Kfc wings are different in Dbn than jhb, they’re more seasoned and spicy in Dbn, I think the Indian population has an influence

There's a Popeyes in Rivonia Boulevard, Sandton. All their branches in SA are closing or have closed down so you'd better try it out before they close down too. The chicken is great and crispy but their menu is limited in comparison to the States.
With the chips, the majority likes 'soggy' chips. We call them slap chips. Chicken Licken tries, but they are not at the level of cafés and street food slap chips.

#TeamChickenLicken Wings! I also don't like the regular Chicken Licken pieces! I'm Team Chrystle 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾. They now sell the hot sauce at Chicken Licken because people love it a lot. They were supposed to give you seasoning salt though. The service is generally not great at Chicken Licken, that is true.
CHICKEN LICKEN all day hands down. Yes, they are sometimes over salted depending on the branch. However, their chicken is natural. Something about that KFC chicken isn't natural, also the sizes are huge.
Chicken Licken also offers a spice packet, check the napkin.

I like the crunchness of CL, KFC is to wet for my liking (maybe they are right it depends were you buy it). They have alot of orders, hence the receipt. So probably system is centralised on orders, not necessarily on walk-inn or drive through customers.

Chicken licken wings are the best by far. They are nicer followed by if not beaten by the new Burger King wings. KFC must just leave wings alone. Those taste awful. I accept chicken licken is salty. Chicken is far less oily than KFC. I'm leaning on chicken licken but i think they can reduce the salt. Burger King wings the best

Kfc sometimes depends on the branch. Where I live the kfc is always good, long lines inside and the drive thru.
Kentucky Fried "Chicken" was forced by the courts to change its name to KFC because they couldn't prove they sell chicken. So I'll take comfort in eating Chicken Licken cos I know it's Chicken.

That's not true for South Africa! There were rumors after the American lawsuit but were soon debunked. KFC south Africa changed its name to keep up with the international franchise.
There is a Popeyes in JHB I tried it it was super crispy but I found it tasteless was so disapointed.
I think it miggt be the way its stored it gets moisture so it gets soft

South African living in the USA. In South Africa I prefer chicken licken but it can salty sometimes, KFC is too oily. In the US I don’t like both kfc and Popeyes, I stopped buying kfc in the states. Also in the US they don’t sell buns , they sell biscuits( kinda like scones). To answer Chrystal about the crunchiness, SA doesn’t have crunchy like Popeyes.

I tried Popeye chicken one time when it was in Menlyn. Their hot chicken was blant. No season at all. It closed down as well.
If they ask you if you want your chicken licken hot, just say no!!! All they do is add salt instead of chilli. That lady who adds salt abuses alot of us. The wings are the real deal though.

The only time zinger wings are best is when drenched in Kfc Dunked Sauce which is amazing. Kfc dunked wings are the best.
