I wonder how it would sound with different strings, like strings with the same thickness, would it make it sound more snappier for plucking and thumb slapping?
I'm guessing without using their strings (kala design) you wouldn't be able to get it down to bass pitch, nor would they probably fit anyway. I don't know what they are made of, but that's probably the KEY, rather than the thickness alone
Interesting question!..I feel I don't like this thick kind of Rubber/Polyurethane strings..now I'm wondering what are the options?

The only problem with that Idan, is that I am American. I just have both Israeli and South African friends. Not to mention, I am someone's mom, and they're probably your age Idan. You don't skype with someone's momLOL
HAHA sometimes I forget that i'm talking to a PAGE or a STORE and not the musicians themselves, especially when i'm on my phone and not seeing the name of the page that has replied to me.. sorry.
That's ok. I got a kick out of it....
He makes it look way too easy to play those rubbery flabby strings! Throw some flats on it and then even a mere earthling can play it and make it sound like an upright, a P bass, a Bass Uke and I've even heard one setup to sound killer as a piccolo bass similar to Stanley's Alembic piccolo bass. That's actually what sold me on one and I play it a lot just sitting around the house so I even get a decent amount of practice at home now without having the neighbors or the fuzz show up even if I plug it into the Big Muff!

666JL666 Me too, I also own Kala Sub U Bass 4 and 5 string models, and can get HUGE sounds out of both of them.
