Sharrah. You are such a beautiful soul. I totally get what you are saying. I always think this way. When the chips are down will you say I wish I spent more time on RUclips and my work or I wish I spent more time with my children and husband. I think you are making a wise decision. Your children will grow so fast snd you will wonder where the time went. I wish you and your family many blessings.

I know creating content will always be a part of my joy and life and I’m excited to be able to diversify what I share and how often I share it. Thanks for being so encouraging 🫶🏻🙏🏻

I completely agree! My kids are now in college and I see how fast their childhoods went! Everything else can wait. It is not a badge of honor to say “I can do it all” - it’s a fallacy. We can do it all, but not all of it will be done well.
I am also encouraged by your honesty here because now I am at a place to consider other possibilities in my life. I love my current job, but have always worked part time (to make space for my family) and now am wondering what’s next. It’s hard to let go not knowing If the thing I grab next will be as fulfilling. Thank you! Enjoy your Beautiful children!

This is the craziest thing. Several years ago I started following your channel for the interior design content. I was constantly redecorating my house and planning for seasonal decor. In December 2021 I had my first son and about 4 months ago I actually unsubscribed from your channel because that content no longer served me in my current season of life. I found myself looking for motherhood journeys, tips and tricks for toddlers, etc. This video popped up on my recommended page today and I immediately resubscribed to your channel! I totally understand that your perspective has changed and I am grateful to see a content creator who is being true to their heart and family values. Best of luck and I am super excited for the new direction!

You changed how I viewed interior design and during college when I was poor until I got married and grew a business and changed my life. You made such a positive impact.
I think God not an algorithm brought me to this page and I couldn’t have needed this video more then right now. After 7 years of trying to have a baby we are pregnant (failed IVF miscarriage the works) and my baby has been my business I Am florist I grew it from the ground up and I was AGONIZING About closing for two months after the baby. You being courageous enough to share this made me feel less insane to want time with my child. To switch my focus and to learn to be a mom and give myself some for that when they’re little. Thank you for your encouragement in interior design, but also in life

New life level unlocked. I hit this realization when I turned 40 or so. I’m 44 now. My most happy times are spending time with kids and family. I had to find a way to do more of that and not be focused so much on things that don’t bring me the same level of happiness. Kids grow fast and I’m glad to look back and say that I was able to be available for them during the majority of their life “stuffs.” My kids, 17 and 21, are good people and I’m glad I was able to help them get to that and I don’t regret a thing.

Then my mom got cancer and will be having chemo and I will need to take her to appointments. So I quit my job. I just wasn't feeling that it was right to continue working in a job I wasn't happy in when my family needed me and I needed time to take care of myself too. Now I have more time for my family and I think that it is the right place for me in this next season. Kids grow so fast. You are doing the right thing.

Girl, you are a Rockstar! Don't ever doubt that! I built an interior design business from the ground up and had to walk away to focus on my children.
The HARDEST part was the fear of what my clients would say and how it would affect them. But, when the lord calls you to be with your family, the only opinion that matters is his. Everything he does is for the good! It will be so beautiful to have family content for you to look back on and for your kids to see how much you did for them!
I felt this video in my bones... I've been there. And I'm here to tell you that even though life looks different than I thought it would, I am so grateful to have the time with my children. Have grace with yourself. Don't jump back into ID posting the day they go into school because you feel like you "should". Do it when you feel called to.
I am more inspired by you today than I have ever been by your channels which is saying a LOT because kinwoven is part of what inspired me to become an interior designer in the first place.
Go on vacation, don't turn on the camera, play with your babies, kiss your husband. Just enjoy life. You only get one!

Sharrah, I’ve followed you a long time but never commented. You will never regret stepping back to devote yourself to your children. Trust me, I am sure you have been told how fast the time goes. That is an understatement. I left my career 10 years ago because I felt that pull that something needed to change. It’s a sacrifice of course as a woman to give your job a backseat today. But the time with your children, raising them and being present with them, you don’t ever get it back. Embrace this time. Follow your heart. You are an amazing presence on RUclips and your dedicated viewers will stay and support your content. Bless you for sharing your honesty. That’s not easy. Take care and go be present for your babies. You will cherish it. I can speak from experience I don’t regret my decision at all. My boys were 5 and 7 when I left my career and they are 15 and 17 now. The time flies. It feels like it was just yesterday that I felt the same way and shed those same tears. My boys remember when I left my job to prioritize our family. Not all have that choice of course. It is something I don’t take for granted. Take care and follow your heart. ❤

Good for you! As a 62 year old mother of two I am astonished at how fast the years have and are flying by. We as women think we can “have it all” but the truth is we can’t do it all well at the same time. Something will always be less than it could be. Also, imo, I think children growing up with a camera in their face constantly isn’t healthy for them. It’s kind of similar to having your phone in your hand while having a conversation with someone-the subliminal message is-I’m not fully paying attention to YOU.
Spend these years raising them with your influence and values. They’ll always be time later when they’re grown to jump back into whatever it is that you feel like. But this time now-it’s crucial for you to raise children that you will love as adults. They WILL give back what you gave them❤
I wish you and your family every blessing and much happiness🙏🏻

