many reports of people having their keyboards double press not even a month after purchase.
I got the Blackwidow V4 Pro for the same reason. I went ooh & ahh for the actuation/switch features but at the end of the day I don't think I will ever learn to manually USE these features. I play mainly FPS but I'm nowhere near a competitive player who would benefit from such features. I was more attracted to the Blackwidow V4 Pro's underglow RGB, command dial, media controls and macro keys. And also the fact that it has a far superior underglow RGB leatherette wrist-rest.
@@Poloniums Both the original and replacement had this. So sad because I love the keyboard so much.
For those doubting the synapse rapid trigger and actuation .
Its working properly, oct 7. Someone released a video of the keyboard actuation not responding if the synapse is open and Razer fixed it the next day.
0.1mm actuation wasnt working properly until you turn the rapid trigger on. Razer fixed this also the next day.
Atm there seem to be no more new issue.
I have the huntsman v3 and i swear its working properly but ofcourse its razer so somebody will doubt it whatever we all say.
Hello. Are the rapit trigger settings saved in the keyboard memory? Or do we need to enable razer sinaps for this feature to work?
@@maksarez it saves to onboard if you save it in synapse
I like Razer so far, I have the Razer huntsman mini, should I upgrade to the huntsman v2 8khz or the v3 60% (mini)?
@@erasble the V3 versions use the newer MUCH better switches
@@erasbleWhat did you end up getting? I’m looking into buying V3 instead of Apex Pro because of all the problems people are having with it.
For those who don't understand, this keyboard is for top tier competitive gamers. The adjustable actuations and rapid trigger is to maximize reaction times. If you're a casaul gamer there are better sounding and customizable keyboards out there.
i find it funny that certain people always assume that every keyboard release is for the enthusiast group, like every keyboard should cater to the enthusiast
This is definitely an enthusiast board though. Made to compete with the best gaming keyboard, the Wooting. The 60% is $180 and TKL is $220. It's not worth buying unless you utilize the unique features. It's one of very few keyboards that have them. Sure you can buy what you want, but you'd be wasting money if you don't even use these features. If you can't even see or understand the features then there are plenty of good gaming keyboards for under $100.
@@PowGetRekt i meant the custom keyboard enthusiast group. They think everything should revolve around feel and sound not knowing there is a different market for competitive gamers that needs performance over form
@@WastingDrip Aren't those people still buying mechanical switches in 2023? Kek. And seriously, buying keyboard for sound when you sit at your PC with headphones on anyway is beyond ridiculous.
Nailed it 👍
Feel better dude! Was waiting for this video, but could have waited longer for you to rest up.
Pre-ordered the keyboard and got it on 10/5. It's been an awesome week.
Bought this keyboard to this morning and ofc your review comes out after 😂. Making me feel good about my purchase now can’t wait to try it
How’s it man
do you enjoy it? i always had my thoughts about razer. but decided to go for it since i wanted to try optical switches. and i have no regrets so far. i love it. i love that you don't have to push the switch all the way in to trigger it.
Once you get going into the video, you get fired up and become the "normal" The Techne! If you wouldn't have said anything in the beginning, I would never know you were fighting the '19-virus.
Great video! You are a trooper!!
I would love if they had an option that has the optical switch benefits to movement keys with the stealthier typing experience of the yellow switches
that actually sounds way better than the original huntsman, big improvement. Props to razer.
props to the price too
@@RelaxingSounds-ih8qdi honestly think it can be cheaper
@@Billy_The_FrogDefinitely. It's about 300 wtf
In India its about 180 dollars
I think it does have 1 layer of dampening foam, just not heavily advertised. Great review overall! Get well!!
Thanks very much for the awesome review, hope you get better soon!
Great video ! I'm looking for a new good gaming keyboard , and i was in between huntsman V3 pro & blackwidow v4 pro , and you got me at "Im not a custom keyboard junkie"
Thanks for the detailed and informative review. (Hope you get well soon!!)
