Writer of Invincible Robert Kirkman made all viltrumite males have mustaches. When Kirkman was a kid he said all dads had a mustache, and as a kid dads were the strongest guys around. So he designed all Viltrumites the same since they’re the strongest guys around in the Invincible comics.
That’s interesting
@@DavidscomixRobert Kirkman also named the Viltrumite Empire after a part of the body where the mustache is located (the philtrum).

Definitely felt an Omni-Man parallel when Mark first looked at his blood-stained hands. They looked just like Nolan's gloves.

That sniper rifle Mark hit Angstrom with was from Fortnite. lmao.

And today the Invincible Fortnite skins are back to the Item Shop. That's for sure was on purpose 😄
Such a shame Mark never hit the griddy on Angstroms body
I just saw that lmaooo
oh is that what that is, I was wondering what it was.
That ending once again proved that actually Debbie is the most important person for the fate of earth, because she raised Mark to not become the villain from the many other timelines but a human so good that he broke through Nolan's viltrumite indoctrination. And then Debbie again keeps up Nolan's will to live and fight back because she is not just a pet after all but he actually fell in love with her. Both has consequences on a galactic level.
4:27 yh in the comics that is literally spider-man vs doc ock. I guess Amazon didn't want to pay disney for a cameo.

As soon as Cecil noticed the comm go silent he sent people. Mark said it himself, he was sending him to places where time was moving different. What you saw took like 10 minutes at most, outside Cecil everyone else has to go to the house normally. And yeah in the comic that was Spiderman and Batman. It was pretty cool seeing them. Mark actually stayed there way longer and they teamed up for little while. Again time moves different.
Doesn't make sense, when Mark arrived it was pitch dark outside, there was a dude out for a run so let's say it was like 5AM when Mark arrived at the house. But by the end when Cecil came, it was like 9-10AM judging by how bright it is. That's 4-5 hours when Cecil could've done something but didn't.
@@xero4479It's an hour or two tops, Cecil only got alerted when Mark blasted Angstrom out of the house since he disabled the comms in advance.
They would’ve sent people as soon as they noticed it was quiet for so long. Just took them awhile to notice.
The dino universe is the one where that asteroid missed the earth, so the Dinosaurs never died, and over time they evolved to talk. But humans evolved too from primates, but they never got to form their language because they never lived in large groups due to these dinos, before they were essentially wiped out completely. Humans becoming extinct is such a weird topic.
Mark wasn't sent back in time as it seems initially.
very interesting
Interesting that we evolved I'm a world with dinosaurs. Some scientists think it would have been unlikely for humans to evolve in a world with dinosaurs
It makes a sense that Mark didn’t say anything to Eve. I don’t know how much time has passed since, but for the audience, he and Amber just broke up and then he got hit with future Eve telling him that bombshell. He hast to get over some things before he can attend to that.
But they could have not teased us with that shit tho.😂
Nolan went from: "She's like a pet to me!"
to: "I miss my wife" 💀
Edit: I don't hate pets 😅
Honestly, he was probably in denial about still loving her when he called her a pet.
Still a pet. Her life is short
@@Kbax3614worth it
I get upset when people can't understand that's why he thinks of her as a pet, because of her life how short it is to him. But he loves her. That's literally the only way to compare it. Humans live a lot longer then dogs.
He means her life is short.
As a Man that didn't grow up with a Mother but instead an insanely abusive and powerful Father, that eventually did truly changed for the better, this show really hits Home. Though I've read the comic, seeing it on screen actually makes a Warrior like me shed a tear.
I am really curious to see if they will do the comic storyline for Nolan/Betty. I find it hard to believe they would considering the way our world is right now. I can see the outrage machine going full force.
@titusorelius9458 I get your point, but they've been on point with adapting major plot points like that, we'll also see enough development to give credence to them getting back together, especially with how great of a job they are doing expanding on the emotions you don't fully get reading the comic!
@@titusorelius9458He's a viltrumite, killing or imprisoning him would be counterproductive to earth's defense force massively.

