Nostalgia by itself is one hell of a drug but for some reason, Dearly Beloved gets me emotional like nothing else. I get goosebumps instantly and sometimes teary eyed. There's something about the music that I can't really even pin point. It's something else.
Its just the same for me, listening to this every few months again and always gettin tears dont know man, its hard growing up and not being able to relive those sweet times
Almost 40 yrs old and the Kingdom Heart Soundtrack still gives me goosebumps. It hits my soul, the journey that i helped Sora achieve as a teenager cannot be replicated.
The script for everyone who never touched kingdom hearts is always like "Ah, look at this goofy aah game with disney characters, looool. Not gonna touch that, it's for kiddos." *hears Dearly Beloved once* "WHO SENT ME ON A FEELS TRIP, MAN????" And I think it's beautiful
The fact that he said he felt “emotional and sad, it almost made me tear up” really shows he connected with the song and what the composer Yoko Shimomura was trying to get across to us as the audience. Even without context that so many of us have as players and fans of the games he felt and understood this piece.
I played Kingdom Hearts as a late teen (I was mid 17) and oh dear, when I sit and listen to this music again today, I just want to cry, it fills me with such emotion, it's nostalgic, it's beautiful I don't want to press start 😭😭
I can't hear this song without crying lol The games are absolutely worth trying out, at least the first two because those are the only ones I've played. They are a powerful experience, even for a grown ass adult. I'm not a Disney fanatic or anything, but the game integrated the world of Disney with the world of FF so well it didn't matter at all.
This is the first game I ever played that made me realize video games can be art. I remember being completely blown away by both the opening cinematic and then the transition to the theme music/start screen and just gaping at the TV. I was a Disney fan so I was hyped for the game to begin with, but, like you, I wasn't expecting it to take itself seriously or be nearly as awesome.
This song is the best song I ever heard in my life. I remember the first time playing kh2 and hearing dearly beloved and getting goosebumps. Not a lot of song can do that. I recommend teasured memories, isn’t it lovely, Kairi theme, etc. Also personally to me kh2 has the best soundtrack. So much so that the music has repeatedly been used for the other games in the series. I also recommend hearing dearly beloved from all the other kh games (birth by sleep, 358/2 days ds and 1.5 version), and chain of memories. It was always a nice surprise when ever you buy the game and then the copyright show before the title sequence.
I would also recommend Friends in my heart. And I agree with KH2 having the best OST. I love the whole series but 2 just had banger on top of banger and the most amazing emotional tracks you will hear. Tho nothing beats any version of Hikari for me. It's a perfect song
This song makes me cry EVERY time I hear it. I've never played KH but ny children did yrs ago that's how I know it. I remember saying to them back then, this song is so sad for a game . Yrs later, I'm still wiping tears after hearing it. Interstellar (film) being the other 😔
I played kingdomhearts when i was maybe 8 or 10 and im about to be 22 soon and this game will forever have a hold over me as my childhood and the universe i grew up with.
Kingdom Hearts is my favorite game series of all time, saved me in my time of depression and the music is one thing that kept me happy. Also, don't let the Disney stuff trick you. This game can really hit hard in emotions
Each game the song gets a remix. Currently we're awaiting a hip swing version from the mobile game. Different versions of the song convey new emotional responses. This one is mystery and young love you might say. It's the start of a great adventure, the beginnings of emotions, etc. The next numbered title is all about missing pieces, so some instruments or melodies are missing or out of place, or even replaced.
Yeah the menu music for this and KH2 had me torn as a kid because I wanted to get to playing the game but I really wanted to hear the song before I started.
@@afonsosnow im 1000% sure he is right that its the one from kh 2, because of the intro and the piano arrangement, in kh 1 rendetion there are wave crashes, this doesnt have wave crashes
Man, I wish I could experience Kingdom Hearts all over again for the very first time. While I’ve only played the main 3 games, I can say that it’s an incredible journey. I hope by this time, you’ve gotten to play at least the first game through.
Yeah it has Disney characters but I wouldn't say it little kids' game 👀 No spoilers, if you play it. I can't say my favorites, too many 😅 So beautiful and emotional music though the games, if you play make sure you play in order which isn't 1, 2 and 3 ;) Believe me ^^
I actually do somewhat tear up when I hear this. Not even just the beauty of the song but I had a pretty tough childhood and games like kingdom hearts, final fantasy, and metal gear solid really helped me escape my reality. When I hear these types of songs it makes me appreciate having them.
I'm a bit late so it may have already been made, but if you want to see musical cinematics from Kingdom Hearts, this saga is know for its mindblowing intro sequences to the main episodes : KH 1 KH 2 KH Birth by Sleep KH BbS 0.2 KH 3 The other games intros are way less cinematic, and re uses the songs that are already used before. All thoses songs are performed by the same singer : Utada Hikaru, in Japanese AND in English. It could be nice if you'd watch all the intros in that specific order (release order) and try to guess what the overall story could be x)
Ok so I'm back from your KH 1 OP video, to confirm if you're intersted or not in KH, what I advice is to proceed with the KH 2 opening, it should do better for 2 main reasons : The song is not electro/RnB ish anymore but more of an orchestral arrangement, and the visuals are less symbolic and way more representative of the game.
Square Enix, with final fantasy and kingdom hearts ,define alot about me ,,i even became a musician just because of Square Enix, let alone the personality growth
If You can ever find the time, play the games, brother. Dive to the Heart hits you right in the heart as you move through the series and so does this, and it also hits you right in the nostalgia feels if you've ever liked anything Final Fantasy or Disney. Sounds strange, but it works. It REALLY works. We'd watch that channel, too.
if you want more absolute bangers for KH music, give any of the following a listen (in no particular order): rage awakened, the other promise, destati, dive into the heart -destati-, dont think twice, L'Oscurità dell'Ignoto i could go on and on, since the music for KH is just so good
My ex-boyfriend is a gamer, and he used to play this song for me when I struggled to sleep at night 🥺 and till this day, I still listen to it every night
If you want to get a feel for the more action-oriented music now that you've heard a more passive theme, I recommend listening to certain boss themes. Several that immediately come to mind include: Destiny's Force, The Deep End, Forze Del Male, Dance to the Death, The Encounter, The 13th Struggle, Fight to the Death, Darkness of the Unknown, Titanic Clash, The Consuming Dark, and Tension Rising. Regarding cinematics, if you want to get a good look at what Kingdom Hearts gets up to with its story when it doesn't have you frolicking in Disneyland, I'd recommend looking up the Secret Ending of Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix. Even if you ignore all of the above though, one thing you definitely shouldn't miss out on is hearing the orchestral version of Hikari/Simple and Clean.
There’s a reason Sora was the most requested character for Smash Bros and the absolute hardest to get the license for. Kingdom Hearts brought so many people to gaming that would never have done so otherwise.
The KH game series has alot of serious and goofy experiences. Most of it makes zero sense, but is absolutely beautiful in more ways than im able to explain efficiently...
i know you saw the opening cinematic for kingdom hearts 1, but i would really like to see your reaction to the opening cinematic for kingdom hearts 2. it's considered the best in the franchise and i want to know your opinions on the song