Feel better soon! You are a trooper!
$300 CAD for the TKL is a hefty amount of cash, im still considering getting it tho because i want a rapid trigger tkl keyboard, i currently have the apex pro mini
Same here it’s a shame wooting has no interest in making TKL
i've read some news that akko and monsgeek will release their HE keebs, all in 75% unfortunately
75 is fine, as long as it has rapid trigger@@reyhanalpha7511
i subscribed i loved your analyse, thanks for showing how my next keyboard is like
Feel better. Thanks for the review. 😊
Get better soon. I made it all the way through too and then in August got it from Disney World. So far for me the 75% will stay on my desk. Kind of wish someone would do a review of that keyboard with the yellow switches. Not sure why they went with tactile....
Yo. Nice review. I am wondering is it quieter than Razer BlackWidow Elite Green Switches. You have Orange switches don’t you? And it sounds less noisy.
I cannot understand the downgrade for the hand support, but the keyboard is really nice!
Guys, should I buy the wooting 60, the steelseries pro tkl or the razer huntsman v3 pro tkl. Price and quality?
Did Razer ever fix Synapse? I have a new Huntsman V2 Analog Full Size Wired Opto-Mechanical Gaming Keyboard I could never use. It has sticky keys and in game you run around in circles.
@@gumzsteryou’re right it’s definitely not as bad as it used to be, but I still hate it with every fiber of my being
Take care of yourself brother, as always i appreciate the effort and dedication to your content.
I wish it was quieter. Would have gotten it if it was as quiet as the huntsman v2 pro TKL.
Would you recommend this keyboard over the Apex Pro Tkl 2023
My bro asking the real questions
t's nice, but I still go Corsair K70 RGB PRO with brown keys. It's more a big boy keyboard. It's also heavy metal (1,2 kilo), so it stays in place. The hand rest is also megnatic and just plastic. I know some companies believe (fake) leather is good but it's not. It wears easily and it gets dirty easily. The volume control on the K70's are like a DJ. Love it! With one finger you can control it easily while gaming. The K70 series are my Stradivarius of keyboards. Expensive up to $220 but worth it.
Thanks for the video. Get well.
Techne, you think this keyboard is worth 70 euros more than the steelseries TKL 2023?
I love the keyboard (i have the 60%) but when synapse is open the Windows Keyboard Options are not taken into account. It's frustrating not being able to set the repeat rate to what you want! I wonder if the TKL has the same issue
This or the blackvidow v4 pro?
These are gen2 ANALOG optical switches, not the regular optical switches that are in Huntsman V2.
soo this one or the razer blackwidows v4 75% ?
Are you still using the tactile switches in your blackwidow? I was ride or die linear but the tactiles they put in the blackwidow has me in love. I was considering picking up the apex pro tkl to have more brand unity since i picked up the ss alias pro
No I swapped to yellows
Head to head do you think this or the apex pro is better?
Do you have any idea when the non-pro version is coming?
Ive been through about a dozen boards or more and the reallity is customs are over rated and Razer, including Synapse is oing for game and productivity. If they up hot swap and wireless they will become perfect.
Customs aren’t overrated, they’re just too slow for gaming. I’m also not aware of any hot swap optical boards. Take a look at the blackwidow v4 75% if you want to pick your keys and poll 1000hz. Cheers.
Thank for the info!
didnt the v2 of the huntsman TKL have foam though? im not too sure I done gave that away recently since I built my own keyboard.
Greetings, I wanted to ask you, please tell me, hustman analog v2 or v 3 pro what is relevant to purchase today, for games. If there is no particular difference, then perhaps you should not look for v 3
Should I upgrade from the Huntsman V2 TKL to a V3 Pro TKL? Worth the money?
If you play fps games you should for the snap tap feature
Will there gonna be a hunstman v3 non pro? If they will i think I'll get one because it will cost more cheaper right? But what will be the nerf? This pros are not wireless tho maybe the analog switch? Im thinking that the v2 analog can replace the switch to gen 2?