Miguel: "THIS IS NOT CANON EVENT, DAFAQ!?!!"
mark and miles will be best friends
also they are having girl issues 😂
Such a powerful double entendre in a single sentence.
Yeah, on the surface, Mark is literally saying to Angstrom "I thought you were stronger".
But, on another level, he can very very well be saying metaphorically to himself "I thought you were stronger!" Like he is overwhelmed in disappointment in himself that he was not emotionally and mentally strong enough to overcome his anger when Angstrom threatened his family. He embraced his Vitrumite side, and did not hold back.....
The voice acting of "I miss my wife" is just top shelf! It really conveys sadness and yearning, imo.
14:43 - 14:48 Invincible "I had no choice! *He made me do it!* "
(Last season)
Omni-Man: " *WHY DID YOU MAKE ME DO THIS?!* "
I kinda hate when they compare how a good guy doing something in self defense as equivalent to a bad guy doing something evil. Both of those things are objectively true, Levy did give Mark no choice and made him kill him AND Omniman was literally an abuser in that moment acting like Mark forced him to beat him to near death. Just because they technically did the same actions in a way, doesn't mean the context is not relevant and makes it completely different.
@ablasttv I know, but to Mark, it's hard not to see the parallels between him and his dad. All he can see is that like his Dad, he's covered in the blood. Angstrom was the villain, 'cause he let the trauma of his other selves who did suffer from villainous Invincible variants dictate how he used his collective knowledge and power. He became a monster and gave Mark no other choice, but Mark still sees his self-defense as a reflection on what he's becoming. Mark doesn't want to be the monster his Dad was, making excuses for his actions, thus why Mark comes to accept that he lost control and wanted to kill Levy because of how far he pushed him, hurting Debbie and Oliver to get to him
@@sebastianemond5313 ah yea I meant on a meta level, i just kinda wish they'd quit writing stories like that. Its like the same thing as the show Heroes, people had awesome abilities that would have made the show unique to show but the whole plot was based around "waaa i just wanna be normal" so they didn't have to pay for all the VFX to make it awesome.
@@ablasttv Heroes was still a decent show. Their first season will always be the best. A lot of what hindered the later season was due to the WGA 2008 Strike, which was also around the same time Lost was going downhill.
@@sebastianemond5313 Yea I know I was there lol, still even the first episode that was good still had that trope of powerful people wanting to be normal. The absolute dumbest thing you could do with a show literally only about super heroes.

Can’t believe Josh Keaton that voices the spectacular spider man also voices this version of the show as well. Favorite highlight of the show, plus Batman.

The Pharaoh is not from the comics. It's just a running gag. Mark keeps unknowingly stopping him before he can do anything.
Do you realize that Mark went through a perfect date with Amber, had a Viltrumite attack him and threaten Amber, was almost killed by that Viltrumite, broke up with Amber, then fought a weirdo who threatens his mother and brother, went through tons of different universes, killed a guy, saw a version of humans in a world where he wasn't around, found out Eve loves him, and then came back to his world, in like, a day? One of the other oddities of Invincible's home dimension? Only the right eye ever gets swollen shut. The left eye always remains pristine.
If they follow the comics closely Angstrom Levy will indeed come back a couple more times in future, in very dramatic fashion, so you're completely right.
Mark is always holding back, a lot like Spider-Man in that way. Also it's a Walking Dead reference not TLOU they're both Robert Kirkman properties.
37:02 the mummy plot is a running gag, Robert kirkman stated that one of the writers proposed the idea that they have a plot that goes nowhere. The joke is that it seems like a big deal but it’s really building up to nothing. I mean they could always change their minds, but pretty hilarious.
In the comic invincible actually went to the marvel universe and met spiderman and spiderman toke him to meet the avengers. He had a whole adventure with Spiderman tracking down Doc Ock and beating him before Angstrom teleported him back.
The black and blue title card is great foreshadowing
Since I don't have any friends, I love watching your reactions BC it's like I am watching my favorite shows with my friends. Thank you so much for your channel. I so appreciate it. God bless.
12:28 Steven Yeun did such an incredible job voicing Mark in this scene! It honestly looks kinda underwhelming, but his voice alone carried the while weight behind this scene. You hear marks pain in his voice and how fed up he is of taking it and endangering his loved ones, even tho he is so strong, he could kill almost anyone who isnt a Viltrumite, with a single hit, if he wasnt permanently holding back so much. And all that while beeing faced with what would, or did, happen If he didnt do that.
And the shaking "I thought you were stronger" afterwards... Almost made me cry. Pure gold.
Season 2 and 3 were in production at the same time so it won't be as long this time around
For anyone wondering, it looks like Mark hit Angstrom with a weapon from Fortnight, which means fortnight is a canon universe in Invincible.
“Very Spider-Man like”
Fun fact that’s because in the comics it WAS Spider-Man and Doc Oc, guessing the just couldn’t (or didn’t want to pay) get the rights so we get the off brand versions.
Also the zombie universe is heavily suggested to be the walking dead since Kirkman made both properties but again you’ve got rights issues with AMC.
15:19 I learned that the space between the nose and the top lip is called a viltrum. I guess this is why Viltrumites all have mustaches.
Notice how Mark, Debbie and Nolan have the same black eye. Awesome way to visually bring them together.
Idk if you remember but the pharaoh guy was teased in season 1 as well.
Totally not a character from the comics and after two appearances turned into a running gag.
Mark keeps unknowingly trapping him again.
Of all the Marks Angstrom could’ve tormented… he picked the one Mark who literally did NOTHING wrong.
No I think Mark explained it or well that's how I interpret it. In only one version of the multiverse, he is the villain and Mark is the hero. He's tormenting his version of Mark and sadly for him, he's the villain in that one.
@@bersimis2720 True, and he signed his death paper like a idiot.
Awesome! Super appreciate the discussion at the end as you are one the very few if only reactors that understood the last line of the season finale and how impactful it was. Most just want to blow it off cause they are mad at what Nolan did to earth and Debbie (rightfully so). But this isn’t about that. His people do not know empathy it’s not even a thing for them so that realization for him is just absolutely stunning! While also showing how amazing Debbie is as well
8:52 Its actually a reference to The Walking Dead, not Last of Us, becaus the the creator of Invincible comics also created The Walking Dead comics.

