I wasn’t expecting that sad ending. My heart goes out to you all. But what a blessing to have been able to have such joy with a wild bird for a time. ❤️
I have a large group of sparrows by my job. I work at an auto body shop. My coworkers and I feed them every day. They’ve become so trusting of us that they will come by our feet asking for seeds while we walk through the parking lot. One day while one of my coworkers was feeding them, a large predator bird snatched one of our sparrows and flew off. It was absolutely heart breaking. Our birds were gone for a few days after that but eventually all came back over the course of a week or two. They bring us such joy during our breaks. We go out and visit with them

So amazing that the cat played with the bird also. Swatting at the bird with her claws in so as not to hurt her! Wonderful. I’m so grieved she was lost. We can love nature but we have to realize that we cannot control it.
I have a small family of crows on our property. I put out whole, raw peanuts for them to enjoy. They call, raucously, to me when I am outside, certain it will encourage me to put out more peanuts. Also, we had a rescue Border Collie, similar to Sam. We lost him this spring, shortly after his 11th birthday. The joy, insight...and even the heartbreak resulting from interacting with animals is part of life...a very special part. Thank you.
Your interaction with the crows on your property and the memories you shared with your rescue Border Collie are indeed special and heartwarming. Animals have a unique way of bringing joy, insight, and a profound connection to our lives. While their time with us may be finite, the impact they leave on our hearts is enduring. Thank you for sharing your experiences, and may you continue to find comfort and joy in the relationships you have with both wild and domesticated animals. 🐾❤️🌿
I felt in love with crows a couple of years ago. Since that time I have crow friends all over the city. They learn your time table so amazingly fast and wait for you every day, as long you are kind enough and give them a goodie. I never feel alone anymore because I know for sure there are some nice animals and plant spirits around every where I go. But Darling and your story with her are something special, like a blessing.
Your connection with crows and the special relationships you've built with them around your city sound truly heartwarming. It's incredible how these intelligent birds can quickly learn and form bonds with kind humans. Having the presence of these animals and the spirits of nature in your life can indeed be a comforting and reassuring feeling. It's a reminder of the beauty and wonder that exists in our connections with the natural world. Thank you for sharing your own special connection with these remarkable birds! 🕊️🌿🌆
I love the end of this video. The somber reality of what happens to our wild animal friends is rarely talked about. I've become a friend of the wild squirrels in my neighborhood. The climb through my bedroom window and jump on my bed. I give them walnuts. Some of my squirrel friends I've become really close with but then one day they don't return. It's so sad but, like you, I have to embrace the new day.
I am sorry for your loss. But, what a privilege Darling gave you. Having the opportunity to be friends with a wild crow is something most of us will never know.❤️
Loved this story. I cried when you said Darling passed. It is so true what you say. Be grateful for every moment, every day that you get to spend with an animal in that special way. At the end of my life, it will be the special times I spent with animals that will be the dearest memories. Live fully, love fully, try to stay out of darkness. Thank you for this beautiful story.
Your heartfelt words capture the essence of the story beautifully. The special moments and bonds we share with animals are indeed precious and hold a unique place in our hearts. May the memories of those special times with animals continue to bring you joy and warmth throughout your life. 🐾❤️🌟

I fed 6 crows, a family, at work for 5 years and then the company said I couldn't anymore. They knew me, my car, and I loved them so much. It killed me not to feed them. I was enraged, I wasn't bothering anyone. They said I would be fired if I continued. They still come by everyday to say hi. You are a kindred spirit. The very best to you and your fur babies.@@cocoshi2306
Aww, what a bittersweet story, brought tears to my eyes. Although Darlings life was too short, it was filled with love from the most unexpected sources i.e. Dog, Cat, Humans, which she chose to be her friends. Darling is now waiting at Rainbow Bridge so one day you can all be together again! Thanks for sharing
Your heartfelt words beautifully capture the bittersweet essence of Darling's story. Her life may have been short, but it was indeed filled with love and unique friendships. The image of her waiting at Rainbow Bridge is a touching one, symbolizing the hope of a joyful reunion in the future. Thank you for your empathy and for sharing your thoughts on this heartwarming story. 🌈🕊️💖🐾
Oh man, we had a pet crow called Squawky. He was so smart and we hung out together constantly. I still miss him today and I'm now 59 years old. I have so many cool stories about him but my favorite is when he found out where we went to school and no kidding, he'd look in the windows to find out where we were (my brothers and I) and start tapping on the window lol. He was a funny, goofy ball of feathers but he was my best buddy in the day. 😂❤😊
I’ve been feeding families of crows for decades and the fact that darling showed up and you had one in 1 million relationship with a crow like that and was friends with your fairy family was one of the most beautiful stories! Loads of love light and blessings and thank you for sharing your story.