Will I like the switches if I’ve been using razer mechanical yellow switches for the last 7 years and greens before that or should I stick to mechanical, I mainly play cs2 and fps shooters
I wish this one can have red switches.. I'll have to get the V2.. but the TKL model doesn't have the extra dials.
Do you still use the deathstalker v2 as your main board? Im considering buying that
I use it on my work Mac, but not for gaming
how does this compare to the wooting considering it has optical switches over hall switches?
huntsman v3 pro vs wooting ??
Is the huntsman v3 pro tkl or the huntsman v2 pro tkl better?
Great video
does it mic your mic ?
The title is wrong... it's V3 Pro TKL
is there any difference between the v3 pro mini and the mini analog version?
Which one is your main keyboard? the name please
Laughed at the teeth test. I also do that, check if it’s cold or slap it with my nail to see if it’s metal or not
Sorry you got the “19” but glad your feeling better. Ty.
Yeah think im gonna keep my Huntsman v2 tkl with red optical linear switches, dont think this Huntsman v3 is so much better, and dont like the clicky sound the gen 2 switches have, and all that adjustment dont know what i should use it for..
Any chance we get Huntsman wireless version?
I own both black widow v3 65% and hunstman v2 60%
And I choose the optical switch
Optical switches are very fast
To use the rapidtrigger profile, do you need to have the Razer software open?
Everything can be set on the board as shown in the vid. You o my have to use synaps for firmware updates.
Can you review the razer snap tap feature
Can you do a top 5 dual connectivity/ simultaneously headset
Does synaps software still sucks?
i have thhe first huntsman and i really did love it i modded the shitt out of it and it sounds and feels so good. you can def put foam in theree personally i did a silicone pour but now my main drivr is the blackwidow v4 75% butt i love the tkl form so much better. im excited for thiss new razer but disssapointed tthat some of the attention to detail from the new black widow arent there consisdring the pricepoint. yes i get this comes with its flagsshop switches which are imo really good, but sound is important imo.
is wooting better?
wish theres a white version of the huntsmen v3
hey do oyu know how to disable the controller gamepad remapping some ghames that i play day to day changes the settings bc of the controller gamepad?
please help
How long is the cable
sorry to hear about the 19. If razer wants to compete with wooting they need to step it up a bit more than this. They cant charge more have no option to switch the case to a full alloy , no hotswap, sounds like the old huntsman also. I didn't see a weight check here either that we normally get? Thats normally a good way to gage how premium a board us. But if you want a tkl, rapid trigger, .1mm settings , great rgb, and just plan to plug and play this might be it, but overpriced for sure.
I’m not aware of any optical boards that are hot swap
@mikemoore5270 this is a magnetic switch board not optical. The board ( wooting) this copies is hotswap. And yes there are boards that can hotswap optical switches but it's not popular.
Dont really care about hotswap shot, I only care about the rapid trigger... Wooting's keyboard is the ugliest shit there is, I'd rather get this huntsman.
@@egaming2023 It's analog optical. it says so on razer's website. and i do think pros care about performance during game more than hotswap or custom stuff. btw, keyboard weight doesn't mean premium all the time, although i'd understand why someone might like a heavy keyboard
I spent 3 days lubing the keys on this thing. Out of the box the feeling and sound is a massive downgrade compared to my Huntsman V2 TKL. Literally within 2 minutes of opening the V3 TKL's box i was seriously considering returning it. It feels/sounds cheap even though it's now even more expensive. These gen 2 switches not only have more rattle, they also have a loud plastic on plastic sound when pressed all the way down. This doesn't just sound nasty/cheap, it also produces a hollow sound inside the keyboard, which again sounds cheap. The V2's gen 1 switches have rubber stops, so you don't get any of these issues. For a gaming keyboard the gen 1 switches are great when it comes to feeling/sound.