👏 Bravo for coming out and saying your truth, not to mention making the decisions that are right for you! I admire your honesty and confidence in changing your path (even if you didn’t feel very confident while you were making this video!)
I’ve been watching the videos of both you and your mum for a really long time now, and honestly I’ve taken a break from both of your channels for the last few years. Part of it is the way my brain works - I get into “hyperfocus” periods where I’m super into some channels and follow everything they do (as well as having different things that I’m super into at different times), and naturally some of the other channels I’m subscribed to fade into the background a bit more because there’s only so much time in the day and how much I can watch 😂
I usually come back around though and will come back to those channels and people when the the mood takes me… and I’m actually surprised to find I’m not subscribed to your channel right now and I had to come search for you! I don’t know if that’s because you’re posting from a different channel than when I was first watching you through Live Your Style, or what… or if I did actually unsubscribe on purpose at some point. That’s a possibility though, and related to another part of the reason why I haven’t been watching your videos lately… while I’m thrilled for you to have started your family and motherhood is clearly so important to you, I’m 41 and childfree so this isn’t something I’m that interested in personally… and that’s fine!
Bringing this back to what you’re saying in this video, it’s so much more important that you do what brings you joy than feeling like you have to keep making specific types of content that your heart isn’t really in anymore - this is YOUR life, and while RUclips has been a big part of it for a long time, it doesn’t rule you and you shouldn’t ever feel beholden to the algorithm! This is a bit of a “soapbox issue” for me - I’ve made a version of this comment to soooo many creators I follow, on RUclips mostly and sometimes also on Instagram, because I can see it’s all too easy to get caught up in the whole thing and feel like you’re not fully in control anymore, and have it start to take a toll on your mental health. I don’t think anyone in the audience or community for a content creator would EVER want them to just keep going through the motions instead of taking stock and figuring out what is right for them, even if it means the content they were originally there for isn’t there anymore… the “parasocial relationships” that people form on places like RUclips, where you feel like you know the creator even if you’ve not even commented before, means you tend to feel a bond with that person, and care about their wellbeing! So it’s for this reason I think ALL of the people in your community and audience would always support you (or any other creator!) in making choices that make you happier ☺️ Sure, I was originally here for the design and decor content, and I have been watching your videos less these days because our paths/interests have diverged… but even as a “lapsed subscriber”, I think of you with warmth and fondness and I hope your life is making you a bit happier than when you made this video 🥰
(And I realise I’m commenting almost a year after you posted this!)

Kudos to you!!! I think we have plenty of vapid, ditzy pantry organizers making perfect labels and showing us how to vacuum, wash a dish and make a seasonal coffee bar. They make us set unrealistic goals and expectations of ourselves and our lives. So refreshing to hear your raw honesty and saying that your family is more important than a social media presence. I love your videos and will continue watching no matter where your path leads!❤️❤️❤️

Sharrah, I am an old mom who took my son to a sitter and went to work. Actually, he seemed to like going, but I have always regretted working while he was a
    baby and before nursery school.
What I am trying to say is if you can be with your children while they are so young, I hope you
will. Not only for the immediate time, but as the children grow, I think your peace of mind and well being will be so much better. Sorry, I know I am saying these things because I feel this is the choice I should have made.
I am telling you this because I can see you are a loving mother wanting to enjoy your time with your children and give them the best life. I am sure you won’t regret this decision!

Sharrah, you answered many of my unasked questions in this video. How do creators do it? Are the cameras always readily available? What do they think is worth posting? Etc., etc. I often felt sad that you felt the need to share many of the special moments of your life when I thought they should have been yours to keep. You have taught me so much about interior decoration, but you have also enlightened this 68-year-old grandma of four about how remarkable married life and motherhood still are. Don't worry about followers leaving your channel because if they do, they never were meant to be in your life. As you stated, life has its stages, and you are living one of the most important and memorable ones of all!
I look forward to watching you cook great recipes and sharing time with Tyler and the kids. Enjoy your blessings, and I will patiently await this new chapter of your life. ❤❤❤ Virtual hug going your way.

I found myself impatiently wading through the baby content to find the interior decorating content. But I realized that while I do love decorating, I have watched so long because was invested in you. And you were a mother for the first time. Sharing your ups and downs, your highs and lows. You were sharing your heart. You are not the same young woman and your channel such not be the same. I love your content even more now!!!!! I end most of my days checking on Sawyer and Brody.

You do you Boo. I’ll share my story with you and you can take from it what you will. I quit my job in 2009 to take care of my 4 and 5 year olds. I felt just like you, I was missing them growing up and I hated it. I stayed home and raised my kids. Today I cannot get a job in my field although I’ve been on MANY interviews. I feel like they see my gray hair and not my experience. I’ve since self taught myself to build and design a website (not in my field of finance and business). I’ve started my own RUclips channel as well about with zero subscribers currently 😅. But I feel what I did for my family was the most important thing I have ever done. It was so much fun and I look back on those days with pure joy and happiness. Although in today’s society I am probably considered a failure since I am unable to contribute to the household finances, I feel like I did the best thing that I could by giving my kids their mother. These are the most precious moments. Celebrate every moment with them.
