Stryker 10 Meter Radio SR-955HPC The best mobile radio I've ever owned! Lots of surprises and all good. I read extensively about it but the amazing filters were not mentioned. The receive is amazingly clear. Everything works and very well. Very happy new Stryker owner!
The Stryker is a 10 meter radio not a CB, if you have it modded to talk on the CB (11 meter) frequencies then you are running a illegal radio, do everybody a big favor and stay off of the CB frequencies.
I have got Stryker SR-447 HPC2. Fantastic radio. I used quite intensely throughout every day of the week and gets worked over pretty good. It has been a great radio for me. It is smaller in size the cobra 25 classic.
It was until Uniden stopped making their boards and components. I have 6 modern 29 LTD's and looking at them and seeing the build quality I'm appalled since Cobra has been building their own. Cheapest parts known, hot glue everywhere, just overall crap IMO.
That is fantastic! Please don't hesitate to contact us with any questions that you might have. We are also happy to help with product recommendations. Wishing you a wonderful day!
ok for those who don't know, unless the board has been hacked up RF gain does nothing to your transmit power, it essentially amplifies receive signal so that you can hear weaker signals.
Only a tuner should be the last thing in line so as to show amp output, you will need an SWR meter to measure the radio and a tuner to match the antenna to everything else. Suggestions vary according to what you are using, If you want to play with the big boys you need a SWR meter and an antenna tuner to go with that amplifier.

RJ Spitz yes correct, RF gain only effects the recurve signal. 99.9% of the time it's best to have the RF gain all the way up. Only if somebody is really close to you, and coming in at "30 pounds" or more, would you maybe want to turn the RF gain down.

Hi Leonardo! Have you tuned your antennas to your truck? If so, what are your SWR readings on channels 1 and 40? If you haven't, we recommend not transmitting until you know that your SWR readings are within an acceptable range otherwise you might damage your radio.

Ok...the SWR readings are decent/acceptable. Since you are still getting the antenna warning light, you will want to make sure that your system is properly grounded. This section of our Help Center could help you with that: www.wearecb.com/testing-cb-antenna-ground.html
Since you do have good SWR, it is likely that it is grounded properly but we just wanted you to make sure since this is very important. Also, it might be a good idea to use an external SWR meter to verify that your SWR readings are correct. When testing with the other trucker, verify that your Mic Gain and Rf Gain are turned all the way up. If it still doesn't work, you might try using a different microphone- it could be a bad microphone or something damaged in your radio.

You would be correct! RF is used as a synonym for "radio," in this case a CB radio. Hi Ben- we would hate to recommend a product that we aren't offering since we do not know the condition of that radio itself. We offer them brand new for $109.95: www.wearecb.com/cobra-29-ltd-classic.html Echo boards and installation vary in cost. If it is a good radio and comes with the echo board already installed, it could be a good price but we would be wary. Good luck!
Pull the trigger.....
do you work on cbs for public?
Thank you for contacting us! We apologize- we do not currently offer services on used radios. We do offer our Peak & Tune Service on new CB radios that are purchased from us. We hope that helps!
when I switch to set my needle doesnt move at all
How is plugged in?
It would plug in via PSU unit which was out of frame during the filming of this video.
I just Bought A Cobra 85 Home Base CB Radio From 1975 1976 Vintage for 10 Bucks. Bought a K40 Antanna. Because it was Missing the Antenna. Can't Pick up Anything. Anybody Know?
Buy an antenna and put it outside your house, on the roof. Check the SWR's and start talking!!
SWR's??? There is only ONE SWR & it's the reason you can not buy an SWR's meter just an SWR Meter. Thanks for the laugh. LOL hehe haha {:>)
Nothing more than one would get from reading the manual that comes with....bore me 2 tears...
can somone tell me what is the Watt of the PA, 10..12..15 ? thank you !
From my understanding Delta tune only effects receive and does not effect transmit.
Hi Tom! You are absolutely correct.
Tom Wold Don’t even know why they bother with delta tune on AM, more of a gimmick. AM is quite wide band anyway!
What kind of antenna will you recommend thanks
Carloz Salgado That depends on your application. We have a guide that may help you here: www.wearecb.com/the-best-cb-antenna.html
Carloz Salgado omnidirectional ground plane antenna for 360* coverage
or Yagui-Uda directional antenna for more signal gain in a specific direction
Does this model Cobra come with Talk-back from factory? if not how easy/difficult is it to add?...anyone..over?
Only a MORON would ever use Talkback,Echo,Reverb,or a Roger Beep & NO this radio has none of those useless BS items & that makes it a great choice.
Find a radio shop....plenty out there...