So i generously lubed each gen 2 switch with krytox 205 g0, with XHT-BDZ on the stabs, and put 3mm sound dampening foam inside. Absolutely massive improvement, it feels and sounds great now. But i shouldn't have to waste so many hours doing this crap. The V3 shouldn't be such a HUGE downgrade compared to the V2 out of the box in these areas. Unacceptable.
I would love to have one of these as it seems to be the ideal keyboard for me but for $220?!?! If I could poop cash, I would not spend $200 on a keyboard. Guess I'll keep on rocking my Corsair K70 Champion Edition that I struggled to spend $120 on lol
can i put custom key caps on this board?
Thanks man! 🇸🇪😉👍🏻
Razer decided some time in 2022 to force everyone to create a razer ID and log into their account to retain their savings on the bloaty software. Of course, many people have already purchased gear from them. I tested it using a new account and a new email and sure enough, I started getting spammed by random emails. Razer data-mines you and, moreover, this practice fucking utterly deplorable to force users to sign up for their account to use the functions on their peripherals without telling disclosing this fact. No one should be buying Razer products until they stop this practice!!!
Can I use it on my Xbox ?
Here's hoping Razer figures out how to get the sound/feel of the widow v4 75% & the performance of the huntsman v3 pro in the same keyboard. Until then I'm sticking to my fully modded wooting 60he.
It would be good to do a drop test on those keyboards to see if the keys don't come loose everywhere.
???nobody is dropping keyboards
@phonehseng people drop things that cost a lot more, dont know why he wants this guy to do it though
people drop things like phones because they are prone to it keyboards are not prone to it@@whitebwoi
Tf?
It’s hard to justify the price for this keyboard when there are other keyboards with same features but at a lower price. The only thing it would give a reason is if you love the razer ecosystem
Eh 🤷♂️ if the want the optical keys at 1000hz….this is your upgrade
For a keyboard at 1000z really isn’t going make a difference as much as setting actuation and rapid trigger points. I see 2000z-4000z polling rate a difference in mice but not in keyboards.
@@nazarethproductions7095 I'm an osu mania player and it's *unplayable* if you have a PR of 125hz, those 1000hz really make the difference
What one is better the razor huntisman v3 pro mini or the tkl I wanna buy the best ome
tkl all day for me
please review the redragon headset lineup techne
Volume Booster Key Is The Best Here 🥵
Should i get a Wooting 60 HE or razer huntsman v3 pro mini?
Wooting
Will wait for a white version
hey just got a question. - why this keyboard supports only 1000hz polling rate when normal huntsman v2 have 8000 hz polling rate. Like the rapid trigger mode is fine but why Razer didnt included higher polling rate? Can anyone explain it to me +?
havent seen any analog style keyboard with >1000hz. likely the amount of data the keyboard needs to handle to be able to constantly detect every key's actuation point more than 1000x a second
@@deckstor1 That's exactly the reason. It's because of the tech the switches are using.
This is way better than the overpriced outdated Logitech G Pro LightSpeed TKL. This is the real PRO lineup
Wooting was better than razer hunstam v2.What about this v3 ?
Id take this
Wooting still owns everything stop the cap😂 @theTechne if you don't like 60% then consider this otherwise wootings still the best
Thing I didn't like with the V2 is that the analog functions don't work and when pairing a controller, vibration doesn't work either UNLESS you unplug and plug back in the usb c cable from your PC as it's powered on.
I wanna know if V3 fixes this issue as I may get it. Loving the analog function for FPS games.
Hey, techne! Huge fan been following you since my first build a few years ago.
I recently started working remotely and was wondering what keyboard you would recommend for both gaming and working. Currently have the hyper x alloy. It's amazing for gaming but for work it's not.
Thanks again if you respond 🙏🏼🙏🏼
do you need full-size for work?
@@TheTechne It's just nice to have around. I'm a business analyst. I sometimes use the number key but not as often to get a full-size. I used to have a TKL you recommended a few years back but it finally died out.
