Scoring potential on the right is purely a wsl influence concept as you wont be catching two scoring rides per heat at the main break right without jet ski assistance if its over 6 foot... If you do it would be rare . The right can be a lot of fun when its 4-6 foot but its a nightmare above that size.

My contact there stopped returning my email. I think they are heavily understaffed and trying to do to much with events that things don't get updated in a timely manner. Wish it wasn't that way.
I think Rio will remain on the schedule due to the huge fan base there. Oddly, Saquarema had better waves than some other spots last year, but I know there are better waves in South America they should consider.

And last thing, did I meet you in G-land years ago, during sickshots days, you gave me a dvd of my pretty solid barrel on the ledge? Switch on a red longboard if that narrows it down.

I dont think you've factored in 1 throwaway for each surfer. I'm pretty sure they throw away one event out of the five for the mid season cut, right? In which case those below the cut line dont need as many points to catch up. A top 8 finish (4745 points) should be more than enough for anyone down to Caio Ibelli (29th).
Ah! I missed the throwaway part in doing the totals 😅 Updated the spreadsheet now. It’s very close but I’m leaning towards QF not being enough with 10725 pts (if all the stars align). Will confirm that before the event :)

I'll bet you $20 imaginary dollars that 10,725 points will be the cut off point and at worst it'll come down to a countback for the 3 surfers on that level. At least 2 of the 3 surfers that end up on 10,725 will get through.

Also in order to break some ties, the first criteria will be number of heat wins in the opening rounds of the events and if the tie persists, we go to heat average. Got it?
