Thanks man. It’s coming along for sure. Starting the Dana 60 regear this week. Then I’ll be setting a wheelbase and getting the motor and trans in the frame. Getting there man.
Haha. Yea. Tbh, that is always a thought of mine. I don’t like mud…love rock. But always thinking about how to clean trusses and protect them. I think the holes that are in this one will allow space to flush everything out.
I’ll do a video on the brakes when I get to it in the rig. Because the CJ I have didn’t have power brakes…I’ll be running the 14 bolt factory brakes and the superduty brakes too (which are huge). At this point my plan is to put a TJ brake pedal assembly. Then I’ll use the TJ brake booster and I’ll put a larger master cylinder on it to push enough fluid….should work well. But I’ll do a video when I get there.
Thanks for the support. It’s definitely possible. I’m not exactly sure of the wheel speed sensors but I’m sure the info is out there. However, a swap truss for a super-duty Dana 60 is the same for a jk or a jl. Meaning the springs are the same distance apart. I do know the jl trackbar is a little longer than a jk track bar. So there are some minor differences where you’ll need to either make a piece or buy one…but it’s definitely possible.
That’s a great question and I’m sure I’ll find out 😂. But tbh, Artec isn’t concerned about it. I haven’t heard anyone complain or have an issue with it. My thought is that with all the bolts on the diff cover and the 8 bolts holding it tight to the rest of the truss…I don’t think it would get tweaked in a way that would bend it to that extent. Those two gussets that are inside of it also provide a ton of strength. So I think it would take A LOT to make that happen. But you guys will be the first to know if it does.
You could. There isn’t as much aftermarket support. But it’s catching up. It’s also a VERY large ring gear and usually isn’t necessary. The 11.5 is a half in larger than even the Dana 80. Which also means the 10.5 is a half inch smaller than a Dana 80. But with the 3rd pinion support bearing…it’s arguably just as strong.
@@WarPaintOffroad thanks! Had to ask, because it’s almost to impossible to find the full float 14 ,99-06 around here. There’s plenty of newer ones with under 50k because they wanted even bigger axles, or just front end damage. Thanks again for getting back to me!
Beef… that’s what’s for dinner. 🤘
Heck yea! It’s coming along!
looks awesome

Looks great. Time to go shopping. lol I might have to put larger drain holes to get the mud out of it.

@@WarPaintOffroad It's a Louisiana way of life I guess. Lol
@@vicgustafson8514oh it definitely is. I’m in central/south Texas. It’s super dry.
would you do a video on the brakes? Or is it stock and can it handle the super duty brake calipers?

I’m a big fun of you work I have a question do you think it’s possible to swap some Jl Dana 44s on my jk ?

How easily will that come on/off once it gets banged on rocks and tweaked.

Why is it only to 2006? And why not go with 3500 11.5 over the 10.5?