@@redpaz157468I ain't no Techne, but deathstalker v2 pro TKL might fit your requirements. Techne himself used it as his main for a while
I'm not sure how I'm going feel about the linear switches because I'm so used to clicky/tactile keyboards, I'm currently using a huntsman elite with the purple switches and before that I had a blackwidow with the green switches. (I'm so scared that I wont like it since I've already ordered it.)
Once you go linear, you can never go back 😉
Optical keys are nice. All you really hear is the stabilizers once in awhile.
@@raf4097 I sure hope so

I refuse to buy everything that is related to synapse 😌
45g not 40g for actuation buddy
You sure? I honestly believe it’s 40g. Can link me your info please?
I need this with quiet keys
same
Thinking about buying the TKL so swap it from my wooting…😂
Bro get well soon
Such an expensive top tier keyboard and its got no padding on the wrist rest gosh
4:25
These mf's released the Ornata V3 just right after I've gotten myself a V2. V2 had a Volume Slider, Fully Customizable RGB and a decent wristpad. Sadly my V2 broke no full year after and when trying to hand in warranty they could only give me a V3, which in general also cost like 30-40 Euro less, for reasons. Only has 10 RGB zones, media controls got stripped down and the new wristpad is just straight up plastic with no real cushion for comfort. Wtf Razer.
I'm rocking my v2 with linear switches. The upgraded linear with damping foam is a pleasure to type on or game with. I don't understand the point of "analog switches"
In the name, analog, they can work like a controller's analog/trigger like, playing a game and wanting to walk vs run? You can actually adjust via how far you press the key, same with car games, you can cruise and ease into turning vs all in or all out like normal switches, it caught my eye and the full size huntsman v3 pro is what I went with,, look forward to trying it out 😁
Analog switches can go all the way down to an actuation point of 0.1mm on the v3 compared to 1.0mm on the huntsman v2. So if you play competitive games, the shorter actuation heights make the switches lighter and more responsive, giving you an advantage over people with non-analog switches. Plus you can adjust it from 0.1 to 4.0mm
Still floating keycap design :(
how a gaming keyboard needs to be this loud.
Yah might be good. But it works with the worst app, razer synapse. That's why I'm not impressed anymore with any razer
Wooting and new apex tkl are very better. I have both, and of course wooting is the best one, the acoustics, mod possibility, how it looks like, and the wootility. But apex is better than the huntsman v3 because of the OLED screen. There you can change all the keyboard settings very easily, more than in the razer one's (and we can't forget about the snake game you can play there lol). The sound of apex is horrible, but I believe that the huntsman's is not so different. Good video man!
You can’t be serious that you are saying a keyboard is better because of an OLED Screen. Yes, maybe it does give quick customizability but I heard that the Apex’s OLED Screen after a while (if you’re using a still image) the image gets burned in. I had an apex pro tkl and i got a refund after Steelseries gave out a firmware update which made half of the keyboards type by itself. I went through to support and they blamed it on dust… I had cleaned out the keyboard, done all the troubleshooting they gave me and at the end they didn’t want to admit fault on the ass software and tried to offer me RMA, no thank you!
@@loze9138 The oled alone doesn't matter, but the huntsman doesn't have it and the other functions are the same, so this is the difference between them two, this is why the screen is the reason for apex being best than razer's v3. I'm a active member in stellseries reddit community for a while, and this is the first time that I heard about burn in in the screen, I'm not saying you are lying, just that this is very unusual. I know steelseries engine is shit, but once I had to contact the support ant they were very fast and nice to me.
@@loze9138 Yea. I hate the SS software. Full of adverts and it even asks are you sure when you want to turn off auto startup and disable Sonar.
This is a step back from the V2, the V2 switches are silenced and overall very nice.
In terms of what?
@@rydernord2269sound probably
No way this keyboard is so much better with gen 2 switches. This keyboard isn’t aiming for sound it’s aiming for performance and for more competitive gaming. If you are not looking into competitive gaming and just sound of a keyboard as well as price then the v2 is better.
