Same 😂... only because I've cut myself doing the same thing more than once!. Next time lay the cable flat and cut along the middle...if not for your own safety then for your viewers sanity 🤣
I’ve realized it’s a bigger deal than I thought 😂 I’ll try to be better with it, though I’m always like, “just one little slice and it’ll be done, I can do this real quick.”
@@SailingArtha I got mad respect for you taking on this project in a foreign country! So please don’t feel like im trolling you, just a little observation and I don’t want you hurt no more! Lets get this mono haul done and go sailing!!!!
Nicole, the same with screwdriver, in one video you were cleaning some bush, holding the bush in a way that if if screwdrive slips it will go and hurt your hand. You are the Inspiration to many ! even older people :) Take care
Ugh, glad to hear I’m not alone with the razor blade! Girl. Self👏Preservation👏 One slip up and that’s a tendon cut. We say this out of care, but I’m sure it’s annoying to hear
You're the "star" of the show; it doesn't matter what project you're doing. You seem to be developing an "attractive" content formula. Liked the modeling "sailor girl" with her sails. ;-) More of that please?
Fun video! If I had a dime for every time I put down a tool and couldn’t find it five minutes later…..BTW, Evolution did a great job with my main! Thanks! Andrew
You're not the first one to cut a live duplex wire :P I prefer testing my breakers with a brand new pair of shears so every time I use them I can think back to why there are two spark burns on the blades :P
Baby girl, we have talked, nothing easy at all, but just the knowledge that you did it, and yes I’m 71, sew most of everything on my Rose, your young, you can do this, I do everything on my boat, I just rebuilt my refrigerator, replaced the compressor, everything is working, and fixing to put it back in the boat Soon, just keep on doing what your doing
Those bands in the connectors are glue. When you melt the solder, you melt the glue and it makes it waterproof. When you cut the bands out, you defeated the purpose of putting the connector on. I am guessing you probably already figured that out, I thought the same thing when I first used them.
You should start taking better care of yourself. When doing electrical installation you always work with no Voltage. The last thing you connect is the power. It doesn't matter if it is 12 v DC or 230v AC. When you cut those live wires you do a short circuit. How many amps can your battery deliver when it is a short circuit? If you are unlucky you cut a live wire that doesn't have any breaker fuse.
Bubble wrap would seem more appropriate. She seems to get the rough end off everything. Wish I was in a position to help out. Moral support will have to do.. you can do this. As good as the boat is. It shows how hard boat work is. Even a small task on a small boat can turn into a real challenge.
Sweetheart I'm sorry but sometimes you just need to give it a break and rest your injuries and let them heal because keep working them is going to make them get worse I'm sorry my dear please take a little break let things heel love you take care be safe❤❤😊😊
Listen young lady, stop using that razor blade! Go and buy a good utility that knife because a good utility knife will always be useful for the rest of your life! And while you're at it get a wire stripper. A rule of thumb- A dull tool is a dangerous tool.
i was thinking the same damn girl u are amazing but u have to start thinking with what u are doing that blade will cut u bad , exp cutting towards yourself , not trying to put u down but please as someone has rec get a proper cutter cut away from yourself and use a wife stripper .... sail on
I did find my wire strippers (gifted from my wishlist too). They were tucked away deep in my electrical bag somewhere. Much more convenient and safer. Next is a utility knife
One God once said: The biggest punishment - is ignoring... I've seen a number of your episodes where you were disregarding any safety measures for a job and very deeply caring for you people have left very kind and genuine safety suggestions for you. However, you deliberately or not continuously ignore them all. There is a piece of safety gear associated with every tool in existence. With the simplest ones being safety goggles, work gloves and work shoes. One of the best things you can do for yourself is to make a list of all tools that you have, including a razor blade, go to your friend who has helped you with your mast base and ask him to match a proper safety gear item with each tool. Hurting yourself is awful, and I hope that something will make you learn doing things the right way, even if it takes more time, like putting on your very comfortable and elegant work gloves on or pulling out and using a cutting board with that razor... I've stopped watching at the razor blade moment to write this and can't watch any further, knowing odds and options on what may happen next 😢
Thanks for these suggestions! I definitely get impatient with projects and just go for the quickest and easiest way to get things done, often with little regard to my own safety. It has backfired in the past but in the moment, I always think, “oh just this one little quick cut.” And sometimes, that’s all it takes! It has definitely been a challenge here in the DR where they don’t sell the same blades for the handles in the hardware stores, or any paint sticks, or hazmat suits. When I run out of things, I have to wait about 2 weeks for new items to come in. Juggling that with a tight budget and just trying to get projects moving, there’s always something that has to be sacrificed. Sometimes I prefer to just work through some of the toxins so I can get the boat out of the yard sooner than later. Anyway. It’s something I need to work on. I appreciate the input, I should make it more of a priority!
You and a razor blade scare the hell out of me. I've got personal experience with the wrong tool stripping wire insulation. Young, dumb and stupid, stripping a hot wire with a hunting knife. The knife ended stuck in the wall behind me.
You and Danny should not have done what you did to me y’all are the ones that joined to participate in doing what you did to me you should not have let him do that period and y’all are paying me back y’all are the ones that signed up to do what you did to me when I did nothing but be a nice guy
About 5k USD. I think I will put something together on this, maybe have a few different funds that people could contribute to if they wanted to see something happen, like new sails. I definitely got a little in debt after my knee injury because I had to move on land. Thanks for the suggestion.

Just found your channel and subscribed today. You're very inspiring! Looking forward to seeing all your hard work finally in the water! Keep it up!
Awesome, thanks for the sub and comment! Have a nice day.

I always use my box cutter to cut wires .. left my wire strippers in England lol
It is a lot easier sometimes
I'm glad I'm not the only one that is injury prone! I always figured it had something to do with me being left-handed LoL
Haha! I’m left-handed too. That could very well be part of it! I think most tools are for right-handed people.
