I changed springs on my A4 B7 1.8t quatrro I used ur video as a guideline took me 5-6 hours on one side... On the other side I removed the shock then I just unscrewed the swaybar from the link then removed the 2 subframe bolts completely and voila the spring came out without any more work then I used a jack underneath to compress the spring so I can screw the subframe bolts. You don't need to remove the calipers u don't need to remove the handbrake cable (its long enough) basically I did the job in 1 hour without access to powertools

Is this pretty much the same job for a B7 quattro sedan? I've got a nice new pair of springs and I'm going to try it on my own. Great video, by the way

Procedure is the same but springs differ from sedan and wagon at lease in the rear. Thanks. Appreciate it. Lots more coming on the avant stay tuned.

@@MyHomeGarage thanks. I bought Seat Exeo springs with the same OEM number as Audi for sedan, hope they will fit

I did a pair of rear coil springs on a A6 3.0 TDi Quattro estate . I removed the adjuster bolt and nut (marking its position before removing as it alters the rear toe setting. Then the rear long lower suspension bolt and nut, the shocker bolt and nut then I used 2 x outer coil clamps that I could get my socket up through the two holes in the lower arm to compress the spring, and remove as I levered the suspension down with a pry bar , and did the reverse to refit the coil spring.

My adjuster was seized in the sleeve.

@@MyHomeGarage my droplink bolts were seized in the linkbars bushes top and bottom bushes. So I had to work around them.

@@Rayfaedundee real world problems. nothing is ever as easy as described. Things always break or get seized.

This is the same concept as a 2008 Audi a4 Quattro sedan? I won’t need a spring compressor ?

      Yes sir

What if you’re not lowering your suspension & you’re installing the original spring coil, do I need a spring compressor? Cause it’s a lot bigger than the small one you installed

My brake line is very hard. No way I can squeeze it. What can I do to stop all the fluid to keep gushing out?

They make rubber plugs. That fit over lines. Or finger condom over lingle.tight with a elastic band

My brother, who is a certified mechanic, tells me to push down the brake pedal and jam something between the seat and the pedal to hold it down. I usually use the case with the warning triangle. I do have to adjust the seat almost all the way forward to keep the brake pedal down. There will leak a little from the brake hose, but only a few milliliters
