    I have to say, while I love your high end fabulous designs, this is the first practical, usable and affordable makeover I ever seen. Ninety percent of us can’t afford to spend the big money generally shown and therefore just see the big design makeovers as eye candy. Seeing this actually made me realize that I can do this myself and be extremely proud of it. Thank you so much for the realistic design.

    Beautiful transformation! We need more videos on smaller homes with lower budget projects. The more expensive larger homes are great but those people end up using a decorator which most of can’t afford. I welcome you to the East coast to transform my small Lakehouse anytime and to show the viewers how to shop where furniture stores are very limited.

    $5,000 is a small budget??? I beg to differ that is alot of money to spend on a room makeover

    • @Scrabble8393
      @Scrabble8393 29 дней назад +5

      As a designer, often what we tell clients is that you have to consider the life of the furniture. Sofas typically last 7 to 8 years, so a good sofa can last you 20 years with care, but that would be in the range of $3500-5000. Once you start considering things from a different perspective, the value increases and the budget makes more sense. She was respectful with the money they had and made a beautiful environment for their family.
      Everyone is different. The average mid home client would spend in the range of $10-$20k per room, just on their own without a designer. This wasn’t a full design, it was a re-fresh.

    I don't know, if I missed an episode about this (if there already was one, someone please share the link with me), but can we talk about diagonal walls ? I've recently moved to a new apartment and my living room and guest bedroom share a diagonal wall and I honestly am not sure how to work around it, it's such an awkward placement for anything because it's too small to make it a statement and at the same time too big for it to just be unnoticed whilst walking into the room.
    Awesome episode as always, Rebecca.
    All the best,
    Klaudia

      I know exactly what you are referring to. However, it's difficult to give you any kind of design advice without seeing your specific room. Might I encourage you to join The Design Sessions? I say this because I know it will help you immensely with any type of design related challenges you may have. In fact, each month I choose 5 members who have submitted their questions or concerns and address them directly. Your issue sounds like a perfect example of the type of help and advice I address. @@yaninabedrinana1611 thank you Yanina, truth is… I put my heart in every project. I’ve done $500 projects where I personally sewed the window treatments… to a 37 million dollar project where I pointed and selected… in each case and everything in between… I put my heart into it. I absolutely love what I do and care so much about the end results… and the client’s response. I hope they love it and are fully satisfied with what I did for them. Thank you for noticing 🙏🏻 RR

    I love all of your videos, but my favorite are the ones with “regular” houses and budgets. The very high end is fun to see but the regular makeovers are for the masses, like most of us!!

    Amazing, and I am impressed that you used the nice things they had and built on that with the budget available. By keeping the rug and sofa, it left more for the other furniture they needed to create a beautiful new living area.

    That was a great transformation. I loved seeing what could be done on a small budget, it's amazing to see that just moving furniture around makes such a difference. I also loved the blending of wood tones. They were such a cute couple and Oliver was a doll! Thank you for sharing!