The zombies were The walking dead refrence
You forget the scene from start of s1e4, with the mummy. I think that will be a running gag season to season.
When Angstrom breaks Debbie's arm, when she's trying to tell Oliver, "it's OK, everything's OK, I'm OK" - that was just so harrowing and it leaves you so frightened for all of them - first for Debbie - then even more so for Oliver
Yall ain't ready for s3, gonna be the best one so far 😩
Im sure there something symbolic in Mark, Debbie and Nolan all having swollen right eyes by the end of the episode.
Damn every Grayson family member has a black eye and that Achara scream.😂😂
In the comics when Angstrom throws Mark through portals, one of the universes is the Marvel universe and he teams up with Spiderman. Also the VA for the rip off spiderman in this episode voiced Spiderman in another show.

as someone who read the comics, they did an amazing job with the alternate realities in this episode. Also, Invincible has many more surprises waiting for you in future seasons...if they ever come!!! lol the wait is so painful. And Jaby mentioned thinking Angstrom would be an Avengers level threat; that's more what the Viltrumites are lol trying to take over the universe. And that's why their threat is still being built up in the background
I just wanna thank you for not ruining it for non comic readers like myself. Awesome response. I’m looking forward to the next season!
Comic invincible met the real spider-man and Batman during this. Just another example comic did it better.
THANKS for this!!!! Such a hard-core finale. Really appreciate the tiny moment of tenderness with Atom Eve...and between Jaby and Achara....
36:50 - They brought the pharaoh up on the “previously on” intro. The last time we saw him Mark was learning to fly I think? Like early season 1. The flight speed was so great it buried the tomb right as the Dad discovered it. I thought of it as kind of a “continuation gag” like the Batman of this world leaving the two thugs handcuffed on the rooftop and Mark’s stopping him leading to them being left up there in another shot. I think if nothing else those “gags” are indicative of “Mark is a bull in a China shop” with his powers and can be inadvertently messing things up, literally, without ever realizing it. (Haven’t read the graphic novels so maybe Pharaoh comes back) 😂
another nice parallel to that thing was mark's speed vs. nolan. in s1 nolan was clearly much faster (i think they even raced to everest after that?). in this season, and right after, mark's speed seems to be as fast as we've ever seen it
Pharaoh is not from the comics, IIRC.
A running gag created for the show.
Angstrom's presence is going to become literal torture for Mark both emotionally and physically. He's left his mark (haha), and his influence is going to leave a lot more.
I think that we're at the point where Mark is going to have to confront the serious nature of being a hero and go through some gruesome lessons/failures (sort of like Peter Parkers' journey as Spiderman). And given that Conquest's appearance is coming up, I don't doubt that Mark is going to go full "black-and-blue" mode soon.
I love the Egyptian tomb running gag
I didn't understand that part, what did it boil down to? Can you tell me?
@@rogerluiz2479The joke is that this guy who wants to possess a person always gets an opportunity to do so but Mark accidentally solves the problem every single time.
