Now that's a smart idea: do the pool resurfacing now so you can enjoy it, even though you are going to be moving in a few years. Why wait until the last minute so only the new owners get the benefit?! I'm sure it will look marvelous and you're going to love and appreciate it!

You must be stoked. I so miss having swimming pools and beaches, when I lived in Connecticut. Minnesota boony woods raided daily by a zillion mosquitoes, black bears, wolves, coyotes, deer and raccoons make having a pool impossible. But the quiet is priceless. Oh, I got lost for a minute lol, I am so looking forward to seeing the finished project. I did love the glass titles, but the new one will go just as nice. Can't wait to see!!! I wish they made a way to order new umbrella fabric and switch it out! The fabric fades before the umbrella wears out ALL the time. Also, Sunbrella is better for outdoor fabrics, but not sure how much more time you get.
Beautiful space! Thank you for sharing your ideas and wisdom with us. Grass paint works miracles on brown spots in your lawn. Can’t tell the difference when mixed right. Lasts 2-3 months.

We did a backyard redo last summer. Resurfaced the pool, had all the patio cushions recovered and even changed our 13’ umbrella canopy (we were told it would be cheaper to buy new). I would love to show you pictures of our backyard paradise. I can’t wait to see how yours turns out…stunning I’m sure!

Buy water shoes in all sizes for the babies and all your guests until you get the coping and pool re-done. The kids won't get stung if they step on bees on the grass too.

We’re in North Texas and have the same seasonal changes y’all have in Oklahoma. At our last home we had a 45,000 gallon saltwater pool with a huge stone waterfall that was built in 2001 and when we bought the home 2011 it was already needing to be resurfaced, the flagstone coping needed replacing, 1000 lb sand filter needed to be replaced and the digital controller needed to be upgraded. 😫 That was an expense we were not prepared for! But it is necessary when keeping a major home investment in top condition. We enjoyed it for 5 years before selling and to this day it’s the thing I miss most about our old home.

You'll love your new pool. Love the glass ( however , hard water deposit line will takeaway from the tike) solid tile you choose is impressive.

Had my pool built April they didn't finish until late August and though I can get in they haven't finished the wall on the sides that's needed for drainage it's been 7 months. When we signed the contract they said 8-12 weeks

Can’t wait to see the finished project, I’m sure it’s going to be beautiful even though your eventually moving this will add value to your home, I can’t believe it’s taking so long to build your dream home, is there a reason for this, homes here in Australia 🇦🇺 don’t take that long to build unless your renovating your original home, just curious how it works for different countries. We should talk! I am in the same boat. I have house plans for a new build, but we postponed building due to labor and supply chain shortages in my area. In the meantime, my pool has seen better days. I have a built-in cleaning system that needs to be replaced so it is going to require a lot of work, and a lot of money. Several years ago, I replastered and changed the tile. I choose glass tile and a majority of it has fallen off. No one told me about extreme temperatures (So. Texas) and glass tile. I can attest that it's true!

Ah,ah,ah...glad you are having fun, love it but I woud do the pool after summer was done, I am a duck so I would wait until september, maybe 2 months woud be fine to have the work done, not missing one sunny day...it's going to be amazing, wish I could jump inside with you, lol. we do have a saltwater one, no glass since toronto winters are not easy on pools either...good luck, dying to see the new pool.