And they are all amazing. It's like the song grows with the characters.
I love how Kingdom Hearts has always been about dreams. This song sounds exactly like the idea of a peaceful dream.
Dearly beloved from kingdom hearts 2 is such a goat it literally was so beautiful it made me cry while I was a kid tbf kh2 in general is the goat

KH has nothing but beautiful music, and you should play the entire series. It is worth it. It absolutely is more serious than you think.
This song just calms me down from all of my life anxieties and frustrations.

Kingdom hearts is actually very very dark. The lord in the game is the story. Disney just sets the world building
And most of the games have bittersweet endings. Kingdom Hearts 3 ending still hurts but the game hinted at it with so many details.

A good place to start might be with KingdomHearts Birth by sleep. The series is only a kids game on a surface level.
Due note birth by sleep was originally a psp game though so the gameplay may feel a bit clunky compared to other games in the series
You’ve got to try the series buddy, it has such wonderful music and an amazing story.
There is a different arrangement of this song for every game Kingdom Hearts game
My absolute favorites of the orchestral stuff of kh are the different character themes, and the other promise.

You should react to every kingdom hearts game opening. Dream drop distance is my favorite opening
If you get some time, I would love to see you do a blind playthrough of Elden Ring if you haven't already.

Might look like a kids game but… good lord. Things story wise get crazy later on. Especially with KH4.
Idk if ur still reacting to this anymore but. Definitely listen to the cavern of remembrance it’s so hard.
React to the cinematic opening/ending sequences pls :)
Try Mitsuda - Star stealing girl, that’s the real emotional bomb
If you like this song, you should listen to 'Weight of the world' from nier automata
Hm Arknights have epic music. See come to light,Radiant ,Ensheath,Hunters song or Renegade.
