Sounded like she said "father, may I?" Like she was trying to express that you should be polite enough to ask "may I please get my mcflurry?" instead of hitting her with 'i ain't got my shit yet. Gimme'. Very southern. Very manners. Trying to remind you to treat others with those same kindness, manners, and respect. The south doesn't do to the point very well. It's often considered to be rude. Have to beat around the bush down here to protect feelings.

Thats exactly what she said. You're spot on with the mannerisms in the south. Personally, not from the south but did some work there for 5 months doing network installation back in 2000. I first noticed this while walking the sites premises I had to get used to saying hi to everyone I walked by 😆. It was a nice change to get used to though.
Although having to beat around the bush to protect feelings wasn't a world common issue back then either, so that part was nonexistent back then; Of course the 'protected feelings issue' wasn't part of the PSYOP/programing by the satanic devils that fill & stage this beautiful earth wasn't protocol back then either 😉.

I think it's because in Australia fast food workers are not really friendly workers and they always forget stuff, there is no culture of being polite to a McDonald's worker because they screw up your order half the time

All the experimental McDonalds items are in other countries. Them adding menu items in the US changes whole market sectors for the ingredients. The US has 14,000 McDonalds so adding anything is a huge undertaking, meanwhile it has 200 in Portugal, 740 in Phillipenes, 670 in Italy, 200 in UAE. So they can add something crazy to the menu in those places and not need billions of pounds of meat or something to make it work.