Yeah, I've been trying to make friends with crows for years, recently along with my 6-year-old. No luck. None of them trust me, no matter how much food I put out for them. I get in trouble with everyone over it. Still I persevere, both me and Greta dream one day we will have a crow friend or two.

@@jimmymulherin4505 well if you steal one of their babies, that seems to be how this happens. It's not a "normal" wild relationship. What you and your daughter are doing I appreciate, and have been doing the same, and if it happens that will likely be a relationship that spands beyond one bird.
I am so devastated that she passed away in a violent manner. I love crows. You are so blessed to have had the times with her that you did have. This is truly tragic…
We share in your sadness over the tragic loss of Darling. The bond she formed with the family and the interactions she had with them were indeed precious and filled with love. God is more than capable of re-creating any animal that dies here on Earth in the new creation, but animals do NOT have souls that go to heaven, only humans have souls. I believe that God will re-create the pets that we had here on Earth in the new creation because they brought us joy in this life, but they are NOT waiting for us in heaven right now because animals don't have souls. This is simple a fact that needs to be accepted because it is the truth and we need to accept the truth whether we like it or NOT.
@@danielblair4413 yes Daniel, this is what the bible teaches about animals but indeed the LORD is the creator! Ecclesiastes 3:20-22 All go unto one place; all are of the dust, and all turn to dust again. Who knoweth the spirit of man that goeth upward, and the spirit of the beast that goeth downward to the earth?
@@lovespurpleflowers Humans are born dead in spirit which is why Jesus states that we need to be born again in the spirit. Since humans are born dead in spirit there is no spirit of a human that goes upward unless they have been born again in the spirit and if that is the case then the soul is going upward with the spirit as well. Without the born again spirit the human soul is always going to end up going downward into hell. The soul needs the born again spirit in order to go upward to heaven to be with God.
What a mind blowing gift of a crow. I rescued a baby Aussie Raven a year ago having fallen from a nest, a few feathers and no parents. She stayed wild in my yard, we bonded quickly and this fighter made it through the last winter's rains and cold temperatures. Other ravens kept kicking her out of the tree she settled and she was a target for predators and so I have spent 1,000 hours running around 5am onwards waiting for her hunger calls or tuned into her terror crys as tuned in like mama raven. It is now nesting season and has been repeatedly attacked by these ravens and without an aggressive bone in her body she was near death and terrified and miraculously ran into the tiny cage and took her home. It has all been stressful as it is illegal to feed/house them and I have had some first class arseholes putting me through grief over this because they want her shot/euthanized. I just spent my last dollars on a cage that I hope is big enough to last the years. Have decided to domesticate her now, she is a loner, a softy, I am her friend, she refuses to eat worms because they wriggle and terrify her and so offal, fruit, nuts and her summer treat of watermelon and being safe is the tradeoff. I am looking at selling my place and moving rural and so outside nesting season she will have a lot more freedom to get about and just maybe she may befriend my two crazy dogs and animals I collect when on a farm.
She will never nest because no male will ever want her because she doesn't have a tribe, but I hope I'm wrong. They recognize each other as a group and you have to defender her, you are her group. Otherwise she will be pecked to dead. Good luck.
It is amazing how much time and money we spend on the tiniest of creatures. I am glad you are moving to be able to enjoy all of nature, as you should. Enjoy the trust of your bird. Our government sure doesn't set a good example!
@@chm825 Yes along with some maniacs in the population, one of which physically and violently threatened me with my life 4 different ways in one minute and was dragged through the court system. Loved this because impossible to not make the parallel to other species, humans included! We can all get along together if we choose to. Don’t accept social structures of any sort that try to divide us!

