It’s amazing how the general concept of nearest point of relief is mostly considered “nicest” point of relief. Made a mate take a drop (in competition) at the correct nearest point when he wanted to drop about a metre in the other direction because of a tree on his line of play. Proceeds to hit his shot into said tree and goes “ see it was on my line” to which I said “ well then you should have played a different shot”. He didn’t seem to grasp the concept and he’s been playing longer than me. Probably one of the most abused/poorly understood rules in golf
Great explanation of nearest point of relief and the rough/fairway in the general area. Best part was the chunk!
After having taken relief in this example, can you use another club e.g. your putter ?
After taking relief correctly for the stroke you were going to play, you may choose to play a different stroke, and/or use a different club.

😂😂😂 I’ll keep plugging on about Nearest Point of Relief!
Yepp, see it all the time.
Seldom is a Point of Relief determined properly to begin with.
What you call "nicest" PoR, I call "most convenient" PoR. 😉
Can u still tee the ball
You can't tee the ball anytime in the fairway.