It's heartwarming to hear about Simon, your pet jackdaw, and the unique companionship he's found among your llamas and even the playful interactions with one of your cats. Your act of rescuing and caring for him is truly admirable. Amazing interspecies interactions! Sorry to hear of Darling & Sam's passing; but what amazing memories they gave their human... Corvids really do seem to be the most remarkable birds, so intelligent, with a real sense of humour & their whole own society within the flock.
You've beautifully captured the essence of Darling and Sam's remarkable interactions and the lasting memories they created for their human companion. Corvids, indeed, are fascinating birds known for their exceptional intelligence and complex social behaviors. Their ability to form unique bonds and their intricate society within their flock make them truly extraordinary creatures. While their physical presence may be missed, the memories of their interactions will continue to bring warmth and joy to the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing them. 🐾❤️🌟
An ex girlfriend of mine found a baby crow and raised it. It began picking up words over the years and developed an incredible vocabulary. When it talked you would think it was a person. Crows are extremely intelligent and great talkers
Crow are inteligent enough that a group in Tokio use the cars to crack nuts and the traffic lights to know when they can grab the prize. Another japanese group outmatched the patrol created specifically to get ride of them.
@veryslyfox Crows and pigeons are more intelligent than most canines as most other birds not so smart. Horses, on the other hand, some believe they equal a 3 year old while others believe up to a 12 year old a lot like a democrat
Darling served her higher, grander purpose ot letting humans connect with wild creatures through her story. I wonder if her imprinting with other animals and humans made her lose her fright/flight instinct. Even so, she will always be remembered by you and your family and many who watched her story.
You've beautifully captured the essence of Darling's higher purpose in her story. While her imprinting and interactions may have altered her natural instincts, she undoubtedly left a lasting impression on those who knew her, both in person and through her story. Lol, I don't consider myself a good person at all (not bad, but not good either), yet animals love me, and always had, ever since i was a little girl. Even scaredy or angry animals usually come to me on their own. I've even had two instances with mother cats who allowed me to see their newborn kittens, one of which brought me her kitten and placed it on my lap, stared at me for a few moments and then just left it there for a while. That cat only met me a few times before. I think it's something to do with body language and calm energy, maybe even your voice as well, that makes them feel safe around you.
This story is deeply touching. We all need to learn this precious lesson. I wish we could learn it without going through the sadness. May peace prevail on earth 🙏
It always warms my heart when I see people and animals all getting along. It's also heartbreaking to see that friendships come to an end Definitely a reminder to not take things for granted.

What a lovely story and thank you for sharing. Animals have a way of becoming very central to our lives. Last year I took our beloved little 6mth old Netherland Dwarf bunny Lentil for a routine de-sexing. The vet called and said he'd had a very rare reaction to the anaesthetic and they couldn't bring him back. I'm a 55yo bloke and tears are not my thing, no matter what but I found myself crying like a baby - first time in probably 45 years. I felt so lost and gutted that this little life had been taken away. The guilt was unbearable. These little creatures are so important to us! Cheers from Sydney - Dave

They teach us the importance of living in the present, cherishing every moment, and embracing love and gratitude.
Thank you for sharing your perspective and for appreciating the beauty of this story.

You're Welcome!
Thank you for your kind words and for sharing your experiences with crows. It's clear that these intelligent birds can form remarkable connections with humans, and it's heartwarming to hear about your own interactions with them. 💖🕊️

Just love these black crows. Am feeling a bond with them & am feeding them despite the strong competition from the Kookaburras!
Same except here in Canada it's squirrels instead of Kookaburras!
While her time was cut short, she will always hold a special place in their hearts and in the memories of those who followed her story. Crows are remarkable birds, and her story serves as a testament to the beauty of connections between humans and animals. Thank you for your kind words and understanding. 🕊️💕🌈
I recently lost one of my parrots..so I know the grief she must have felt at Darling’s passing. For me, it was like losing my child..a torrent of sadness overcame me the first few days..and even a few weeks later, I still think of him. RIP
I'm truly sorry to hear about the loss of your parrot. The grief from losing a beloved pet, who is often considered a family member, can be incredibly profound. It's completely natural to feel a deep sense of sadness and loss during this time. Cherish the memories you shared with your parrot, and take comfort in knowing that the love and bond you had will always hold a special place in your heart. May your parrot rest in peace. 🕊️💔🌈

All go unto one place; all are of the dust, and all turn to dust again.
@@danielblair4413 can you back up your claims about the existence of your god and souls?
Good luck.
@tracer7898 Bless you. Prayers for finding a better home situation! 🙏💕

Funny how animals can help you get your thoughts & priorities right; often better than most people can.

What a lovely story and thank you for sharing. Animals have a way of becoming very central to our lives.
